Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces. Electrical shock could occur. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center for inspection. Call 1-800-321-1134 for the nearest service center. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands. Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes. Do not use without dirt container and filters in place.
Turn off all controls before unplugging.
Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present. Keep the vacuum cleaner on the floor. Only the hand-held vacuum cleaners may be set on furniture.
Cleaner must be in the upright position to lift the rotating brush off the carpet when doing above floor cleaning.
Do not use an extension cord with this vacuum cleaner. Store the vacuum cleaner indoors. Put the vacuum cleaner away after use to prevent tripping accidents. Using improper voltage may result in damage to the motor and possible injury to the user. Proper voltage is listed on the
cleaner plate.

WARNING:
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, con­tact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

HOW
TO ASSEMBLE
TOOL REQUIRED: PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER
1.
Stand unit in upright position and place upper handle onto upright (Diagram
1).
2. Push upper handle onto upright, aligning upper handle with handle opening (Diagram 2).

HOSE ASSEMBLY AND TOOL STORAGE
1. AlTACH HOSE: Attach the flexible hose to the cleaner (Diagram 1). Match the slots on the hose to the tabs on the hose inlet (Diagram IA). Push down firmly on the cuff and turn clockwise. Insert the hose handle into the side of the cleaner. Press down firmly to secure (Diagram 2).
2.
ATTACH TOOLS: (Diagram 3) (A) Slide 2-in-1 tool onto tool clip on the back panel with bristles facing out.

Slide the Telescopic
wand, small end down, into the round slot behind handle.
(C)
Slip crevice tool into square slot behind handle.
3. CORD STORAGE: For tidy cord storage, wrap cord around hooks on back of cleaner. The Quick Cord Release turns for easy access
to the cord

HOW TO OPERATE
1. Plug cord into electrical outlet. 2. Turn cleaner "on". Power pedal located on left side of back of unit (Diagram
1). 3. To release handle push pedal to the side with foot (Diagram 2). 4. Use cord guide to store cord out of way while vacuuming. FLOORlCARPET CLEANING
1. Handle should be in the upright position before adjusting the carpet setting (Diagram 4a). Adjust lever to match the surface being cleaned (Diagram 3). Once height is selected the nozzle will go to the correct position. Pull and turn the selector to the desired position before proceeding to clean. If the cleaner is difficult to push, adjust to a higher carpet level setting.
2. Move the handle and adjust it to the desired position for (a) storing the upright, (b) operating the cleaner, and (c) depress the handle release pedal again to clean under low furniture (Diagram 4).
3. CarpetIHose Selector located on the lower back of the cleaner should be pointed up for the carpet cleaning (Diagram 5) and to the left for hose cleaning (Diagram 5a).
NOTE:
Rotating brush could cause area rug fringe to become tangled within cleaner. Use caution when vacuuming throw rugs with fringe.
ABOVE FLOOR CLEANING
Cleaner must be in the upright position to lift the rotating brush off the carpet when cleaning above the floor.
1. Pull and turn the CarpetlHose Selector counterclockwise to the "hose" position to open up airflow to the hose (Diagram 5a). CAUTION:
Brush agitator continues to rotate while hose is removed or in use and at all times while cleaner is on. Keep hair, loose
clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from brush area while cleaner is on.
2. Put cleaner in its upright position.
3.
Remove the hose from the side of the cleaner using the handle (Diagram 6).
4. Choose any of the handy accessories or use the hose alone. Simply push the attachment firmly onto the end of the wand or hose
handle. To remove tool, twist and pull apart gently.
5.
If
additional length is needed use the telescopic wand (See Diagram 1, page 6).

TELESCOPlC WAND:
Remove wand from cleaner by pulling out at the top (Diagram 1). Twist and pull wand apart for extra
length, as described on wand. Twist again to lock.

CARPET SETTINGS
IMPORTANT:
Put handle in the upright position before adjusting the carpet setting.
Adjust lever on nozzle to match the surface being cleaned (Diagram 2). If cleaner is difficult to push, adjust to a higher carpet setting.
HOW TO TRANSPORT CLEANER
Use the carrying handle on the back of the cleaner to move cleaner from room to room (Diagram 3).
NOTE:
Do not push cleaner forward while leaning on back casters. Do not pull cleaner on back casters.

CLEANING DIRT CONTAINER & HEPA FILTER:

For best performance, replace filter yearly.
EMPTY & CLEAN DlRT CONTAINER:
1. Depress latch to remove dirt container from cleaner (Diagram 1). Remove lid by grasping both handles and turning lid counter­clockwise (Diagram
2).
2. Remove and clean filter (see instructions below). Empty dirt container (Diagram
3).
3. Use a sponge and lukewarm water to wipe dirt container clean.
4.
Replace Dirt Container:
Set aligning tab on bottom of dirt container into rectangular slot on the cleaner, and push to snap into place
(Diagram 4). If dirt container does not snap into place, check to make sure the lid and filter are secured properly.
CLEAN THE HEPA FILTER
located in dirt container:
1. Remove dirt container. Hold dirt container, grasp top of filter, twist and firmly pull the filter up and out.
2.
*Regular Maintenance:
Each time the dirt container is emptied, the filter should be cleaned. Gently tap the filter firmly against the inside of a trash can until dirt stops falling from the filter. (Filter will be discolored after use, this will not affect the filter's performance.) Do not brush the filter.
3.
Thorough Cleaning*:
If you should notice a decrease in the vacuum's power or suction, inspect the cleaner for clogs, empty the dirt cup
and remove all dust and debris from the filter. Once completely cleaned, the vacuum will immediately be ready for use.
4.
Replace the HEPA Filter:
Return filter to dirt container. Push filter into place to prevent dirt leakage. Return dirt cup to cleaner.

The cleaning instructions may vary depending on the dirt conditions. In some cases, more or less cleaning of the HEPA filter may be required.

TO REMOVE BELT
Flip cleaner to expose nozzle base. Base should lay flat and face up. To remove nozzle guard, use Phillips
screwdriver to remove the two screws. Arrows (Diagram 1) show location of screws. Lift nozzle guard off. Slide belt off motor shaft
(Diagram 2). Lift and remove brushroll (Diagram 3). Dispose of old belt.
TO REPLACE BELT
1.
Place belt on motor shaft, then slip brushroll through belt. Place belt in area of brushroll without bristles (Diagram
4).
2.
With belt in place, pull and slide brushroll into nozzle (Diagram 3) making sure that the brushroll end caps are in the correct orientation (Diagram 3a inset).
IMPORTANT:
Rotate brushroll manually to make sure belt is not twisted.
3. Reattach nozzle guard. Secure by locating the 3 tabs in the base slots and replace the screws (Diagram 1).
DEBRIS REMOVAL:

Access panel should not detach completely from the unit.

cleaner uses a common automotive lamp #906, 13.0 volts. To purchase
