Rack Mount Kit: CNXRMAK

Description

The CNXRMAK is a 2-space rack mount kit that used to install up to three Crestron C2N-HBLOCK
Cresnet



distribution blocks or three CNPWS-75 Cresnet power supplies (or any combination thereof)
into a 19-inch EIA equipment rack. The kit consists of the black finished 2U mounting plate (part #
2004738, shown below) and twelve (12) 6-32, 3/8” pan head Phillips screws (part # 2007225). The
only tools required for installation are a #2 Phillips 1/4-inch hex bit and an inch-pound torque driver.

Rack Mounting

WARNING: To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing this unit in a rack, you must take
special precautions to ensure that the system remains stable. The following guidelines are provided to
ensure your safety:

 The unit should be mounted at the bottom of the rack if it is the only unit in the rack.

 When mounting this unit in a partially filled rack, load the rack from the bottom to the top with the

heaviest component at the bottom of the rack.

 If the rack is provided with stabilizing devices, install the stabilizers before mounting or servicing

the unit in the rack.

Installation Instructions

Component Mounting Locations

The CNXRMAK can accommodate up to three C2N-HBLOCKs or CNPWS-75s or any combination
of each. Three sets of mounting holes have been drilled into the mounting plate for each component.
As shown below, C2N-HBLOCK (s) and/or CNPWS-75(s) are mounted to the holes in the appropriate
location(s).

Component Mounting and Rack Installation

Refer to the procedure below and complete the following steps for proper installation of a
C2N-HBLOCK (C2N-HBLOCKmounting plate must be removed) or CNPWS-75 onto the
CNXRMAK and then into a rack.

1. Position the CNXRMAK mounting plate so that the rear of the plate faces the rear of the
component. (The barcode label should be at the bottom of plate, facing the component.)

2. As shown in the diagram below, align mounting holes on the plate with threaded holes in
the rear of the component. Using a #2 Phillips 1/4-inch hex bit and an inch-pound torque
driver, install four screws (supplied) and tighten to 11-inch pounds (1.24 newton-meters)
to secure component.

3. If installing another C2N-HBLOCK or CNPWS-75, repeat this procedure. If not
installing another component, refer to the diagram on the next page and install the
CNXRMAK into rack with components facing inward. (Rack mounting hardware is not
supplied.)
