Cresnet Connections
Note: Before making any connections, CRESTRO N recommends that all power is off and the installer reviews the latest revision of the network interconnection drawing (DOC5411i).
Refer to figure 4 and connect the CH-TEMP-MW to the Cresnet network via a Cresnet network cable (CRESNET cable). This cable is not supplied with the CH-TEMP-MW but can be obtained from Crestron International.

Cresnet ID
Every equipment and user interface within the network requires a unique identity code (NET ID). These codes are recognized by a two-digit hexadecimal number from 03 to FE. The NET ID of each unit must match an ID code specified in the Simpl Windows program. (For a CH-TEMP-WM the NET ID can be set between E0 and EF).
Use the following method to change NET ID of the CH-TEMP-WM.
1. Locate the miniature rotary switches on the bottom face (refer to figure 5). This is rotary switch will only change the least-significant digit or letter of the
unit his NET ID since the most-significant digit or letter is fixed set to E.
2. Use a small screwdriver and rotate the arrow in the center of the rotary switch to the position of the least-significant digit or letter of the unit's ID
CODE that you desire.
For example when the rotary switch is placed to 2, the CH-TEMP-MW is set to NET ID E2.

Power Feedback
When the CH-TEMP-WM is connected to the cresnet (see page 5) a bleu LED will illuminate. This bleu LED can be disconnected by removing the jumper that is located next to the rotary switch. When this jumper is removed the CH-TEMP-WM will k eep on working but no LED feedback will be shown.

Programming
The next subsections describe a sample SIMPL Windows program that utilizes a CH-TEMP-MW. It provides a description of how to actually create the SIMPL Windows program.
NOTE: The following descriptions assume that the reader has knowledge of SIMPL Windows. If not, please refer to the extensive help information provided with the software.

Configuration manager
A CH-TEMP-MW needs to be defined as a CNTS-N
for leatest OPS and software versions*
in Simpl Windows (Figure 6).

The CNTS-N symbol has 1 analog output that represents the temperature (Figure 7).

Example Program
Show temperature on a Touchpanel.
This example shows how you can send the measured temperature from the CH-TEMPMW to a touchpanel. In order to show the desired value on a touchpanel you need to add a scaler to the program. For each type of readout, different scaler settings are needed.

Troubleshooting
Table 1 Provides corrective action for possible trouble situations. If further assistance is required, please contact a Crestron Technical Support representative or submit your question on the Crestron True Blue On Line Service (www.crestron.com
Table 1: Troubleshooting Guide
)
TROUBLE
CH-TEMP-WM does not function
The Blue LED is not lighting up when Cresnet is supplied.
The measured temperature is incorrect.
Incorrect value is shown on the touchpanel.
Crestron International • 2 Oude Keerbergsebaan • 2820 Rijmenam • Belgium Tel: +32 15 50 99 50 • info@crestron-int.be • www.crestron-int.be
POSSIBLE CAUSE(S) CORRECTIVE ACTION
CH-TEMP-WM is not communicating on the network.
CH-TEMP-MW is not receiving 24V power at the NET connect or or jumper is removed at the back.
The CH-TEMP-MW is placed in a wrong location. Causing wind, heating system,… to interfere with the sensor.
The properties of the digital gauge in VTPRO-E are not set OK or the scaler is wrongly programmed.
Enter Viewport/Toolbox in SIMPL Windows. Verify network connection to CHTEMP-WM (it will report as a CNTS-N).
Verify “CRESNET Connection s” on page 5. Confirm power is supplied to the unit. Or put the jumper back in place .
Move the CH-TEMP-WM to another place of the room. So that interference is minimal.
Verify that the correct decimal position and amount of digits is set in the properties of the digital gauge. Check that the scaler in Simpl Windows is set OK.
