2. Installer setup (off-site)
Please complete the installer setup before heading on site.
2.1 Create an installer account
When you open the MyDeltaSolar App for the first time, you should see the Login screen. Under the email field, please type “installer” and click the blue sign-in button to begin the installer account registration.
Next you should see the installer account registration page. Complete all the fields, and choose your limit for number of inverters commissioned per day. Note: the password must contain at least 1 number (0-9) and 1 special character (%@,./).
A pop-up message will appear, saying to wait for approval. This approval needs to be made by Delta – once you see this message, please contact Delta Energy Systems (Australia) either by email:
solarsupport@deltaww.com
or via the customer hotline 1300 335 823.
After approval has been granted, the installer account may be logged into freely and the RPI Flex inverter can now be connected to the grid.
3. Installer grid-connect (on-site)
If you are not currently on the Login screen, close the app and reopen it. Closing and reopening the app at any time will log out the current user and bring up the Login screen.
To sign into your installer account created in step 2 above, please enter in the email address used and add “/installer” at the end of the email address. Next, enter in the password chosen for your account and then click the blue sign-in button. See the image below for reference.
3.1 Connecting your mobile device to the inverter
After you have logged in for the first time, you should be prompted to connect to the inverter through Wi-Fi. In your phone’s settings, choose the RPI Flex inverter’s local network as shown below – the name of the network will be Delta-<RPI Flex Serial Number>.
When prompted to enter the network password, the default password for the local network is DELTASOL (case-sensitive).
3.2 Initial setting and connecting to the grid
Once you have connected to the inverter through Wi-Fi, head back to the MyDeltaSolar app – you will then be taken to the Initial Setting page.
Choose Australia as the country, and the inverter ID can be changed as necessary if the PVI system consists of multiple RPI Flex inverters. Click the blue set button, and a success message will popup.
After completing the initial setting, the RPI Flex inverter will begin to connect to the grid. You should see the inverter status as countdown, and shortly afterwards change to on grid with the production ramping-up slowly.
4. End-user cloud connection
In order to monitor the RPI Flex’s production data on the cloud, an end user account must be created, then the inverter linked to the cloud via the MyDeltaSolar app. If the end user does not want to use cloud monitoring, the “no” bubble should be selected during end user account registration in Section 4.1
. Should this be the case, the RPI Flex production data can only be
monitored via a Wi-Fi point-to-point connection between the mobile device and the inverter.
4.1 End-user account registration
If you are not currently on the Login screen, close the app and reopen it. Closing and reopening the app at any time will log out the current user and bring up the Login screen.
To create an end user account, click on Create account.
You will now see the end user register page – please fill in all of the fields, and note that the password must contain at least 1 number (0-9) and 1 special character (%@,./).
To complete the registration, click the blue register button at the bottom of the screen.
4.2 Load initial setting & cloud service terms and conditions
If the mobile device is already connected to the RPI Flex inverter through Wi-Fi, the Initial Setting page will appear and the three fields (shown below) will be filled automatically. If the mobile device is not connected to the inverter, you will be prompted to connect. Refer to Section 3.1 for details on how to connect via Wi-Fi. Once completed, click the blue set button.
Next you will see the MyDeltaSolar cloud service terms and conditions page. Please read through these terms and conditions – if you agree, tick the checkbox before clicking the blue OK button.
4.3 Change inverter network password
For security reasons, you will need to change the network password of the RPI Flex inverter from the default password. You have two options:
Set the inverter’s password to be the same as the end user account (see below on left) Set the new password to one of your own choice (see below on right)
Once the password fields are filled, you may click the blue set button.
OR
4.4 Connecting the inverter to a local network
This step involves connecting the RPI Flex inverter to your local network so that production data can be uploaded to the cloud.
Click the blue scan button, and wait till the scan for local networks is complete. You should now see a list of networks – click the bubble corresponding to the network you wish to connect your inverter to.
When prompted, enter in the password for the network, and click the blue connect button.
If you cannot see your network listed after scanning, then the signal strength of your
network may not be strong enough. You can try scanning again by clicking the scan button, however you may need to improve the signal strength of the network with a repeater or access point.
You should see a connect error, or a connect success message after approximately 30
seconds. The connect success message means your inverter is connected to the cloud, otherwise the connect error message means the connection to the cloud was not successful.
