1. Remove (2) rearmost spring shackle mounting bolts, each side, as shown in Figure 2. Retain bolts for hitch installation.
Note:
remove only the two outer bolts on each frame rail as shown. It is not necessary to remove center bolts.
2. Remove M12 bolt, just forward of spring shackle, each side, and retain for hitch installation.
3. To raise hitch into position, it will be necessary to pivot one side of hitch as far forward toward axle as possible to manipulate forward
mounting
tab over leaf spring, then pivot that side into position. Repeat on other side.
If spring shackle interferes with installation, use screwdriver to gently pry shackle clear of hitch side bracket. After installation, proper

clearance will exist.
4. Install fasteners as shown, re-using existing M10 & M12 fasteners at all attachments.
Tighten all M10 CL10.9 fasteners with torque wrench to 53 Lb.-Ft. (72 N*M)
Tighten all M12 CL10.9 fasteners with torque wrench to 92 Lb.-Ft. (125 N*M)
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
