The Corsair Obsidian 800D case features a 4-drive SATA hot-swap bay. Each
slot has a removable tray which holds 1 drive. These trays can accommodate
either standard 3.5” hard drives (HDs) or 2.5” solid state drives (SSDs).
Mounting is quick and easy for each type of drive.

SSDs require only 2 screws to

Note that the SATA power and data connectors must be mounted away from the
tray handle.

SSD Mounted
Note the offset of the SSD. This offset insures proper alignment with the connector
mounted into the hot swap back plane.

Mounting a Hard Drive
Hard drives use the holes on each side of the drive. Place screws into each
of the 3 holes on each side of the drive for the most secure mounting. Note
that the SATA power and data connectors are mounted away from the tray
handle

The Drives Mounted
The drive trays conform to the SATA standard for physical dimensions.
When properly mounted, the drives are correctly oriented to be inserted into
the hot-swap drive bay. This enables fast and easy drive swapping.
