Your cleaner contains a thermal protective device to shut off the motor to avoid overheating. If this happens, turn switch off and unplug the cleaner. Inspect the exhaust, inlet, hose, and filters for any blockage. Empty the dirt container and clean filters. After approximately 30 minutes the motor will have cooled and the vacuum will be ready to use.

To the consumer, Royal Appliance Mfg. Co. warrants this vacuum cleaner to be free of defects in material or workmanship commencing upon the date of the original purchase. The warranty does not include unusual wear,damage resulting from accident or unreasonable use of the vacuum cleaner. This warranty does not cover brushes, bags, flat belts, filters and bulbs. Insert handle into

Push down firmly until handle locks into place.

For storage, press the telescopic handle release button (Diagram 1) on the back of the cleaner and push handle down (Diagram 1a).

For regular use, push the telescopic handle release button (Diagram 1) and pull handle up (Diagram 1a).

Turn the Quick Cord Release for easy cord removal. Store cord in cord guide (see “features”, Diagram 2 for location) to keep out of the way while vacuuming.

FLOOR/CARPET CLEANING

Move the handle and adjust it to the desired position for (a) operating the cleaner, and (b) lowering handle to clean under furniture.

Plug cord into electrical outlet. Turn cleaner on by pressing the on/off switch located on the top of unit.

CARRY HANDLE

Use the carry handle located on the top of the dirt container lid to move the cleaner from room to room.

Pull back handle to tilt back. Press on the front of nozzle if needed.

BELT OR BRUSHROLL: REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT

TO REMOVE BELT

Depress button on top of dirt container lid to remove dirt container.

Clean filter and empty dirt container completely. See “Regular Maintenance” note below for instructions on cleaning the filter.

Return dirt container to base of unit.

Remove lid by grasping handle on dirt container lid and turn counter clockwise.

Return filter to dirt container. Twist filter clockwise to lock into position.

Hold the dirt container and grasp the top of the filter. Twist the filter counter clockwise to unlock (Diagram 3a). Pull the filter up and out.

Return lid to dirt container.

UNLOCK

Line up arrow on dirt container with lock/ unlock arrows on dirt container lid for proper alignment. Turn clockwise to lock lid in place.

Lay cleaner flat and flip cleaner to expose nozzle base. Base should lay flat and face up. To remove nozzle guard, use Phillips screwdriver to remove the six (6) screws. Arrows show location of screws.

TO REPLACE BELT OR BRUSHROLL

Lift and remove brushroll. Dispose of old belt.

Slide belt onto motor shaft. Place new belt in area of

the base of the cleaner as you remove the nozzle guard

Slide belt off motor shaft.Tilt rollers up and away from

brushroll without bristles.

*REGULAR MAINTENANCE: Each time the dirt container is emptied, the filter should be cleaned. Tap the filter firmly against the inside of a trash can until the dirt stops falling from the filter. (Filter will be discolored after use, this will not affect the filter’s performance.) Do not brush the filter. The cleaning instructions may vary depending on the dirt conditions. In some cases, more or less cleaning of the filter may be required.

With new belt in place, pull and slide

brushroll into nozzle making sure tha the brushroll end ca orientation (7a inset). Rotate brushroll manually to make sure belt is properly aligned.

Reattach nozzle guard by carefully sliding back into

place. Interlock rollers and nozzle guard by tilting rollers down towards the base while replacing the nozzle guard.

Be sure to replace all six (6) screws.

CLOG MAINTENANCE

TOOL REQUIRED: PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY FROM MOVING PARTS - UNPLUG BEFORE CLEANING CLOG. NOTE: First check brushroll for clog, if clog persists, then check lower hose.

Locate lower hose/clog cleanout (see “FEATURES”, number 15 for location).

Remove one (1) screw and pull lower hose down and away from cleaner. Remove obstruction.

Replace lower hose and replace one (1) screw.
