LINEAR LED Luminaire for
Hazardous areas
Zones 1,21 & 2,22 Applications
The Dialight Linear fitting is suitable for use in potentially explosive atmosphere in zones 1 and 2 to the
requirements of ATEX Directive 94/9/EC as well as IEC 60079-0, IEC 60079-1, IEC 60079-18, IEC 60079-31
and IEC 60079-7
The product can be used in either wet or dry locations to illuminate areas with potentially explosive atmosphere.

DO NOT OPEN WHEN
The installation, operation and maintenance must
be carried out by an electrician suitably trained in
hazardous areas.
• The technical data indicated on the LED fixture
are to be observed.
• Changes of the design and modifications to the
LED fixture are not permitted.
• Repairs must only be carried out by a qualified
electrician with hazardous area knowledge.
• Only genuine Dialight replacement parts must be
used when unforeseen repairs are required.
• Observe the national safety rules and regulations
during installation.
• Do not keep these operating instructions inside
the LED fixture.
• Do not open the LED fixture when energized.
• Wait 10 minutes before opening after de-
energizing the LED fixture.

Electrical Connections/Color Code
The terminal block is suitable for multi-stranded and
single core cables up to a maximum of 12gauge or
(4mm2) recommended strip length of .4 inches or
(10mm)
L1 = LIVE / BLACK
N = NEUTRAL / WHITE
E = GROUND / GREEN
Loop thru Electrical Connections:-
Connect incoming cable as above then connect the
outgoing cable to the associated adjoining connection to
pass to the next luminaire.
ONLY SINGLE CABLES TO BE USED ON EACH
CONNECTION.

Installation:
Ensure that the mains voltage supply is disconnected before connecting the luminaire. Install the equipment in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions as well as any other applicable electric codes.
Always transport and store the equipment in its original packaging and keep in a dry location.
When unpacking check for any cracks or damage in the housing, glass lens and gasket seal, if in doubt do not install!

There are no serviceable parts within the Light engine!
The improper installation, operation and maintenance of these luminaires may result in the invalidation of the
warrantee or a unsafe work or environment condition!
For supply connections use Cable with wire rated for at least 96ºC
Thru Wiring Option
• For maximum long term reliability and light output, the light must be installed in free air.
o The Linear fixture design incorporates an over-temperature control circuit that reduces input power
should internal temperatures reach a maximum level. In this event, light output may be reduced.
• The Linear fixture is threaded for M25 , at the center and each end of the Power Supply Housing, in order to
be assembled
o Remove the center DUST cap from the fixture and dispose of.
o Remove both factory installed Certified Plugs from the ends.
o Place one of the Certified Plugs in to the previously removed Dust plug.
o NOTE: Ensure gasket and torque is correct to ensure a watertight unit.
o NOTE: Failure to do so will void all warranties and will cause premature failures.
o Use conductive pipe sealant for all fittings that have been removed and/or replaced.
o
Warning:
installer to prevent the moisture from entering thru the cable or other means entering the fixture. Failure to
comply with the above could void factory warranties.
o Fixture is factory wired for both Pendant and Through wiring.
o Remove the Power Supply Covers to attach incoming power to the terminal block supplied inside the power
supply compartment, follow the electrical connections.
o Repeat this procedure for the opposite end.
o Replace the power supply cover using the screws previously removed. Tighten all screws to 15 in/lbs
(1.75NewtonM’s)
NOTE: Ensure that the o-rings are properly seated in the grooves; reattach the Cover using the screws previously removed. Tighten all screws to 15 in/lbs (1.75NewtonM’s)
o Restore power and verify operation.

If there is moisture present or chance of it than necessary precautions should be taken by the

Center Wiring Option (Figure 3) Installation Steps:

o NOTE: The certified gland is not supplied with the fixture.
