Air Conditioning & Heating Systems

Dometic auxiliary remote truck air

conditioning systems are designed

to cool or heat the cab and sleeper

without running the truck’s diesel engine,

saving fuel and preser ving the environment.

The systems run on 120VAC electric ity, which

is supplied by a shorepower connection,

an auxiliary power unit (APU) or a battery-

based system. Models are available in 7,000

BTU/Hr, 10,000 BTU/Hr and 14,000 BTU/Hr

capacities. Electrical strip heating options

include 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 and 4 KW, and can be

speciﬁed as either single or two-stage. It can

also be integrated with a diesel fuel heater,

using the sa me Dometic Qt Control/Display.

The system consists of separate inside

(evaporator) and outside (condenser)

sections connected by ﬂexible refrigerant

lines. Designed for the ha rsh trucking

environment, the units are vibration and

corrosion resistant, and are backed by more

than 40 years of mobile air conditioning

experience. A digital thermostat controls

the system and is ordered separately.

Government-approved environmentally

friendly R-417A refrigerant (HFC) is used.

The ACC condenser section has a highly

efﬁcient, lightweight, compact all-aluminum

condenser and a 24VDC cooling fan within

a powder-coated aluminum housing. To

save space and reduce noise, it is mounted

outside, typically under the cab.

The EHC

inside evaporator unit consists of a

compressor, evaporator coil, electric

heat strip and a blower in an aluminum

enclosure with a deep condensate

drain pan. A cooling only unit (no heat

strip) is also available. This compact unit is

designed to be installed under a bunk, or in

the bottom of a closet or cabinet. An efﬁcient

rotar y compressor was selected for its

quiet operation, and the enclosure further

minimizes noise in the sleeper. A built-in

electric heat strip provides heat during cold

weather. The strong squirrel-cage blower

moves the cooled or heated air to one or

more discharge grilles through insulated

ﬂexible or ﬁxed ducts.

The condenser, evaporator and lineset are

all charged at the factory with the proper

amount of refrigerant. Reusea ble quick-

connect ﬁttings are speciﬁed so that no

special refrigerant handling equipment is

required. Wire harnesses are waterproof and

polarized for each plug-and-play installation.

A sleek and attractive cover for the 7,000

BTU Day Cab interior system is available

to provide protection to the unit while

muf ﬂing sound for a more comfor table

cab environment. The Dometic Qt Control/

Display can be mounted directly onto the

top of the cover, allowing easy access for

the driver.
