IfnointegratedwirelessLAN/Bluetoothcombocardhasbeenpreinstalledin
yourcomputer,youcaninstallone,providedbyLenovo
installationprocedure,see“ReplacinganM.2wirelessLANcard”inUserGuide.

Attention:Thecomputercontainsanauthenticationmechanism.Ifyouinstall
anunauthorizedwirelesscommunicationcardthatisnotapprovedforusein
yourcomputer,thecomputerwillnotstart,butonlydisplaysanerrormessage

Theradiatedoutputpowerofthewirelesscommunicationcardauthorizedto
useforyourcomputerisfarbelowtheFCCradiofrequencyexposurelimits.
Nevertheless,itshallbeusedinsuchamannerthatthepotentialforhuman
contactduringnormaloperationisminimizedasfollows:

CAUTION:
TocomplywithFCCRFexposurecompliancerequirements,aseparation
distanceofatleast20cm(8inches)mustbemaintainedbetweenthe
antennasconnectedtothewirelesscommunicationcardsandallpersons.If
thedistancemaynotbemaintainedwhilethecomputerisclosed,youmust
selectsleepasthepowermodewhenclosingthedisplay.

•Eachdeviceisrestrictedtoindooruseduetoitsoperationinthe5150to5250
MHzfrequencyrange.FCCrequirestheseproductstobeusedindoorsfor
thefrequencyrange5150to5250MHztoreducethepotentialforharmful
interferencetoco-channelMobileSatellitesystems.

•Highpowerradarsareallocatedasprimaryusersofthe5250to5350MHzand
5650to5850MHzbands.Theseradarstationscancauseinterferencewith
and/ordamagethisdevice.

IV.SimultaneoususeofRFtransmitters

Yourcomputerisapprovedforsimultaneoususeoftheapprovedwireless
LAN/BluetoothcomboadapterandoneoftheapprovedwirelessWANadapters.
Foralistofthosetransmitters,referto“I.Approvedwirelessdevices”onpage1
andThinkPadRegulatoryNoticefortheWirelessWANAdapter.

MakesureofthefollowingconditionswhenyouuseanyotherexternalRFoption

1.WhenyouuseanyotherRFoptiondevice,youarerequestedtoconrm
thatthedeviceconformstotheRFSafetyrequirementandisapprovedto
useforyourcomputer.

ThereisnocerticationnumberofIndustryCanadaforthewirelesscommunication
cardshownontheenclosureofyourcomputer.Insteadyouwillndanindicator
pointingtothelocationoftheICCerticationnumberonthebottomofyour
computer.TheICcerticationnumberisafxedontheapprovedadapterinstalled
inthecorrespondingslot,andtheICCerticationnumberisvisiblepriorto
installation.ForthelocationoftheICCerticationnumberindicatorandtheslot,
see“FCCIDandICCerticationinformation”inUserGuide.

Attention:Thecomputercontainsanauthenticationmechanism.Y oucaninstall
orremoveeachwirelessadapterbyyourself.Ifyouinstallanunauthorized
