The SX280 is almost 50% smaller than the OptiPlex GX280 Small Form Factor chassis1while harnessing
powerful technologies like desktop Serial ATA hard drives. The SX280 can be installed in many orientations
using the optional installation brackets and is great for space constrained environments found in hospitals,
retail, call centers, and schools. For additional space savings, Dell offers virtual "all-in-one" flat panel
solutions that enable the SX280 to be installed on the back of a Dell UltraSharp

TM

17" or Dell E152 15" flat
panel. The SX280 and a Dell flat panel solution offer valuable space-saving benefits without the limitations of
fixed configuration "all-in-one" PCs.

The SX280 is designed to increase productivity in your organization by providing up to a 5X system
performance improvement4over four-year old legacy Dell systems and maximizing investment protection with
the implementation of the latest relevant technology.

The SX280 features the next generation Intel® 915G Express chipset and the Intel® Pentium® 4 800MHz
FSB processors with 1MB L2 cache supporting Hyper-Threading Technology as well as integrated DVI, a PCI­Express Gigabit

network connection, and dual channel DDR2 shared3memory.

The SX280 incorporates innovative new features and interfaces into the desktop PC market that is designed

New Levels of Flexibility

The OptiPlex SX280 offers exceptional flexibility. The system features modular, hot-swappable media bay
devices such as a CD-RW/DVD combo drive. With boot support for Dell USB memory keys, the system
virtually eliminates the need for floppy drives. Dell also offers an optional USB wireless networking device
that can be secured to the SX280 chassis.

Flexibility is further defined with cable management solutions that enhance security by locking down
peripherals such as the keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Even further security can be achieved with an optional
lock that helps secure the chassis cover and protect system components.

Easy To Manage

The OptiPlex 280 series offers stable system components that help assure customers of a stable image they
can qualify once and deploy throughout the system's lifecycle. OptiPlex also offers optional Dell
OpenManage™ client products designed to enable hardware and software components of an enterprise IT
