Remove all packing material. Should the unit be damaged, contact the carrier/truck line as soon as possible 1. and report hidden shipping damage. Do not discard the cartoning material. The carrier will need to see it.
Gently lay the cart upside down on a blanket or a smooth, non marring surface.2.
The “Caster Stem Assembly” consists of the “Knurled Retainer Nut”, “Rubber Expander” & the “Plastic Spacer.” 3. Before installing the “Caster Stem Assembly” into the leg of the cart, the “Rubber Expander” must be expanded so that it is a tight t when inserted into the cart leg. To do this, either hold the “Top Swivel Caster Plate”, or place a ¾” open end wrench onto the hex head tting as shown above. Next, tighten the “Knurled Retainer Nut”. This will cause the “Rubber Expander” to expand.
Shove the “Caster Stem Assembly” into the cart leg. 4. IMPORTANT: The complete Caster Stem Assembly must be inserted all of the way into the cart leg. When inserted properly, the Cart Leg will be in contact with the “Top Swivel Caster Plate.”
Finally, tighten the caster by grasping the “Top Swivel Caster Plate.” Continue holding it while tightening the 5. “Hex Head Fitting” (Use ¾” open end wrench). The “Rubber Expander” will expand, thus applying force against the inner cart leg. Thus in completing the tightening process it may not be necessary to continue to hold on to the “Top Swivel Caster Plate”.
