The Devine Venture Mobile speaker features a pre-installed lithium-ion battery. This battery is able to power
the speaker without the need to plug it into a power socket. After unpacking the speaker, it is recommended
to fully charge the battery before switching the speaker on for the first time. Immediately switching on the
speaker after unpacking it may affect the lifespan of the battery.
While lithium-ion batteries are more resistant and protected from the effects of full-discharge than lead-based
and acid-based batteries, this can still negatively affect the lifespan of the battery. Only when the device
indicates that the battery level is low (as indicated when the LOW LED indicator is lit red) should it be
plugged into a power socket so that the battery can be recharged.
To maximise battery lifespan, it is recommended to maintain a charge level of approximately 50% when the
device is in storage for longer periods of time.
The battery has been mounted in a specially designed compartment at the rear of the device. In the event
that the battery is defective and needs to be replaced, please contact your local retailer. If necessary,
qualified and experienced technicians can replace the battery themselves. However, Devine strongly
recommends that no end user attempts to replace the battery themselves. Devine shall not accept any
liability for any damage and/or injury incurred by misuse.
WARNING
There is a risk of explosion if the battery is not replaced correctly.
Always replace the battery with the same battery type and quality.
Never expose batteries to intense heat such as sunlight, open flames etc.
Never leave batteries in any high temperature environment to avoid the danger of explosion or the leakage of
flammable gases or liquids.
Never burn a battery or place it in a hot oven. Never damage a battery by cracking or making any holes or
incisions in the outer casing as this may cause the battery to explode.
Never expose a battery to extremely low air pressure levels (at higher altitudes) to avoid the danger of
explosion or the leakage of flammable gases or liquids.
Always keep batteries out of reach of children!
Recycling
As soon as the battery reaches the end of its lifespan or no longer functions as it should, it needs to be
removed from the device.
Never dispose of batteries along with the rest of your normal household waste. Batteries may contain
substances that are harmful to the environment. When batteries are correctly recycled, they are a valuable
source of reusable materials. Contact your local council for information about the safe disposal and recycling
of batteries.

The Devine Venture Mobile is a powerful speaker complete with a built-in amplifier and a range of options for
playing back music or amplifying microphones (not included).
This section of the manual includes information about all the functions that this speaker has to offer and the
optional accessories it can be combined with. Please read this section in detail so you can not only ensure
the best possible speaker performance, but ensure that the speaker is used correctly to avoid any possible
damage.
Warning Before Use
The Devine Venture Mobile speaker is designed to amplify sound at volume levels that, over a short or long
period, may cause temporary or permanent hearing damage. Always use this speaker with care and limit the
volume level wherever possible. Always listen to music at a comfortable listening level.
Devine will not accept liability for any damage or injury caused when a comfortable listening level is
exceeded.
General Use
Housing
The housing of the Venture Mobile speaker is made of strong, moulded plastic. This special housing is better
prepared to withstand mobile use but is not resistant to any damage caused by falling and/or collisions with
sharp edges or objects.
During use, storage and transport, always ensure that the speaker is not in danger of falling or colliding with
any objects that may tip or fall.
Fixed Handles
The Venture Mobile speaker features a top-mounted retractable handle and base-fitted wheels so that, when
the handle is pulled out, the speaker can be transported like a trolley. The speaker also has one handle on
both sides to ease loading and positioning.
Never suspend or install this speaker via any of the fitted handles. Never use lashes or tension straps when
the speaker is placed on a high subwoofer. If the speaker is set up in this way, avoid applying a large amount
of strain to the handles. If the strain is too great, the handle will be in danger of cracking or breaking.
Protection During Transport
The Venture Mobile speaker is easy to transport and position, however it is not splash proof or waterproof.
Always transport the speaker in rainy, wet or damp conditions with caution. If the speaker is exposed to wet
conditions, then allow the speaker to fully dry before switching it on. If the speaker is not sufficiently dry, this
may result in a short-circuit, which can lead to permanent damage and/or injury. Wet or damp conditions can
also cause both visible and less visible corrosion which, over a long period, can cause permanent damage.
Grille
The internal speaker components of the Venture Mobile speaker are protected by a metal grille mounted on
the front. This grille must never be removed or disassembled by the user.
Stand Adapter
This speaker comes fitted with a 35 mm stand flange on the base of the housing. Via this flange, the speaker
can be easily mounted on a standard speaker stand. Mounting the speaker on a stand will increase the
spread of higher frequencies so that the sound is able to accommodate a larger audience.
To achieve an optimal effect, the centre of the woofer of the speaker should be placed at a height of
approximately 180 cm to 200 cm. This way, the audio dispersion will be directed over the heads of your
audience, resulting in optimal reach.
The information included in this user manual is subject to change at any time and without notification:
Once mounted, the stand flange can be securely clamped to a speaker stand via the fitted tightening knob.
This ensures that any resonance and vibrations are unable to shift the position of the mounted speaker.
When the speaker is stand mounted, make sure that the stand is never placed near or on a walking route or
anywhere that it might be in danger of being knocked over. Always fold the legs of the tripod base of your
speaker stand all the way out to ensure maximum stability.
The 35 mm stand flange can also be used to mount the speaker on a compatible wall bracket. Always follow
the wall bracket manual and instructions in detail when mounting a speaker on a wall.
Adjusting the Sound
The Devine Venture Mobile speaker comes with various controls for easily adjusting the sound. By reading
and following the tips and instructions included below, you can get the most out of the functions and features
that this speaker has to offer and can be assured of the best possible sound quality and performance.
Mic Input, Input & Aux Volume
The rear control panel is fitted with a microphone input, a line-input and an AUX input.
The microphone input is designed for dynamic vocal microphones and is not able to power condenser
microphones. The line-input is designed for line-level sound sources like an electric piano. Instruments like a
guitar can also be plugged into the line-input when Hi-Z mode is switched on. The AUX input can be used to
plug in laptops, mp3 players or phones etc.
Before plugging in a microphone or any other external equipment, always turn the channel volume all the
way down. When using a microphone, always ensure that the sound coming out of the speaker cannot be
picked up by the microphone, as this can result in feedback (a high pitched, piercing noise). If you
experience feedback, move the microphone away from the speaker and/or turn the microphone channel
volume all the way down. Prolonged exposure to extreme feedback can permanently damage the speaker.
Bass/Treble
If needed, the level of bass and treble can be increased or reduced per channel. Before plugging in a
microphone, always set the Bass and Treble controls to neutral (the 12 o’clock position).
Reverb
The microphone channel features a built-in reverb effect to add a more spacious feel to the sound. The
Reverb control can be used to set the reverb amount.
Voice Priority
When Voice Priority mode is activated, the Mic Input channel is given priority over all of the other channels.
This means that the volume of (for example) any background music is automatically turned down (slightly) as
soon as the microphone is spoken or sung into. This enhances the intelligibility of any speech or vocals.
Hi-Z
When Hi-Z mode is activated, an electric guitar or electro-acoustic guitar can be plugged in and amplified by
the Devine Venture Mobile speaker. To use the normal line-level input mode once more, simply set the Hi-Z
switch back to the Off position.
DSP Mode
The built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) of the Devine Venture Mobile speaker has 3 different settings for
optimising the sound of the speaker depending on the situation:
Music: For playing back pre-recorded music like backing tracks or background music.
Live: For live music performances, like vocals, a guitar and/or digital piano.
Speech: For any spoken presentations or performances, including pre-recorded speech as well as
live speeches.
The information included in this user manual is subject to change at any time and without notification:
Push the BT PAIR button once to start the Bluetooth pairing process. The blue LED will blink to indicate that
the process has been activated. With a Bluetooth enabled device, search for the ‘Devine Venture Mobile’ to
establish a Bluetooth connection.
Two Devine Venture Mobile speakers can be linked via Bluetooth to complete a stereo pair without the need
for any connecting cables. By pushing the BT PAIR button on both speakers, they will detect one another to
automatically form a wireless stereo pair. In this mode, it is no longer possible to play back music through the
speakers via an external Bluetooth enabled device.
Master
The Master volume controls the total volume of the speaker. Under the Master volume, two LED indicators
have been fitted. The green LED indicates that the speaker is switched on. The red LED is a clip-indicator
and will only light up when the amplifier module is overloaded (needs to supply more power than it can
handle). As soon as the clip-indicator lights up, turn the Master volume down until the LED is no longer lit.
Adjusting the Bass and Treble controls of the microphone and line-input channels can also affect the power
demands on the amplifier module. For example, if the bass is set to a level above ‘0’, the lower frequencies
are boosted, which requires more power.
Mix Out
An XLR line input (Mix Out) has also been fitted so that the signal of one speaker can be distributed to a
number of other speakers. The Mix output sends the total mix out (so the total sound that the speaker is
amplifying). Therefore, the Mix Out output does not output sound at a fixed volume. Adjusting the Master
volume or any of the channel volume controls will have an influence over the volume levels outputted by the
Mix Out.
In Use
Using a Microphone
To maintain optimum sound quality, hold the microphone close to the mouth and at a maximum distance of
5 cm from the lips. Speak loudly and clearly into the microphone so that as little amplification as possible is
required (so that the volume does not need to be turned up). Generally, dynamic vocal microphones are
directionally sensitive, so they pick up less sound coming from the sides and back than sound coming from
the front.
Never hold a microphone in front of the speaker as this will cause a feedback loop (a high-pitched, piercing
sound). If you experience feedback, immediately move the microphone away from the speaker and turn the
volume of the microphone channel all the way down to break the feedback loop.
It is recommended that the speaker/singer always stands either next too or behind the speaker to reduce the
risk of feedback. Standing directly in front of, or just at an angle to, the front of the speaker means that the
microphone is able to pick up the sound coming from the speaker, which almost always causes feedback.
