combined with the renowned Faroudja Interlace/Progressive (I/P) converter and a wealth of features designed
for the age of high-definition video. Not only does the DVM-2845CI play DVD-Video discs, it also plays high
sound quality DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD discs. Denon's technologies acclaimed for high sound and picture quality let you enjoy DVD, DVD-Audio, CD, and Super Audio CD in a single unit.
■ Custom Integration
• RS232C serial command control
• Remote in/out IR command control
• Discrete Power on/off command
■ HDMI digital output terminal supporting 1080p scaling
The DVM-2845CI is equipped with a high-performance HDMI digital video output
terminal. Since it also has a highly accurate video scaling function capable of 1080p
output, the maximum specification for HDMI, the DVM-2845CI can output the highdefinition video signal that suits the monitor being used. Multi-channel digital audio
output is also possible through the HDMI interface (*1), allowing a single cable to be
used for both video and audio digital transmission. In addition, support for the HDCP
(High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) system allows digital video connection
of a high-definition display (*2).
■ High-performance Faroudja I/P converter
The DVM-2845CI uses a highly-reliable Faroudja I/P converter that supports
playback of high picture quality Progressive video. Video material, film material, and
sources that combine both video and film material are very capably detected and
processed. Highly precise DCDi technology is used to smooth out the jaggies that
are visible when video material is I/P converted.
■ I/P detection mode with manual operation capability
The DVM-2845CI includes an I/P Detection mode that detects and processes film
and video material with high precision when I/P converting DVD video sources. This
mode uses motion detection to accurately detect film and video material, and the
ability to manually select the detection mode allows the user to achieve the desired
Progressive playback for a variety of discs.
■ High-speed, high-accuracy 11-bit, 216-MHz video DAC
To faithfully reproduce the original video images, the DVM-2845CI is equipped with a
highly accurate 11-bit, 216-MHz video DAC that is amply capable of D/A converting
massive volumes of digital video information. This DAC faithfully reproduces with
utmost clarity the minute details of high-definition images.
■ A wealth of picture quality adjustment modes
Adjustments in 12 stages are possible for 5 items: Contrast, Brightness, Color,
Gamma Correction, and Sharpness.
■ Design for high sound quality including 24-bit, 192 kHz D/A converter
The DVM-2845CI has a 24-bit, 192-kHz D/A converter featuring superior dynamic
range, S/N ratio, and distortion characteristics. The audio circuitry that includes the
DAC is endowed with Denon's digital audio technology renowned for its exceptional
sound quality, achieving superior sonic results even when playing conventional CDs.
■ Bass management feature for home theater environments
Bass management allows a variety of settings for the home theater such as speaker
configuration and delay time, accommodating a wide range of speaker placements.
■ GUI (Graphical User Interface) for easier operation
■ Support for a wide variety of discs, including DVD-RW VR mode
DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and CD-R/RW discs can also be played on the
DVM-2845CI, as well as DVD-RW discs recorded in VR mode. MP3, WMA, and
JPEG files on CD-R/RW discs can be played, too, thanks to the DVM-2845CI's
support for PC formats (*3).
■ Support for DivX 6.0 playback
