brush to use the total width (fig. 5).

USING THE APPLIANCE
The appliance is equipped with a variable suction
slide control (fig. 7).
It is advisable to set the slide control to minimum
before turning on the appliance.
- Maximum power: recommended for heavy dirt (small stones, soil etc.) on hard floors, fabric covered floors, deep pile carpets, corners, edges etc.
- Medium power: saves energy and reduces the noise level of the appliance. This is quite sufficient for removing dust from hard floors and fabric furnishings.
- Minimum power: perfect for vacuuming light, delicate objects and light fabric coverings as it prevents the material being sucked into the appliance making it difficult to clean.
Plug in the power cord and turn on the appliance
with the switch on the handle (fig. 8).
For cleaning under low furniture.
To make cleaning under low furniture easier, attach the extension pipe and insert the required tool (fig. 8). When using the carpet/floor brush, for maximum suction efficiency, turn the swivel joint of the brush 180°. ( fig. 9)
Using the electro-brush (available on request)
Electronic versions can be fitted with an electrobrush to clean carpets and rugs.
Attach the electro-brush (14) to the suction nozzle (8), pushing it in well. Connect the electro-brush plug to the power take-off on the body of the appliance (fig. 10). When the appliance is turned on, the electro-brush motor starts automatically. The appliance can now be used for cleaning all types of textile surface.
WARNING: do not use the electro-brush on rug fringes as these could become entangled in the roller.

Using as a vacuum cleaner, and shoulder strap models
For cleaning upholstery, sofas, mattresses, furniture etc., the appliance can easily be transformed into a practical, portable vacuum cleaner.
Fold back the handle and hook it to the back of the appliance. Attach the flexible hose plus appropriate tool to the end of the vacuum cleaner (fig.11) (multi-purpose nozzle for curtains and sofas, crevice tool for corners and cracks, round dusting brush for the surface of furniture, central heating radiators, door jambs etc.)
This allows the appliance to be moved by hand for easier cleaning.
The appliance is easier and more comfortable to use with the shoulder strap (fig.13) attached.
To attach the shoulder strap (if provided):
- fold away the vacuum cleaner handle;
- attach the rectangular ring to the rear of the appliance, sliding it around the handle release button (3) until it clicks (A, fig. 12).
- slip the shoulder strap ring over the suction nozzle (8), then attach the required accessory (B, fig.
12).
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Always unplug the appliance before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning work.
Insufficient suction
The full bag indicator (5) on the front panel becomes red when the dustbag needs replacing or if the air flow is obstructed.
In the second case, check the suction nozzle (8) and remove the obstruction that caused the light to come on.
Replacing the paper bag
Pull out the catch (A, fig.6) and open the front panel (7).
Remove the paper bag by pulling out the cardboard collar (fig.14), and replace it with a new one.
To insert the new bag, just slide the cardboard collar into the special guides, pushing the anti-closing device (B, fig. 6) at the same time.
Push it down well and close the panel.

Motor filter maintenance
The motor filter must always be kept clean to ensure the absolute cleanliness of the air expelled by the appliance, and to give maximum suction and optimum motor cooling.
Open the front panel (A, fig. 6), remove the filter holder (A, fig. 15), raise the small grid and remove the motor filter (B, fig. 15).
To maintain efficiency, just wash it occasionally in water and normal detergent.
Replacing the microfilter
Open the small hatch at the rear of the appliance (fig. 16), remove the microfilter, replace it with a new one and close.
The microfilter should be changed often (after every 2-3 dust bag replacements) to prevent the circulation of bacteria in the room.
If your appliance is fitted with an active carbon filter (fig. 17), this should also be changed after every 2-3 dust bag replacements or when it has become stiff, to ensure effective filtration of unpleasant odours.
Storing the appliance
Wind the cord around the special winding lugs on the appliance (fig. 18).
The appliance may be hung on a wall by fixing a screw and dowel to the wall and attaching the unit by way of the hole at the back of the handle (A, fig. 18), or it may be placed in a vertical position and leant against the wall.
