Getting Started
Your Creative Wireless Headset CB2462 with Bluetooth® technology is one of the latest
and most flexible headsets from Creative. Read on to learn how to get started with your
new device!

Charge Your Headset
Fully charge your headset before using it for the first time. To charge your headset, connect
the power adapter to your headset’s mini-B USB charging port. During charging, the red
LED lights up. When your headset is fully charged, the blue LED lights up. This takes
approximately three hours. Consequently, charging your headset takes two hours.

Pair Your Headset and Mobile Phone
Before using your headset for the first time, pair it with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone.
1. Place your headset within one meter (three feet) of your mobile phone.
2. Turn on your headset by pressing and holding the Multi-function button until the blue
LED flashes three times.
3. Press and hold the Multi-function button and Volume Decrease button until the blue
and red LEDs flash alternately. You have two minutes to pair your devices before your
headset quits pairing mode.

4. Turn on your mobile phone’s Bluetooth feature. For more information, see your
mobile phone’s documentation.
5. Set your mobile phone to detect Bluetooth-enabled devices.
6. From the list that appears on your mobile phone, select CB2462Creative.
7. When prompted by your mobile phone for a passkey, enter 0000. The blue LED on
your headset flashes three times when the devices are paired successfully. Some mobile
phones may require an additional connection step after pairing.
You can now start to make and receive calls from your headset. For more usage
information, see section “Using Your Headset” on page 5.
NOTES • You can also pair your headset to a computer with your Bluetooth adapter
(available separately). For more information, see your device manufacturer’s
documentation.
NOTES • To quit pairing mode, press the Multi-function button.
• When you are not using your headset and your mobile phone is turned on, your
headset goes into standby mode. The blue LED flashes once every five seconds.
• When using your headset with your mobile phone, make sure that they are
within 10 meters (32.8 feet) of each other. This distance may vary depending on
your mobile phone’s settings, operation and environment.

Adjust Your Headset
Your headset can be worn over your left or right ear. Refer to the diagram below to
reposition the ear hook for use over the right ear.
A feature of this headset is the 3-way ear hook adjustment to allow for the best fit.

Using Your Headset
Usage* Action
Turning on your headset
Press and hold the Multi-function button until the blue LED flashes
three times.
Turning off your headset
Press and hold the Multi-function button until the red LED flashes three
times.
Going into pairing mode
Turn on your headset. Press and hold the Multi-function button and
Volume Decrease button until the blue and red LEDs flash alternately.
Answering a call
Press the Multi-function button. You can also answer the call using your
mobile phone.
Ending a call
Press the Multi-function button. You can also end a call using your
mobile phone.
Rejecting a call Press the Multi-function button for three seconds.
Muting a call
Press and hold the Volume Increase button for three seconds. To
unmute a call, repeat the action.
Holding a call
Press and hold the Volume Decrease button for three seconds. To
resume a call, repeat the action.
Answering a second call
and putting the first caller
on call waiting
Press and hold the Volume Decrease button for three seconds. To
switch calls, repeat the action.
Making a conference call Press and hold the Volume Increase button for six seconds.
Toggling between your
headset and mobile phone
Press and hold the Volume Decrease button for six seconds.

Headset LED behavior
Your headset’s LED indicates the mode your headset is in.
Using Voice Dial
Press the Multi-function button once and when you hear an alert tone,
say the voice tag.
Dialling the last called
number
Press and hold the Volume Decrease button for three seconds.
Adjusting volume
Press the Volume Increase button to increase the volume.
Press the Volume Decrease button to decrease the volume.
LED behavior Meaning
Blue LED flashes three times. Headset is turned on.
Red LED flashes three times. Headset is turned off.
Blue LED flashes once every five seconds.
Headset is in Standby
mode.
Blue LED flashes once every 10 seconds. Call is in progress.
Red LED flashes once every five seconds. Battery is almost depleted.
Blue and red LEDs flash alternately. Headset is in pairing mode.
Red LED lights up. Charging is in progress.
Blue LED lights up. Headset is fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions
My headset and mobile phone are not pairing. What do I do?
Do one or more of the following:
• Check that your mobile phone’s Bluetooth feature is turned on.
• Make sure that your headset is turned on, fully charged and is within one meter (three
feet) of your mobile phone when pairing.
• Check that there are no obstructions, such as walls or other electronic devices, between
your headset and mobile phone.
What is the optimal operating distance between my headset and mobile
phone?
When using your headset with the mobile phone, make sure the working distance between
your headset and mobile phone remains within 10 meters (32.8 feet). This distance may
vary depending on your mobile phone’s settings, operation and environment. Your headset
works best when there are no obstructions (for example, walls or other electronic devices)
between your headset and mobile phone. If your headset is too far away from the mobile
phone, you may hear some crackling sounds.
Will my headset interfere with my computer or car’s electronic devices?
You should not experience any interference when using your headset near standard
consumer-grade electronics equipment.
Can other Bluetooth mobile phone users accidentally listen in on my
conversation?
When you pair your headset to your mobile phone, you are creating a private link between
both devices. The Bluetooth technology prevents monitoring by third parties.
Can I use my headset with other products?
Your headset will work with all Bluetooth version 1.1 or higher devices. These devices,
however, must have the Headset or the Handsfree profile. For more information on
international Bluetooth standards, go to www.bluetooth.com.
