Wiring Instructions for 1812-082 Slave Keypad
The 1812-082 slave keypad is designed to work with the Model 1812 Telephone Intercom System.
When inst alled with the 1812, the slave keypad provides momentary, continuous, and restricted entry
codes to be accessed from a second location, and is typically installed on the inside of a gate
operating system. The slave keypad does not provide any voice communication.

Mounting
1. Remove the 1597-010 circuit board ass embly from the slave hous ing to prevent damage
during installation.
2. Mount the slave keypad housing so that it is not subject to continuous vibrations
(slamming gates, doors, etc.), or use a DoorKing m ounting post, part number 1200-045
or 1200-046.
3. Route all wiring into the slave keypad housing and re-install the circuit board.
Wiring
1. Disconnect the 1812 keypad ribbon cable from the 1812 main circuit board.
2. Plug in the 1598-010 circuit boar d to the keypad input connector on the 1812 m ain circuit
board. Install so that the numbers 1 - 8 are right side up.
3. Plug the keypad ribbon cable that was disconnected in step 1 onto the connector on the
1598-010 circuit board.
4. Wire terminals 1 - 8 on the 1598-010 circuit board to terminals 1 - 8 on the 1597-010
slave keypad terminals. Be sure that this wiring is isolated from ground.

5. Wire the slave keypad light to terminals 17 and 18 on the 1812 main terminal strip.
6. Connect the shield to ground.
