Cyron MLK Kits 2011 User Manual

Thank you for choosing CYRON products! At CYRON we are
committed to provide the latest lighting technology without any compromises.
To install this kit you should be familiar with basic electrical wiring. Should you need help installing the system you may contact CYRON customer support at 818-772-1900 x106 or customer@cyron.com. Alternatively, you may seek help from your local motorcycle shop for installation.
TOOLS NEEDED:
Wire stripper, Wire cutter, Electrical tape, Crimper may be used. NOTE: Soldering is not necessary with the use of CYRON solder-less terminal blocks. Alternatively, you may choose to solder and shrink tube the connections.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Never work on the bike with a hot engine Pay special attention to placement of the wires. Avoid moving parts or coming in direct contact
with the engine. Use wire ties to secure all the wires.
The Solder-less Terminal Block provided makes five simple and secure connections. Once all
connections are made, it is a good idea to cover the terminal block with electrical tape for additional protection from the elements.
1. Battery: Locate the positive (+) and negative (-) battery posts.
2. LED Placement: Choose locations where the light does not
get blocked by other objects. Shine light on the chrome parts to maximize the effectiveness of the LEDs. See picture below for some suggested areas. Take extra care so as the lights do not disturb yours, or other driver’s night vision.
3. Cleaning: Wipes have been provided to clean the LED
bodies (where the tape will be put) and the installation area free of grease and dust.
a Before proceeding make sure the wipes do not effect
the painted surfaces. Wipe the area and let it dry completely.
4. LED Attachment: CYRON CV6 LED can be mounted on its side or back. Choose one or the other
depending on the installation area and direction the light needs to project. Extra tape has been provided in case you decide to reposition the lights. Remove one side of the tape liner and place on the LEDs. Remove the other side of the liner (you may need a thin sharp object such as a knife to gently remove the liner) and place the lights in the designated areas. Avoid touching the adhesive surface.
5. Solder-less Terminal Block:
Solder-less terminal blocks have been provided to eliminate the need of crimping tools or soldering. Strip the wires half an inch. There are five slots on each Terminal Block. With the orange lever lifted all the way (90º), a single wire or a combination of few wires twisted together can be inserted in the slot. Closing the lever will secure the wire(s) in place. The order of connecting wires in the five openings does not matter. All five openings of the terminal block are electrically the same.
6. Wiring: See wiring diagram. Connect the positive (+) of the lights (normally indicate by one of: red jacket,
white jacket, copper-conductor or black wire with white stripe) to a terminal block. This will be the common junction for all the positive wires of the lights.
You may want to put a red mark on this terminal block to indicate common positive junction.
Wires can be twisted together and placed in any of the open slots. Connect the remote module +12Vout (Yellow wire) to one of the slots.
Pay special attention to placement of the wires. Avoid moving parts or coming in direct contact with the engine. Use wire ties to secure the wires.
Connect the negative (-) of the LEDs (normally tin-conductor, or black jacket) to terminal block. These wires can be twisted together and placed in any of the four open holes. Connect one of the negative (-) remote module leads (Black wire) to the terminal block.
Crimp ring terminals on positive lead (with Fuse Holder) and the negative (Black wire) of the Remote Module. Connect the rings to the battery (+) and (-) terminals. See Wiring Diagram for details.
7. Remote Module: DO NOT make any connection to gray wire. Find a location for the remote module so it
is away from the elements. The location will vary depending on make/type of the bike. Under the seat, in the tool box, inside permanent saddlebags are some of the choices. Make sure the seat or other parts around the module mounting location do not damage the unit. Use the two-sided tape provided to secure the remote module in place. The remote module is not water tight. Extra care should be taken to avoid contact with water.
8. Final Check: Double check all the connections. Use wires ties to secure all the wires out of sight and away
from any heat source and moving parts. Use the remote to turn the lights on/off. Enjoy your new CYRON LED Lighting Kit and Ride Safe!
