DURO-FLEECE® MEMBRANE ADHESIVE
DATA SHEET
Description:
Duro-Fleece
®
membrane adhesive is a two component
adhesive used for adhering Duro-Fleece membrane to
a variety of substrates. It is used in both new and reroof applications.
Duro-Fleece membrane adhesive contains less than
250 g/L of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and
meets all VOC restrictions and regulations in the
United States.
Duro-Fleece membrane adhesive may be used on the
following substrates after they have been properly
prepared as described in the Duro-Last Adhered Duro-
Fleece Roofing System Specification. The installing
contractor is responsible for following all applicable
building, plumbing and electrical codes.
• Structural Concrete (poured in place or precast)
• Gypsum (poured in place or precast)
• Lightweight Concrete (insulating or cellular)
• Wood (Plywood, OSB or Lumber)
• Smooth Built-Up Roofs (BUR)
• Modified Bitumen
• Polyisocyanurate Rigid Insulation Board
• DensDeck
• DensDeck
• SECUROCK

Duro-Fleece membrane adhesive is available in 10
gallon “bag-in-box” sets or in 1500 ml cartridge sets (4
cartridges per case) for smaller areas. The bag-in-box
sets utilize a separate box for each of the two
components while the cartridge holds both
components side-by-side.

Application rates will vary depending on the surface
roughness and absorption rate of the substrate.
Typical coverage rates for cartridge sets are 400–600
square feet per case when bands of adhesive are
spaced 12 inches on center.

Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS):
Box 1: Duro-Fleece Membrane Adhesive Part 1
Box 2: Duro-Fleece Membrane Adhesive Part 2
Precautions:
1. Read MSDS for Part 1 and Part 2 prior to using.
2. Wear proper personal protective equipment, such
as gloves and eye protection, per the MSDS.

3. Follow instructions on the product label regarding
safety, proper setup, handling, and disposal.
4. Keep containers closed. Contamination by moisture
or basic compounds can cause dangerous pressure
build-up in a closed container.
Installation:
1. Limitations
a. The minimum product temperature before
application is 72 °F.
b. The minimum ambient and surface
temperature should be 40 °F and rising.
c. Do not use during wet weather.
d. Do not use on wet substrates.
e. Do not use on dirty or greasy substrates.
f. Do not use on substrates that show signs of
deterioration or loss of structural integrity.
g. Do not use product after expiration date.
2. Retrofit-recover projects
a. The existing roof system must be investigated to
ensure that it is adequately attached.
b. All wet material must be removed and replaced.
c. Existing Phenolic insulation must be removed.
3. Duro-Fleece membrane adhesive must be applied
using the proper application cart or gun. Contact
Duro-Last for additional information.
4. Duro-Fleece membrane adhesive is dispensed in
1 inch wide bands. The spacing between bands is
determined as follows.
a. For any project located in an area where the
design wind speed is greater than 110 mph or a
the roof deck height is greater than 40 feet, the
Duro-Last Engineering Services Department
must determine the band spacing. Otherwise,
use the following guidelines.
b. The spacing between bands of Duro-Fleece
membrane adhesive is less in the perimeter
area of the roof than in the main field area
to compensate for higher wind uplift
pressures.
• Perimeter Area: 6 inches on center.
• Field Area: 12 inches on center.
c. The width of the perimeter area is defined
as whichever is less, 40% of the building
eave height or 10% of the lesser roof plan
dimension, but in no case less than 4 feet.
The remainder of the roof is the field area.
5A. Bag-In-Box / Cart Application
a. Install Part 1 and Part 2 boxes on cart
following the instructions on the box label.
b. Open flow valves on the dispenser
completely and turn machine on. This
allows adhesive to be pumped at a 1:1
ratio through the disposable mix tip and
onto the substrate in a semi-liquid state.
c. Apply the fluid mixture in 1 inch wide bands
using the spacing determined above.
d. Once boxes are installed on the cart the
contents must be used up.
5B. Cartridge / Gun Application
a. Remove cap and attach the disposable
mixing tip to the end of the tube.
b. Apply fluid mixture to substrate in 1 inch
wide bands using the spacing determined
above.
c. When not in use, keep the mixing tip
pointing down to prevent mixed product
from flowing back into the cartridge.
d. To store overnight, remove mixing tip and
put the cap on.
6. Allow the adhesive to turn to a carmel color
before applying the Duro-Fleece membrane.
Apply the membrane as soon as the adhesive
is ready. Do not leave the adhesive exposed.
7. Apply the Duro-Fleece membrane as
described in the Duro-Last Adhered Duro-
Fleece Roofing System Specification.
Note:
1. Keep Duro-Fleece membrane adhesive from
freezing at all times.
2. Store in a cool, dry location at temperatures
between 55 °F and 85 °F.
3. Shelf Life: 18 months in original, sealed
container.
