846-2NE Laundry System
DEMA Engineering Company, St. Louis, MO USA
Introduction
The 846-2NE Laundry System is designed to work directly off of commercial style laundry
machines. There are no electronic control boards in the 846-2NE. The laundry machine supply
signals are used to drive the AC motors on the 846-2NE Laundry System. The motors are
voltage specific depending on the model of the 846-2NE. The system is equipped with two C2
pumps that are capable of delivering about 10oz/minute 1cP (centipoise) water. There are two
models availa b le:
846-2NE115 Use with 110-125VAC 60Hz supply signals from laundry machine.
846-2NE230 Use with 208-240VAC 60Hz supply signals from laundry machine.
Installation and Setup
In addition to these steps, see diagrams on following pages for further details concerning this
product.
1. Mount 846-2NE on the wall using the three mounting ho les located along the top backside of
the 846-2NE case. It may be necessary to use wall anchors (not supplied) depending on the
material of the wall.
2. All installations must be in accordance with city, county, state or provincial electrical
codes and should be performed by a certified electrician. For questions, please contact
local licensed electrical contracto r.
3. CAUTION: All electrical power must be turned off to the laundry machine and any
other circuit that is to be used for this installation. Lockout and tag procedures must be
observed when installing this device. Never open the DEMA product enclosures while
power is applied. Use appropriately rated insulated wiring, electrical fixtures and other
materials that meet all applicable electrical and building codes.
4. Wire the unit to the machine using jacketed cable with ground wire. The 846-2NE is
equipped with a fused terminal for each motor. The terminal block is marked “Line”,
“GND” and “115VACRET or 230VACRET”. These markings should be followed. If you
are dealing with a laundry machine that has separate supply voltage lines and a common,
then the supply voltage line should be wired to the terminal marked “Line”. The common
should be wired to the terminal labeled “115VACRET or 230VACRET”. The unit must be
grounded properly by wiring the ground to either a good ground source on the laundry
machine or an earth ground within the laundry facility premises. Additionally the wiring
must enter the 846-2NE enclosure through the electrical access hole fitted for ½” conduit
fittings, on bottom side using appropriate strain relief hardware (not supplied).
5. To operate the pumps, si mply program the laundry machine to drive the appro priate signal
for the desired pump time.
