To test your am plifier after up gra ding or assem bly, connect speakers to the
outp uts and turn the input volum e control all the w ay dow n. Install all the tubes
and turn the unit on.
Your B + voltage should be betw een 320 ~ 350 vdc. The bias voltage on your
outp ut tubes (pin 3) should be betw een 9.5 ~ 1 2 vdc w hen referen ced to ground.
AC ripple can be m easured on the outputs and should be less than 2 m illivolts.
The outputs on this am p float w ith no reference to ground - do not connect the
negative to ground or the chassis. If you do you w on't be able to SE R IE S the
outp uts w hen bridging the am p for m on o use.
This am p is built w ith a single point ground, located on one of pow er transform er
m ounting bolts. T he silver litz w ire is used to carry the ground buss for the entire
circuit. D o not use the chassis for ground.
For safety, be sure to use the ground on your pow er cord, connecting it to the
single ground point as everything else.
