Installation

Attach The Filter To Your Faucet

Position the filter system so that the unit is on the left side of your faucet and the
Filter Monitor is facing you. Attach the threaded mounting nut to the faucet and
turn until hand tight.

The filter assembly may be moved back and forth while holding the mounting nut
to help tighten the faucet mount.

Determine The Need For An Adapter

If there are threads on the outside of the faucet – Proceed to Step 3.

If there are threads on the inside of the faucet:

Select the adapter and washer that fit your faucet. Place the washer into the
recessed end of the adapter. Apply plumbing tape (provided) to the threads on
both ends of the adapter. The tape acts as an extra seal and strengthens the
connection. Screw the adapter into the faucet. Hand tighten. A coin may be
inserted into the notch in the bottom of the adapter to help tighten it by an
additional 1/2 turn.

Flush The Filter

The Water Selector Switch is located on the far right end of the filter unit. Turn
the Water Selector Switch to the vertical position. Turn on the cold water tap
and allow water to run through the filter until the meter changes from “Flh” to
“ooo”. Do not drink or use the filtered water during the flush cycle.

This flush will remove any carbon particles and activate the filter for use. It is
normal to see some carbon particles rinsed from the filter during the initial flush.
The flush does not affect the cartridge life. The
cartridge included with this system is good for up
to 200 gallons of water, and the gallons used are
only measured after the filter has been activated.
Please refer to the Replacement Cartridge section
for expected life of your filter and contaminant
reductions.

Install The Filter Cartridge

Open the filter cartridge package and remove the cartridge. Open the Filter
Cover, located at rear of unit, by unscrewing it. Insert the cartridge into the
housing. The gallon capacity of the filter should be face up and align with the
Filter Window on the top of the housing. Push in until snug. Reattach the Filter
Cover. The display will flash “---“ five times to indicate that both the system and
the battery are working properly.

CAUTION

Electronic Filter Meter

The Electronic Filter Meter (EFM) is revolutionary in that an LCD display reports
the actual gallons filtered by this system. When the gallons filtered approaches
the gallons capacity of the filter cartridge (see window on top of unit), it is near­ing its designed filtration capacity.

• These filters are not water purifiers. Do not use with water that is microbiologically
unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
Systems certified for Cyst reduction may be used on disinfected waters that may
contain filterable Cysts.

• This unit is not designed to filter sulfur (rotten egg odor). Use of carbon filters to treat
sulfur may intensify taste/odor problems.

• Please comply with all state and local regulations regarding the installation of water
treatment devices.

• The contaminants or other substances reduced by the water filter device are not
necessarily in your water.

Instructions For Use

1. The DuPont™ Faucet Mount Filter is now ready for use.

2.The Filter Life Monitor will begin to measure the gallons used, indicating

the exact volume of water that has passed through your filter. The back
light on the Electronic Filter Meter goes off after a few seconds of use.
Meter continues to measure water filtered.

3.When the number of gallons shown on the meter equals the number of

gallons showing through the filter window (e.g. 200 gallons), the cartridge
is exhausted and should be replaced.

The Water Flow Selector

The Water Flow Selector allows you to choose two types of water flow from
your faucet depending on your need:

Unfiltered Water – Set the Water Selector Switch in the horizontal position to
allow water to flow past the filter. Use this setting when you need to use hot
water or when you want to use cold unfiltered water for uses such as washing
hands.

Filtered Water – Set the Water Selector Switch to the vertical position for a
stream of cold filtered water. Use this position for all filtered water uses, such
as drinking and cooking. Always turn water flow selector to unfiltered water
when through. In this position, only cold water should be used (less than 100

degrees F or 38 degrees C) or you may damage the filter.

Replacement Cartridges

DuPont™ Electronic Metered Deluxe Faucet Mount WFFM350 Series

Usage and quality of water in your incoming water line affect the life of filter cartridges and
determine when the cartridge should be changed. Cartridges should be replaced sooner if water
pressure at the faucet begins to drop noticeably or if the filter fails to perform satisfactorily.

All DuPont™ Faucet Mount Cartridges and DuPont™ Faucet Mount Systems are interchangeable. All
DuPont™ cartridges are designed to filter water in any similar DuPont™ system. A filter cartridge’s
stated reduction capacity is tied to the cartridge’s performance within a specific filtration system for
which is it has been tested and certified. Please see the Performance Data Sheet for the certified
performance of specific systems with stated cartridges.

Operation/Maintenance Data

These units are intended for non-commercial use. They should be used only in ambient
air temperature of between 35 degrees F / 2 degrees C and 100 degrees F / 38 degrees C.
Placement of these units in direct sunlight or use of electrical heating equipment on
these units must be avoided. Replace filter cartridge when and as directed in the
installation/operation instructions included with each cartridge. Replacement filter
cartridges are available at retail outlets.

Instalación

Determine la necesidad de adaptador

Si hay rosca en la parte exterior del grifo, continúe con el paso 3.

Si hay rosca en la parte interior del grifo:

Seleccione el adaptador y la arandela que se adapten a su grifo. Coloque la
arandela en el extremo rebajado del adaptador. Aplique la cinta para cañerías
(provista) a las roscas de ambos extremos del adaptador. La cinta actúa como
sello adicional y refuerza la conexión. Enrosque el adaptador al grifo.
Apriételo con la mano. Puede insertar una moneda en la muesca de la parte
inferior del adaptador para ayudar a apretarlo una 1/2 vuelta adicional.

Instale el cartucho del filtro

Abra el paquete del cartucho del filtro y retírelo. Abra la cubierta del filtro,
ubicada en la parte posterior de la unidad, desenroscándola. La capacidad en
galones del filtro debe mirar hacia arriba y quedar alineada con la ventana del
filtro de la parte superior de la cubierta. Presiónelo hasta que quede
correctamente ajustado. Coloque nuevamente la tapa del filtro. La pantalla
destellará “---“ cinco veces para indicar que tanto el sistema como la batería
están funcionando correctamente.

Fije el filtro al grifo

Posicione el sistema de filtro de modo que la unidad quede a la izquierda del
grifo y el monitor del filtro mire hacia usted. Coloque la tuerca de montaje
roscada en el grifo y hágala girar con la mano hasta que quede apretada.

El conjunto del filtro se puede mover hacia delante y atrás mientras se sostiene
la tuerca de montaje, para ayudar a apretar en montaje del filtro.

Instrucciones de uso

1. El filtro para montaje en grifo DuPont™ está ahora listo para usar.

2.El monitor de vida útil del filtro comenzará a medir los galones usados,

indicando el volumen exacto de agua que pasó por el filtro. La luz de
fondo del medidor electrónico de filtros se apaga después de algunos
segundos de uso. El medidor continúa midiendo el agua filtrada.

3.Cuando el número de galones mostrado en el medidor iguala el número

mostrado a través de la ventana del filtro (p. ej. 200 galones), el filtro está
agotado y se debe reemplazar.

Selector de flujo de agua

El selector de flujo de agua le permite elegir dos tipos de flujo de su grifo según
sus necesidades:

Agua sin filtrar – Ajuste el conmutador selector de agua en la posición horizon­tal para permitir que el agua fluya sin pasar por el filtro. Use este ajuste cuando
necesite usar agua caliente o cuando desee agua sin filtrar para usos tales
como lavarse las manos.

Agua filtrada – Ajuste el conmutador selector de agua a la segunda posición
vertical para obtener una corriente de agua fría filtrada. Use esta posición toda
vez que necesite agua filtrada, tal como para beber o cocinar. Gire siempre el
selector de caudal a la posición de agua sin filtrar cuando termine de usar el
filtro. En esta posición sólo se debe usar agua caliente (a menos de 100 grados

F o 38 grados C). De lo contrario, puede dañar el filtro.

Lave el filtro

El conmutador selector de agua se encuentra en el extremo derecho de la
unidad de filtro. Gírelo a la posición vertical. Abra la válvula de agua fría y deje
que el agua corra a través del filtro hasta que el medidor cambie de “Flh” a
“ooo”. No beba o use el agua filtrada durante el ciclo de lavado.

Este lavado eliminará las posibles partículas de carbón y activará el filtro para
su uso. Es normal ver algunas partículas de carbón enjuagadas del filtro durante
el lavado inicial. El lavado no altera la vida útil del
cartucho. El cartucho incluido con este sistema sirve
para hasta 200 galones (758 litros) de agua y los
galones usados se miden sólo después de activarse
el filtro. Consulte en la sección sobre el reemplazo
del cartucho la vida útil esperada de su filtro y las
reducciones concomitantes.

El consumo y la calidad del agua de su línea de suministro entrante afectan a la vida útil de los
cartuchos de filtro y determinan cuándo deben reemplazarse. Los cartuchos deben reemplazarse
anticipadamente si la presión de agua en el grifo comienza a decaer perceptiblemente o si el filtro
no funciona satisfactoriamente.

Todos los cartuchos para montaje en grifo DuPont™ y los sistemas para montaje en grifo DuPont™
son intercambiables. Todos los cartuchos DuPont™ están diseñados para filtrar agua en cualquier
sistema DuPont™ similar. La reducción de capacidad indicada para el cartucho de filtro está ligada al

Datos de operación y mantenimiento

Estas unidades están diseñadas para uso no comercial. Deben usarse únicamente con
temperaturas de aire ambiental entre 35 grados F (2 grados C) y 100 grados F (38 grados
C). Debe evitarse colocar estas unidades bajo la luz solar directa o usar equipos
calefactores eléctricos en las mismas. Reemplace el cartucho del filtro cuando y como
se explica en las instrucciones de instalación y operación incluidas con el cartucho. Los
cartuchos de filtro de reemplazo están disponibles en las tiendas minoristas.

• Estos filtros no son purificadores de agua. No use este producto con agua
microbiológicamente insegura o de calidad desconocida sin una desinfección
adecuada antes o después del sistema. Los sistemas certificados en relación
con la reducción de cistes se pueden usar en aguas desinfectadas que pueden
contener cistes filtrables.

• Esta unidad no está diseñada para filtrar azufre (olor a huevos podridos). El uso de
filtros de carbón para tratar el azufre puede intensificar los problemas de sabor
y olor.

• Cumpla todas las regulaciones estatales y locales relativas a la instalación de
dispositivos de tratamiento de agua.

• Los contaminantes u otra sustancias reducidas por este filtro no están
necesariamente presentes en el agua que usted usa.

PRECAUCION

El medidor electrónico del filtro (EFM) es revolucionario, porque una pantalla de
LED informa los galones reales filtrados por este sistema. Cuando los galones
filtrados se aproximan a la capacidad en galones del cartucho del filtro (vea la
ventana de la parte superior de la unidad), significa que se está acercando a su
capacidad de filtrado de diseño.
