AIRCONDITIONER OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Dear Customer,
Defy air conditioners are designed to give efficient cooling and heating for your personal comfort. They are easy to operate and require little maintenance. It is important that you read these instructions carefully in order to familiarise yourself with the unit. We suggest that the service record which can be found on the other side of this pamphlet, be completed each time the unit is inspected. Keep this pamphlet in a safe place in order that compliance with section 4 of the warranty can be indicated.
Rating conditions
Defy air conditioners comply with SABS 1125 : 1996. Specification Room Air conditioners and heat pumps are tested and rated to SABS ISO 5151 at standard test conditions T1 at 230V 50 Hz.

OPERATION
1. Set the THERMOSTAT to heating or cooling
2. Press the ON pad next to the thermostat to start.
3. Press the FAN SPEED ON pad and by pressing repeatedly, select the desired fan speed.
Only High and Medium fan speeds may be selected during heating mode on CWC models.
4. To switch the unit off, press the OFF pad.
5. To select FAN ONLY mode, press the thermostat ON pad again or switch the unit off and restart by pressing the FAN ON pad.
The control memorises the last setting. Press the thermostat ON pad and the unit will resume operation at the previously selected temperature and fan speed.
A No-Volt cut out with manual re-set prevents the unit from re-starting after a power failure. A flickering thermostat pilot light, indicates that the unit has switched off due to a voltage problem. Please call an Authorised Dealer or have the power supply checked by a qualified electrician. A compressor start –time delay prevents immediate start up in an unbalanced condition after the unit has been switched off. This time delay is about 3 minutes .
