Introduction

Thank you for purchasing a Duracell® Universal Computer Charger with

2.4 Amp USB. This charger plugs into any AC power outlet anywhere in
the world, and provides a reliable power source to run your computer and
charge its internal battery. Duracell® chargers are made using the highest
quality components and feature all of the necessary voltage and heat

protection circuits to ensure maximum levels of safety and efciency.

NOTE: A physical charger plug may be necessary to plug
into some AC power outlets outside of the United States,
but no voltage converter is needed anywhere in the world.

This charger comes with a variety of numbered tips which connect to the
output cable of the charger and control the output voltage. To ensure that
the proper voltage is delivered to your computer, you must always make

sure that you are using the correct tip for your specic computer model.

Please read the following instructions and refer to the Tip Compatibility
Guide included with this charger to make sure that you select the correct
tip for your computer. The Duracell® Universal Computer Charger also
has the charging convenience of a built-in 2.4 Amp USB port, which can
be used to simultaneously charge popular USB devices such as iPads,
tablets, e-readers, cell phones, PDAs, iPods and more, as the charger
powers and charges the computer.

CAUTION: This charger is not compatible with Mac laptop
computers.

This Duracell® Universal Computer Charger offers many features:

1. Provides up to 90 watts of power.

2. The 2.4 Amp USB port can be used to charge additional devices
such as iPads, smartphones, iPods and other portable devices
using standard, readily available USB cables (not included).

Safety Information

• The charging tips are uniquely designed. If a tip does not fit into the

power socket of your mobile device a mismatch may have occurred.
Do not force the tip into the socket. Doing so may damage the charger
and/or your device.

• Do not expose the charger to rain, moisture, or excessive dust. It may

cause shock hazards.

• Do not operate the charger in direct sunlight.

• Operate the charger in a well ventilated area. Maximum ambient

temperature around the charger must not exceed 104° Fahrenheit
(40° Celsius).

• Do not open the charger under any circumstances. The charger is not

intended to be repaired in case of failure or component defect. There
are no internal serviceable parts.

• Discontinue use and contact our toll free Customer Support line for

assistance at [phone] if any of the following should occur:

• The charger shuts down when it is plugged into the device (LED
turns off).

• The charger’s LED light blinks when the charger is plugged into

an AC power outlet.

• A cord is damaged or frayed.

• Do not use with computers that require more than 90 watts of power.

• Make sure to use the correct tip for your computer listed in the

Tip Compatibility Guide. Do not use a tip that is not listed for your
computer.

• Keep away from children.

• Do not use charger to simultaneously charge or operate any

combination of computer and USB device that will require a total draw
of more than 90 watts of power.

Instructions

To use the Universal Computer Charger:

1. Select your computer manufacturer and model from the “Tip
Compatibility Guide” (separate booklet). This will let you
determine the correct tip number for your computer.

CAUTION: The use of an incorrect tip may damage your
computer. Do not use this product if you cannot locate
your computer model in the Tip Compatibility Guide
included with this charger; please contact our toll-free
help line for assistance at [phone]. This charger is
not compatible with Mac computers.

NOTE: If the compatible tip for your device is not included
in the charger package, tips can be ordered by contacting
DURACELL customer service at [phone].

2. Locate the specified tip from the tip bundle provided. Each tip is
clearly numbered.

3. Connect the selected tip to the end of the output cable, making
sure that the pins on the tip are aligned with the holes in the
cable. The ridge on the inside of the tip should align with the
groove in the output cable connector. Also make sure that the tip

is pushed all the way onto the output cable’s connector.

4. Connect the AC cord to the socket on the charger.

5. Plug the AC cord into an AC wall socket or power strip. The LED

on the charger turns on, indicating that the charger is powered
and ready.

IMPORTANT: If the charger’s LED does not turn on, or if it
blinks, discontinue use and contact our toll free help line
for assistance at [phone].

6. Plug the tip connected to the output cable into the matching DC
input jack on the side or back of your computer. The charger
powers the computer and charges its battery.

Using the DURACELL® charger’s 2.4 Amp USB
port to charge additional devices:

The Duracell® universal computer charger’s features a convenient 2.4
Amp USB port. This port allows you to also charge any USB enabled
device, such as an iPad or other tablet PC, cell phone, e-reader,
handheld game, music player and more, while you use the charger to
power and charge your computer.

1. Plug any standard, readily available USB cord (not included) into
the USB power port on the end of the charger (Fig. 1).

2. Connect the other end of the USB cord to your device. For optimal
use it is recommended that you use the USB cable which is provided
with your device. Connect the proper AC power cord to the charger
body, and then to the power source. Your device is now powered
on and charging.

Common Questions

1. How can I find out which tip fits my computer?

You can determine the correct tip for your computer by referencing

the Tip Compatibility Guide included with the charger or by visiting

the Tip Selector at DuracellPower.com/DRACU90S to nd additional

model listings. Locate your computer manufacturer and model and

the correct tip will be listed. If you cannot nd your specic computer

model please contact Duracell® customer service at [phone]
for additional assistance.

2. My tip is not included. How can I get the correct
one for my computer?

First review the included Tip Compatibility Guide to locate the

correct tip for your specific computer. You can also go to the Tip
Selector at DuracellPower.com/DRACU90S for a complete listing
of compatible models. If the compatible tip for your computer is
not included in the charger package, one free tip can be ordered
through the Tip Selector at DuracellPower.com. If you are unable
to locate your computer in the Tip Selector please contact Duracell

®

customer service at [phone].

3. How do I connect the tip to the charger cable?

Once you have selected the correct tip for your computer, connect
the tip to the output cable, making sure that the ridge on the side of
the tip aligns properly with the groove in the output cable connector.
Additionally, the pins on the inside of the tip should be in line with
the holes in the output cable. The tip should be pushed firmly onto
the cable until the tip and cable meet and there is no gap.

4. What other computers can I use with this charger?

The Duracell® Universal Computer Charger is compatible with
thousands of computer makes and models. A complete list of
compatible computers can be viewed in the Tip Compatibility Guide
included with your charger or by visiting the online Tip Selector to
find additional model listings.

5. Why can’t I fit the tip into my computer?

The tip should fit snugly inside the DC input jack on the side or back
of your computer. If the tip will not fit into the jack, you may have
selected the incorrect tip. Please do not force the tip. Confirm that
you have chosen the correct tip for your computer by referencing
the included Tip Compatibility Guide or by visiting the online
Tip Selector.

6. Will using the wrong tip damage my computer?

The tips are engineered to work with specific computer models and

so you should only use the tip that is designed specifically for your

computer. If you’re not sure which tip is correct, a detailed listing

can be found in the included Tip Compatibility Guide or through the
online Tip Selector. Using an incorrect tip may cause performance
issues, such as inability to charge the internal battery or power
the computer, or an error message on appearing on the computer
screen. It is also possible that the use of an incompatible tip could
damage your computer. Therefore, it is vital to use the tip created
especially for your device.

7. The charger often feels warm when I’m using it with my
computer. Is this dangerous?

During standard operation the charger body may feel warm, and
this is normal. The charger should always be placed in a ventilated

area to avoid overheating.

8. How can I use the USB port to charge my other devices?

Plug one end of the USB cord into the charger’s USB power port,

and then connect the other end to the USB port on your device, then
connect the charger to an AC power source. Your device will begin
charging. The Duracell® charger is able to charge one device via the
USB port at the same time that the charger is being used to power
and/or charge your computer.

9. Does it waste energy to keep the adapter plugged in when
I’m not using it?

The Duracell® adapter meets CEC V energy standards which

means that it is an energy-efficent product designed to conserve
power. When plugged in and not in use, the adapter draws less than

0.5W of power.

10. Does the 2.4 Amp USB port charge all compatible devices?
The USB port (with 2.4 amp output current) can charge most USB
compatible devices, including the Apple iPad, other tablet PCs,
e-readers, smart phones and other devices. For optimal use it is
recommended that you use the USB cable which is provided with
your device.

11. Does it waste energy to keep the charger plugged in when I’m
not using it?

When plugged in and not in use, the charger draws less
than 0.5W of power.

THREE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

This PRODUCT carries a limited warranty against defects in material
and workmanship under normal use and service for three years from the
original date of purchase. The manufacturer or distributor, at its option,
shall repair or replace the defective unit covered by this warranty. Please
retain the dated sales receipt as evidence of the date of purchase as it
will be required for any warranty service. In order to keep the warranty in
effect, the product must have been handled and used as described in the
instructions accompanying this warranty. This warranty does not cover
any damage due to accident, misuse, abuse or negligence.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY

The limited warranty described herein is your sole remedy. To the extent
permitted by law, the manufacturer and distributor disclaim all other
implied or express warranties including all warranties of merchantability

and/or tness for any particular purpose.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Except to the extent of repairing or replacing the Universal Computer

Charger as expressly stated in the limited warranty described herein,
the manufacturer and distributor shall not be liable for any damages,
whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or

otherwise, including lost revenues, lost prots, loss of use of software,

loss or recovery of data, rental of replacement equipment, downtime,
damage to property, and third-party claims, arising out of any theory
of recovery, including statutory, contract or tort. Not withstanding the
term of any limited or implied warranty, or in the event that any limited

warranty fails of its essential purpose, in no event will the manufacturer’s
and distributor’s entire liability exceed the purchase price of this product.

Some states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation
of incidental or consequential damages so the above limitations or

exclusions may not apply to you. This limited warranty gives you specic

legal rights. You may have other rights which vary from state to state and
province to province.
