Use of the stage snake
The Devine SNC stage snake series has been designed for professional use on stage. The SNC snakes are used to transmit groups of audio signals via one large multi-core cable, from the stage to a mixer and vice versa. This way, you don't need a lot of separate cables to transmit all your audio signals from point A to B.
Labels
All connectors (cable connectors and panel chassis connectors) are equipped with their own cable colour and a label which is used to distinguish the connectors from each other. This way, you always know which connector is used for which channel.
Strain relief
All cable connectors are equipped with a transparent sleeve, which is also used as a strain relief for the cable itself. This way, pulling a cable will never result in broken cable contacts, thus preventing signal loss and other problems. A large metal strain relief for the main cable has been provided to prevent the cable from pulling connectors from your mixing desk (the hook sees to this).
Locking connectors
The inputs of the cables and the outputs of the connector panel are equipped with locking XLR connectors. This means that once a cable is connected to one of these connectors, it stays in place until you unlock the mechanism. This prevents sudden signal loss because of a disconnected cable. To unlock, press the metal mechanism and pull the plug at the same time.
Stage box
The stage box on which the cable is mounted is equipped with stable feet for stage use and with screw holes. In halls where no permanent installation is present as the location is used for various purposes, it is possible to mount the SNC stage box on a wall. Doing so enables you to connect your cabling to the main matrix when required, without causing permanent cable exposure. Extension cords are then used to lead signals to and from the stage if needed. The stage box is also equipped with a metal handle for easy transport and placement.
