INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
LAT-NR291
LED Tail Lights for 1969 Firebird.
2. Remove the tail light housing hardware so the housing can be removed from the car. Remove
the housings from the vehicle carefully so the body gaskets are not damaged.
3. Next remove the lens to gain access to the housing. There are four screws that hold the lens in
place, remove the screws and separate the lens carefully.
4. Now is a good time to clean the lens and housing. If lenses are in bad shape a new set is
recommended.
5. Remove the round mounting plate from the bottom of the assembly. It is attached with two
lock nuts.

6. Pass the wires through the housing where the original bulb and socket were. Set the LED
assemblies into the housing so the studs extend out the hole in the bottom of the housing.
7. Feed the wires through the larger hole in the mounting plate. Guide the mounting plate to the
bottom of the housing. The flat side of the mounting plate should be down and the side with
the slight raised center should go up toward the housing. This will align the mount in the
original housing.
8. Slide the mounting plate over the two studs and tighten it down with the two #6 lock nuts . This
will secure the LED assembly into the housing, you are now ready for re-assembly.
9. Repeat the steps above for the second light.
10. Install the lens and reassemble the housing, insuring all gaskets are intact and in place.
11. Install the housing back into the vehicle.
12. Cut off the existing light socket as it will not be used. Do not strip the wires. Trim the wires
from LED assembly to appropriate length once mounted, making sure wires are routed cleanly
and securely.
13. Use the supplied moisture resistant pigtail connectors* to attach the wires from the new LED
assembly to the existing vehicle harness. Insert appropriate wire from vehicle harness and
mating LED assembly wire into a connector and crimp following instructions below.
*For the best connection, soldering is recommended. But to simplify installation, the supplied connectors will
provide a fast weather resistant connection.
