Crestron’s SmarTouchTMfamily of compact touchpanels has
long been a popular choice for all types of control applications.
A 5.7” touchscreen display and sleek, portable design result
in an ideal user-interface for controlling home theater,
boardrooms, training rooms, house of worship, and a
host of other uses.
A wide selection of SmarTouch touchpanels is offered.
All 1700-Series models feature 16-bit Isys®color graphics
on a bright QVGA display, plus optional hard-buttons
for improved tactile response. Take you pick of the
STX-1700CXP for long-range 2-way RF wireless
performance, the STX-1700C for 2-way wireless with
roaming capability, or the ST-1700C for cost-effective
1-way RF wireless. The new ST-1700CIR provides an IR
SmarTouchTMTouchpanels
wireless alternative, enabling wireless touchpanel control
in RF-prohibitive environments. For non-wireless applications,
choose the TPS-1700, providing all the same features in a
wired Cresnet configuration.
The STX-1700CXPW and STX-1700CW provide the
benefits of 2-way RF wireless with the added convenience
of a wall mount docking station. And, where cost is of the
greatest significance, the economical ST-1550C and
CT-1550 afford a choice of 1-way RF wireless or wired
operation in a low-cost package featuring a ColorTouch
passive matrix display.

SmarTouch™ 2-Way Spread Spectrum Wireless Touchpanel STX-1700CXP
The STX-1700CXP is a high-performance 2-way wireless
touchpanel featuring a brilliant 5.7" active matrix touchscreen
and optional pushbuttons in a stylish and compact portable
design. Long-range spread spectrum RF and Isys color
graphics combine to deliver outstanding touchpanel
performance with complete freedom of movement for
the most demanding control applications.
SmarTouchTM—A SmarTouch touchpanel offers an ideal
user-interface for controlling home theater, boardroom AV
and a host of other applications, providing a wide open
canvas for the creation of custom control screens tailored to
the user’s unique needs and tastes. Incredibly compact and
portable, the SmarTouch touchpanel does away with piles of
remotes and cryptic control panels, affording true “one-
touch” control over a broad range of complex devices and
systems.
2-Way Spread Spectrum RF Wireless—Crestron’s 2.4
GHz spread spectrum RF technology provides reliable
long-range wireless operation up to 150 feet indoors
using a single TPS-RFGWX RF gateway (sold separately).
Bidirectional communication supports true-feedback and
dynamic text capability to enable display of all kinds of data –
from system power status and audio settings to digital media
playlists, satellite radio program guides, alert messages,
room temperature, lighting levels, and much more.
Extended bandwidth makes the STX-1700CXP ideal for
applications employing large amounts of dynamic text or
multiple wireless touchpanels. “WiFi friendly” technology
permits selection from 10 possible bands within the 2.4 GHz
spectrum to prevent interference with 802.11 devices and
other non-Crestron RF equipment.
Isys®—The powerful Isys engine produces astonishing
16-bit full-color graphics with lightning-fast performance
and incredible versatility. The 32-bit Freescale ColdFire
microprocessor combines with an ingenious and ultra
efficient operating system to support high-resolution
graphics and images, dynamic text, animations, multimode
objects, subpages, and more.
Synapse™—Crestron's exclusive Synapse Image Rendering
Algorithm enables system programmers to produce amazing
graphics – faster and easier. Advanced antialiasing delivers
crisper, sharper objects and text. Enhanced 3D effects add
new depth and style. And because Synapse is native to the
touchpanel, memory requirements and upload time are
substantially reduced.

Quick-Touch Pushbuttons—The STX-1700CXP includes
smartouch
a button bezel kit which may be installed to provide ten
tactile pushbuttons for quick-touch access to frequently
used commands. In standby, the pushbuttons may be
operated without waking the touchscreen for extended
battery life. Custom engraving of the pushbuttons may be
attained using Crestron Engraver software.
Long-Life NiMH Batteries—A fast-charging NiMH battery
pack is included to provide long-lasting wireless operation,
with adjustable power management built in to preserves
battery life up to 20 hours in standby.
Docking Station/Charger—Without removing the battery
pack, the touchpanel can be placed in the ST-DSN docking
station (included) for easy recharging, simultaneously
providing operating power to the touchpanel. The docking
station may also be used to recharge a spare ST-BTPN
battery pack (sold separately). And if necessary, the
touchpanel may even be powered directly using the
PW-1215 power pack (included).

ST-DSN Docking Station for SmarTouch
The ST-DSN Docking Station is a microprocessor
based battery charger for Crestron SmarTouch
wireless touchpanels. The docking station design
facilitates fast recharging of the ST-BTPN battery
pack while it is installed in the touchpanel. The ST-DSN
also provides operating power to the touchpanel while
the battery is recharging. LED indicators clearly show
charging status.
For ultimate flexibility, the ST-DSN also supports
recharging of a standalone ST-BTPN while it is not
installed in a touchpanel. This makes it possible
to keep one battery pack charged while another
is in use.
The ST-DSN includes a PW-1215 power supply, which

DA-1700CW Wall Mount Docking Assembly
The DA-1700CW Docking Assembly is a wall mounted
microprocessor based battery charger designed
specifically for the STX-1700CW and STX-1700CXPW
wireless touchpanels. When docked in the
DA-1700CW, the touchpanel operates as a wired
touchpanel with a direct connection to the Cresnet
network. The docking assembly also provides
operating power to the touchpanel while
simultaneously charging the battery pack. A software-
controlled latch secures the touchpanel into the
docking assembly, and is released upon pressing
a button or entering a code on the touchpanel.
One DA-1700CW is included with the STX-1700CW or
STX-1700CXPW. Additional units may be installed to
provide multiple docking locations. Installation of each

CNRFGWA 1-Way RF Gateways
The CNRFGWA is an RF receiver that allows Crestron
1-way RF wireless touchpanels and handheld remotes
to communicate with the control system via the
Cresnet network. Each CNRFGWA affords a range of
approximately 300 feet. Extended range can be
achieved by distributing multiple gateways throughout
a structure. Each gateway behaves as a Cresnet
slave device requiring just one Cresnet wire to each
gateway location.
Two CNRFGWA models are available, the CNRFGWA
and the CNRFGWA-418. The CNRFGWA is compatible
with Crestron devices that transmit 1-way RF at
434 MHz only. For 418 MHz 1-way devices, use the
CNRFGWA-418. For installations employing both 434
MHz and 418 MHz devices, both gateway models

CNANT High-Performance Extension Antenna
The CNANT is a high performance indoor antenna
designed to surpass the performance of the standard
antenna supplied with Crestron 1-way RF gateways
such as the CNRFGWA, CNRFGWA-418, and MC2W.
Its ground plane design and omni-directional
reception pattern afford extended range in all
directions. The CNANT may be mounted anywhere

The C2N-IRGW-1G IR Gateway is a 1-way infrared
receiver for Crestron IR wireless handheld remotes
and touchpanels. It is also compatible with third-party
IR remotes utilizing the RC5 command set.
The C2N-IRGW-1G is designed to fit in a 1-gang
electrical box using a Decora®style faceplate (not
included). Its entire visible face consists of a smoked
plastic lens providing a neutral appearance suitable

CNRJ11 4-Wire Terminal Block to RJ11 Cresnet Converter
The CNRJ11 is a 1-to-1 converter used to adapt
between a standard 4-wire Cresnet cable and a
modular Cresnet cable. One 4-pin connector and
one 6-pin RJ11 jack are provided, wired in parallel.
A single CNRJ11 is included with each SmarTouch

ST-PK Programming Cable Kit

INTERFACE CABLES
The ST-PK is a programming cable kit for SmarTouch
wireless touchpanels and most Isys®touchpanels. It
is used only for loading touchpanel files, updating
firmware, and configuring the touchpanel prior to
operation. The ST-PK may also be used to update
firmware and adjust the digital audio signal processing
in Crestron’s 7.1 surround sound processors and
room solution boxes.
