6. Fuel and lubrication
Warning! Gasoline is very flammable. Do not smoke or approach an open flame, heating source or spark to the area where fuel is handled. Turn off the trimmer and let it
cool down before filling the tank. Always re-fuel the trimmer outdoors. Always move the
trimmer at least 3 metres away from the fuelling station before you start the engine.
Mix the gasoline (95 octane unleaded) with a good quality two-stroke oil appropriate
for air-cooled two-stroke engines.
• The engine is meant to be used with unleaded fuel.
• Use at least 87 octane fuel.
• Use unleaded fuel to protect the environment and your own health.
• Bad quality fuel or oil can cause damage to the gaskets, the fuel leads or the fuel tank.
6.1 Mixing the fuel
Please note! Be very thorough with the mixing of the fuel.
1. Measure the gasoline and the oil carefully before mixing.
2. Pour a small amount of gasoline in a clean container appropriate for fuel.
3. Pour in all the oil and shake the container.
4. Add the rest of the gasoline and shake the container for at least a minute. Certain oils
are harder to mix, therefore it is important to shake the container, so that the oil and the
gasoline are mixed. The engine lasts much longer if the fuel is well-mixed. If the fuel is
not mixed well and the mixture is too diluted, the risk is greater for engine damage.
5. Mark the container appropriately, so there can be no misunderstanding regarding
its content.
6. The fuel and oil mix is only appropriate for use with two-stroke engines whereas
pure gasoline is appropriate for 4-stroke engines, therefore it is very important to
mark the containers.
Please note! Do not mix great quantities of fuel, as it is meant to be used within one month.
Warning! Use only a fuel and oil mix for two-stroke engines! The use of pure gasoline
without oil can lead to damages on the engine which are not covered by the guarantee.

6. Re-fuelling the trimmer
1. Loosen and remove the tank lid.
2. Fill with fuel up to about 80% of the tank.
3. Screw the lid on tightly and wipe up any spillage on and around the trimmer.
Warning!
1. The re-fuelling must take place outdoors.
2. Move the trimmer at least 3 metres away from the fuelling station before you start
the engine.

Please note! Pull the starting handle straight out. If you pull sideways, the friction
against the edge of the sleeve will wear out the string prematurely. Hold on to the
string after starting the engine and let it pull back slowly. Never let the starting handle
snap back on its own, as it can become entangled or break something on the trimmer.
Warning! Only start the engine in well-ventilated environments, preferably outdoors.
The emissions are dangerous if inhaled.
Please note! See section “Troubleshooting” if the trimmer does not start after repeated
attempts.
Breaking in the engine
During the first few hours of operation, do not let the trimmer operate on full speed,
so that the engine parts can be broken in and the engine can manage operating at full
speed. Check after the breaking in period that all the screws and nuts are tight.
