PARTS
6
INSTALLATION
This Split Type Air Conditioner is fitted with DIY quick connectors. For ease of installation, please follow these instructions carefully, ensuring the below measurements are adhered to
7
INSTALLATION
Installing the indoor unit
1. Ensure the machine is not connected to the mains electricity supply before carrying out the installation
2. Unclip the mounting panel from the rear of the indoor unit using the two catches in the bottom corners
3. Ensure the mounting panel is horizontal and fix into place using the self tapping screws provided, at least 50mm for the ceiling, 100mm from each side wall and 2000mm from the floor
4. Carefully drill a 60mm hole, angled downwards, slightly to the right of the mounting panel. (The indoor unit should then cover this hole when hung)
5. Pass the piping through the hole and then mount the indoor unit. Hang the top of the unit on the mounting panel and lightly press the base until it ‘clicks’ into place
8
INSTALLATION
Installing the outdoor unit
The outdoor unit has two drainage holes on the base. Choose the most convenient and connect the drainage elbow
Ensure the unused drainage hole is filled with a grommet before the outdoor unit is mounted in position
Take care to mount the outdoor unit on a level surface at least 100mm from the wall
Securely fasten the outdoor unit to the base/floor
If a mounting bracket is used (not included), ensure the outdoor unit is
securely fastened to the mounting bracket
Ensure the outdoor unit is fitted below the indoor unit, so the water can drain from the indoor unit
Connecting the air conditioner WARNING – do not adjust any bolts except those that connect directly to
the outside unit. Adjusting these will cause the refrigerant to escape and may cause serious injury
1. Ensure the machine is not connected to the mains electricity supplied before carrying out the installation
2. Remove the protective covers from the two connecting pipes
3. Connect the two pipes from the indoor unit to the valves of the outdoor unit using two spanners
4. Connect the wiring, ensuring the terminal numbers and wiring colours on the outdoor unit match with the terminal numbers and wiring colours on the indoor unit. If you are not confident in performing this, ask a qualified electrician
9
INSTALLATION
Releasing the refrigerant to the unit
1. This air conditioning unit comes ready charged with refrigerant
2. Tighten the screws on the outdoor unit with a 24mm spanner
3. Remove the gas valve cover and open, using the hexagonal spanner provided
4. Replace the gas valve cover
5. Repeat stages 2-4 for the second gas valve
Testing the unit
1. Connect the mains power
2. Locate the emergency power switch under the cover of the indoor unit and turn the power on
3. The unit will sound once, the indoor fan will start and all the lights on the unit will illuminate
4. After 2 seconds, the lights will turn off
5. After 6 seconds, the fans will stop and the unit is ready to use
After testing the unit, the emergency power switch should only be used when the remote control is lost or defective
When using the emergency power switch, the unit will operate in ‘Auto’ function according to the room temperatures below and the louvers will oscillate in the ‘Standard’ cycle
Cooling function if the room temperature is greater than 25oC
Fan Function if the room temperature is between 20oC and 25oC
Heating Function if the room temperature is less than 20oC
Please Note – Using the emergency power switch will cancel the ‘Timer’/’Sleep’ functions
