Dee Zee Running Board Installation Instructions
Congratulations on your purchase of a quality Dee Zee product. Dee Zee is

the criteria of manufacturing a custom-fit product which guarantees it to
be the easiest product to install.
Note: Please take time to read all of the instructions before beginning this installation.
War ning! Please check for wiring or other obstr uctions before drilling any holes into the vehicle. If it is necessar y to drill any holes into the vehicle, Dee Zee recommends putting a sealant or rust inhibitor around all holes drilled into the body of the vehicle.
War ning! It is the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner to check for tire clearance.
War ning! It is unlawful and dangerous to ride on r unning boards or side box boards while the vehicle is in motion.
Cleaning Instructions: To maintain the bright finish of your Dee Zee running boards, clean with a mild deter gent. For our stainless steel products and accessories, the application of a high grade automotive type wax is recommended.

Assemble the aluminum flat braces [C] to the board [A] using the carriage bolt [J], washer [G],
lock washer [H], and nut [I].
Finger tighten the bolts, but do not completely tighten at this time.
TOOLS REQUIRED
When assembled, the board should be located towards the bottom of the aluminum flat brace,
and the aluminum flat brace should angle up and away from the board as shown below.

Locate the mounting points on the under side of the rocker panel. Shown below is the inside of the
rocker panel for a regular cab truck. This is the driver's side and the front of the vehicle is to the right.
These mounting locations are the same for the extended cab and crew cab.

NOTE: DEPENDING ON WHERE YOUR VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED, THESE MOUNTING LOCATIONS
MAY HAVE WELD NUTS INSTEAD OF OPEN HOLES. IF THIS IS THE CASE, YOU WILL NOT USE
THE U-NUT [E] IN THE FOLLOWING STEP.

Attach the u-nuts [E] to the mounting locations by sliding them over the open holes.

Tighten bolts with a 13mm Socket or wrench.

Attach the brace [B] using two 8mm bolts [D] into the u-nuts installed in the previous step.
Do not completely tighten at this time.

Place the aluminum plates on the outside of the braces that are attached to the vehicle.
Attach the board to the braces using the 3/8" hex head bolts [F], flat washers [G], lock washers [H], and
nuts [I].
Do not completely tighten at this time.

Using a 13mm wrench/socket, tighten the bolts attaching the brace to the vehicle.
Using a 9/16" wrench/socket, tighten the carriage bolts attaching the aluminum plates to the board.
Using a 9/16" wrench/socket, tighten the bolts installed in step 6.
Make sure all bolts are tightened. Repeat steps for other side.
