Reason/Rational: Some Vapor 2000 vaporizers w/ S-2000 mounts can be hard to turn on.

Solution/Procedure: Perform the attached procedure at the suggested interval(s).

Devices affected: Vapor 2000 w/ S-2000 mount (Selectatec mount) distributed to Canada.

Vapor 2000 w/ S-2000 mounts are not distributed in the U.S. and are
therefore not affected.

Timing/When: Every 6 months and every 24 months as prescribed in the attached
procedure.

Additional Info: Please contact Mike Munsell (x. 2285) to obtain the specialized tool
needed for the attached service.

It is recommended that the Dow Corning Gn-Plus Lubricant specified in the
attached procedure, be obtained locally from this suggested supplier:

1 Service Instructions for Vapor S-2000 (M 34821) on Vapor 2000

1.1 Six-Month Maintenance Intervals

Inspection at 6-month intervals including report carried out by qualified service personnel in
connection with Vapor 2000.

Inspection:

− The lever can be easily pressed through the interlock pins.

− The control dial can be opened easily. The control dial can be turned evenly and easily

over the full adjustment range.

If the lever or the control dial is sluggish, refer to the procedure described in the 24-month
maintenance intervals section.

1.2 24-Month Maintenance Intervals

Apart from the 6-month inspection intervals, the plug-in adapter S-2000 (M 34821) must be
maintained at 24-month intervals.

Required material and spare parts:

− Molykote grease G-n plus, tube 100 g (1554166)

− Loctite 221 (1195727) only after removal/replacement of the lever and/or the bar.

Procedure:

• Remove the two bearing cases.

• Clean the interlock pins and bearing cases (inside).

•Inspect the sliding area of the interlock pins (A and B seeFig. 1:). If there are visible

signs of wear, replace the interlock pins.

• Apply a thin layer of Molykote grease on the sliding surface of the interlock pins (A and B

seeFig. 1:).
