Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1 Overview
The AGC7648 is a ToR/Leaf and EoR switch with deep buffers for Data Center Networks, as
well as Carrier network deployments. AGC7648 is not only offering 100GbE uplink ports but
also supporting virtualization features. Total I/O bandwidth is 800G and the oversubscription
ratio is up to 1.35:1. The switch will provide customers x86-based CPU as modular design
which offers the exibility for upgrading CPUs. The switch is SDN capable and will support
choices of NOS from third party software companies and as well as ONIE, OpenFlow for
today’s open network ecosystem. It also provides comprehensive capability on layer 2 and
layer 3 features, including SNMP, Spanning Tree, VLAN, QinQ, Trunk, QoS, RIP, OSPF,
IGMP, DVMRP, PIM-DM, PIM-SM, Access Control, etc. This product which aims for Data
Center and Carrier Networks also supports advance features such as MPLS, TRILL, PFC,
VEPA, QCN, VxLAN and NVGRE to meet Data Center high performance and virtualization
requirement.
