Crestron’s SmarTouchTMfamily of compact touchpanels has
long been a popular choice for all types of control applications.
A 5.7” touchscreen display and sleek, portable design result
in an ideal user-interface for controlling home theater,
boardrooms, training rooms, house of worship, and a
host of other uses.
A wide selection of SmarTouch touchpanels is offered.
All 1700-Series models feature 16-bit Isys®color graphics
on a bright QVGA display, plus optional hard-buttons
for improved tactile response. Take you pick of the
STX-1700CXP for long-range 2-way RF wireless
performance, the STX-1700C for 2-way wireless with
roaming capability, or the ST-1700C for cost-effective
1-way RF wireless. The new ST-1700CIR provides an IR
SmarTouchTMTouchpanels
wireless alternative, enabling wireless touchpanel control
in RF-prohibitive environments. For non-wireless applications,
choose the TPS-1700, providing all the same features in a
wired Cresnet configuration.
The STX-1700CXPW and STX-1700CW provide the
benefits of 2-way RF wireless with the added convenience
of a wall mount docking station. And, where cost is of the
greatest significance, the economical ST-1550C and
CT-1550 afford a choice of 1-way RF wireless or wired
operation in a low-cost package featuring a ColorTouch
passive matrix display.
With 9 models in all, SmarTouch touchpanels are clearly an
easy – and smart – choice.

SmarTouch™ 2-Way Spread Spectrum Wireless Touchpanel STX-1700CXP
The STX-1700CXP is a high-performance 2-way wireless
touchpanel featuring a brilliant 5.7" active matrix touchscreen
and optional pushbuttons in a stylish and compact portable
design. Long-range spread spectrum RF and Isys color
graphics combine to deliver outstanding touchpanel
performance with complete freedom of movement for
the most demanding control applications.
SmarTouchTM—A SmarTouch touchpanel offers an ideal
user-interface for controlling home theater, boardroom AV
and a host of other applications, providing a wide open
canvas for the creation of custom control screens tailored to
the user’s unique needs and tastes. Incredibly compact and
portable, the SmarTouch touchpanel does away with piles of
remotes and cryptic control panels, affording true “one-
touch” control over a broad range of complex devices and
systems.
2-Way Spread Spectrum RF Wireless—Crestron’s 2.4
GHz spread spectrum RF technology provides reliable
long-range wireless operation up to 150 feet indoors
using a single TPS-RFGWX RF gateway (sold separately).
Bidirectional communication supports true-feedback and
dynamic text capability to enable display of all kinds of data –
from system power status and audio settings to digital media
playlists, satellite radio program guides, alert messages,
room temperature, lighting levels, and much more.
Extended bandwidth makes the STX-1700CXP ideal for
applications employing large amounts of dynamic text or
multiple wireless touchpanels. “WiFi friendly” technology
permits selection from 10 possible bands within the 2.4 GHz
spectrum to prevent interference with 802.11 devices and
other non-Crestron RF equipment.
Isys®—The powerful Isys engine produces astonishing
16-bit full-color graphics with lightning-fast performance
and incredible versatility. The 32-bit Freescale ColdFire
microprocessor combines with an ingenious and ultra
efficient operating system to support high-resolution
graphics and images, dynamic text, animations, multimode
objects, subpages, and more.
Synapse™—Crestron's exclusive Synapse Image Rendering
Algorithm enables system programmers to produce amazing
graphics – faster and easier. Advanced antialiasing delivers
crisper, sharper objects and text. Enhanced 3D effects add
new depth and style. And because Synapse is native to the
touchpanel, memory requirements and upload time are
substantially reduced.

Quick-Touch Pushbuttons—The STX-1700CXP includes
smartouch
a button bezel kit which may be installed to provide ten
tactile pushbuttons for quick-touch access to frequently
used commands. In standby, the pushbuttons may be
operated without waking the touchscreen for extended
battery life. Custom engraving of the pushbuttons may be
attained using Crestron Engraver software.
Long-Life NiMH Batteries—A fast-charging NiMH battery
pack is included to provide long-lasting wireless operation,
with adjustable power management built in to preserves
battery life up to 20 hours in standby.
Docking Station/Charger—Without removing the battery
pack, the touchpanel can be placed in the ST-DSN docking
station (included) for easy recharging, simultaneously
providing operating power to the touchpanel. The docking
station may also be used to recharge a spare ST-BTPN
battery pack (sold separately). And if necessary, the
touchpanel may even be powered directly using the
PW-1215 power pack (included).

The ST-1700C is also ideal for use with Crestron's MC2W
Integrated Wireless Control System, providing a very cost-
effective yet powerful room control solution.

1-Way RF Wireless—Crestron’s proven RF wireless
technology affords an operational range of up to 300 feet
without the line-of-sight limitations typical of cheaper IR
(infrared) methods. Long-range 434 MHz 1-way RF
communication enables compatibility with any Crestron
control system via the CNRFGWA gateway (sold separately).
The ST-1550C is also ideal for use with Crestron's MC2W
Integrated Wireless Control System, providing a very cost-
effective yet powerful room control solution.
Programmable logic built into the ST-1550C enables virtual
button feedback and subpages, affording considerable
versatility for a 1-way touchpanel to deliver the “feel” of a
more expensive 2-way panel.
Long-Life NiMH Batteries—A fast-charging NiMH battery
pack is included to provide long-lasting wireless operation,
with adjustable power management built in to preserves
battery life up to 20 hours in standby.
Docking Station/Charger—Without removing the battery
pack, the touchpanel can be placed in the ST-DSN docking
station (included) for easy recharging, simultaneously
providing operating power to the touchpanel. The docking
station may also be used to recharge a spare ST-BTPN

Quick-Touch Pushbuttons—The ST-1700CIR includes

operated without waking the touchscreen for extended
battery life. Custom engraving of the pushbuttons may
be attained using Crestron Engraver software.
