de Conceptronic CTVDIGU installeert.

Deze handleiding helpt u volledig gebruik te kunnen maken van alle functies van de Digital
TV Box. Hij is met zorg samengesteld, hoewel er geen garantie wordt gegeven over de

OPMERKING: EN 55022 stralingseisen zijn verdeeld in 2 klassen:

• Klasse A is voor bepaalde zakelijke regio’s

• Klasse B is for bepaalde huishoudelijke regio’s.

Om te bepalen welke classificatie van toepassing is op uw computer, bekijk het CE
registratie label op de achterkant van het apparaat. Als het label Class A rating
aangeeft, is de volgende waarschuwing van toepassing op uw apparaat:

RF INTERFERENCE WAARSCHUWING: Dit is een klasse A product. In een
huishoudelijke omgeving kan dit product radio frequentie storing geven (RF). In dat
geval moet de gebruiker adequate maatregelen moeten nemen. Dit product is
geclassificeerd in een Klasse B huishoudelijke omgeving.

Testverklaring

Dit product is niet geëvalueerd in the Surge test, IEC 60065. Het product zal
compliant zijn met de Surge test, IEC 60065, wanneer deze wordt gebruikt in
coordinatie met het host product.

Overzicht TV Box

Hartelijk dank voor het aanschaffen van de Digital TV Box. Dit product is
speciaal voor u ontworpen om digitale televisie via de USB kabel op uw PC of
notebook te bekijken, opnemen en/of af te spelen. Het apparaat wordt gevoed
via de USB interface en is dus niet afhankelijk van een externe voeding,
waardoor het mogelijk is om hoge kwaliteit TV thuis, op kantoor, in het café of
op het vliegveld te ontvangen en te bekijken.

van een opgenomen

12. Play: Speelt een opgenomen
video af.

13. Record: Begint de opname van
digitale video.

14. Nummertoetsen: Druk op een
nummertoets voor het gewenste
kanaal.

15. Power: Schakelt de TV Box uit
en sluit Digital TV af.

Starten

Starten

Plaatsen van de batterij in de afstandsbediening

Om een batterij in uw afstandsbediening te plaatsen, doe het volgende:

1. Neem een puntig voorwerp zoals bijv. een potlood om het onderliggende
knopje aan de achterzijde van de afstandsbediening in te drukken (1) en
schuif het batterijklepje in de richting van het pijltje (2), terwijl u het knopje
ingedrukt houdt.

2. Plaats een CR2025 3V Lithium batterij in het batterijvakje.

3. Schuif het klepje in de richting van het pijltje tot het terug op zijn positie
vastklikt.

Opmerking: Wanneer u de afstandsbediening voor het eerst gebruikt,
open het batterijvakje en verwijder het plastic hoesje om de batterij vóór
gebruik.

Digitale TV installatie

•

Installeer eerst de applicatie en drivers VOORDAT u de Digital TV box

aansluit op uw PC!

•

De installatieschermen in dit deel zijn van toepassing op Windows XP.

Deze kunnen afwijken, afhankelijk van welke versie Windows u gebruikt.

•

DirectX 9.0 word automatisch geinstalleerd, indien er een eerdere versie

is geinstalleerd op uw PC of Laptop.

Digital TV, meegeleverd op de software CD, is het software programma
waarmee u digitale TV kan bekijken, opnemen en afspelen. Om Digital TV te
installeren op uw computer, doe het volgende:

1. Stop de software CD in uw CD-ROM drive. Als de installatie niet
automatisch start, dubbelklik dan op het Setup.exe bestand op de CD.

2. U wordt gevraagd in welke taal u de installatie wilt voortzetten. Selecteer
de taal die u wenst en klik op

3. Het installatieprogramma zal de drivers installeren voor de TV Box. Klik op
OK.

4. Om de drivers te installeren. Windows zal 3x vragen om de drivers te
installeren. Klik op Continue Anyway. Wanneer de installatie is afgerond,
klikt u op

OK

5. Klik op

Next

om de installatie te starten. Klik op

Change

om in een andere

map te installeren of klik op Next, dan vervolgens op Install om de
installatie voort te zetten met de standaard instellingen.

6. Klik op

Finish

om de installatieprocedure af te ronden.

Starten

De Digitale TV Box aansluiten

Sluit als volgt de antenne en de USB kabel aan op de TV Box:

1. Sluit de antenne aan op de antennejack op de TV Box

2. Sluit het kleine uiteinde (Type A) van de USB kabel aan in de USB poort op
de TV Box. Sluit het grote uiteinde van de USB kabel aan in een vrije USB
poort op uw PC of Laptop.

Opmerking:

• Benamingen van de DVB-T USB adapter drivers en firmware loader
kunnen verschillen per versie van de TV Box.

• Alle schermen in dit deel hebben betrekking op XP. Sommige
schermen en mappen kunnen afwijken, afhankelijk van de Windows
versie die u gebruikt.

3. Een icoon dat uw computer nieuwe hardware detecteert, zal in uw taakbalk

verschijnen en de installatiewizard zal opstarten. Klik op Install the software

automatically (Recommended) en klik dan op Next in het Found New
Hardware

scherm om de driver installatie te starten.

4. Klik op Continue Anyway om door te gaan met de installatie.

5. klik op Finish om de installatie van de firmware loader af te sluiten.

6. Uw computer zal voor de tweede keer nieuwe hardware detecteren. Klik
nogmaals op

Install the software automatically (Recommended)

en klik

dan op

Next

om de installatie van de driver te starten.

om door te gaan met de installatie.

8. Klik op Finish om de installatie van de firmware loader af te ronden.

Opmerking: Zorg ervoor dat u de Digital TV Box altijd op dezelfde USB

poort aansluit. Wanneer u de Digital TV Box na installatie aansluit op een
andere USB poort, zult u de driver opnieuw moeten installeren.

9. De geïnstalleerde software zal automatisch naar kanalen zoeken wanneer u
Digital TV voor het eerst opstart.

TV Kijken

Digital TV

Digital TV stelt u in staat om simpel en met gemak digitale TV signalen te
bekijken, opnemen en af te spelen. Het simpele gebruikersinterface van deze
applicatie maakt TV kijken op uw PC snel en gemakkelijk.

Het Digitale TV controlepaneel bestaat uit de volgende toetsen:

TV scherm: geeft het huidige programma of videobestand weer.

1. Volume: Voor het aanpassen van het volume.

2. Status Scherm: geeft informatie weer over het huidige TV programma of
videobestand.

3. SNR: Signal to Noise Ratio: geeft de RF signaalsterkte weer.

4. RF Power: Geeft het RF's signaal sterkte weer.

5. Mute: Schakelt het geluid uit.

6. Time Shifting: Snelle opnames tot 10 minuten.

7. Capture: Maakt van het huidige beeldframe een afbeelding.

8. Hide: Minimaliseert het Digital TV scherm.

9. Zoom: Maximaliseert het Digital TV scherm.

10. Close: Sluit het Digital TV scherm.

11. Pause: Pauzeert weergave.

12. Rate: Versnelde weergave. Verandert het PIP scherm in PIP modus.

13. Stop: Stopt de weergave.

14. >: Volgend hoofdstuk van een videobestand of verandert het TV kanaal.

15. <: Vorig hoofdstuk van een videobestand of verandert het TV kanaal.

16. Play: Weergave van een video.

17. Record: Begint opname van het huidige TV programma.

18. Setting: Configureer video capture en TV instellingen.

19. PIP: Schakelt tussen de verschillende Picture-In-Picture (PIP) modes.
Wordt alleen ondersteund door de USB 2.0 versie.

20. EPG: Electronic Program Guide (EPG) geeft details weer over het kanaal, zoals
welke programma’s er draaien en vergemakkelijkt het voorgeprogrammeerd
opnemen .

21. MTS: Activeert MTS om te luisteren naar een SAP (Secondair Audio Programma)
tijdens het TV kijken.

22. Autoscan: Automatisch zoeken naar kanalen.

23. Open File: Opent een videobestand.

24. Channel List: Lijst van beschikbare kanalen.

25. Progress Bar: Verschuif het balkje om naar een specifiek punt in de video te gaan.

26. About: Geeft informatie over Digital TV, zoals het versienummer.

Het Popup Menu

Het popup menu kan worden gebruikt als een andere manier om de basis functies te
gebruiken. Druk op de rechtermuisknop om het te laten verschijnen.

Play: Start weergave van een videobestand.

Stop: Stopt weergave.

Pause: Pauzeert de weergave.

Channel + / -: verandert het TV kanaal.

Record: Beginnen met de opname van het huidige TV programma.

Capture: Maakt van het huidige beeld een afbeelding.

Full Screen: Maximaliseert het scherm.

Aspect Ratio:
Verandert het beeldformaat van standaard TV naar Widevision.

Setting: Configureert video capture en TV instellingen.

Close: Sluit de TV box af.

Toetsenbord sneltoetsen

Naast de toetsen op het controlepaneel en het popup menu, kunt u ook de
toetsenbordsneltoetsen gebruiken. De sneltoetsen op het toetsenbord zijn:

Enter toets: Begint de weergave van TV of een videobestand .
+/- toetsen: Past het volume aan.

/ Πtoetsen:

Verandert het TV kanaal.

Spatiebalk: Stopt het afspelen van TV of een videobestand.
F2:

Configureer verschillende video capture en TV instellingen.

C toets:

Maakt van het huidige beeldframe een afbeelding.

Zoeken naar TV kanalen

Nu dat u de TV Box heeft geïnstalleerd met de nodige software, kunt u beginnen
met het zoeken naar beschikbare TV kanalen en het kijken van digitale TV. Om
te zoeken naar beschikbare TV kanalen, doe het volgende:

1. Klik op de AutoScan toets op het Digital TV controlepaneel.

2. De scanprocedure zal ongeveer 4 tot 6 minuten duren. Klik op

OK

om verder te gaan.

3. De TV Box start met het zoeken naar beschikbare TV signalen.

De tuner zoekt over de 6, 7, en 8 MHz banden voor digitale programma’s.
U kunt altijd op Cancel drukken om het zoekproces te stoppen.

Opmerkingen:

• Zorg ervoor dat u in een open omgeving bent met een goed signaal
tijdens het zoeken, om alle kanalen gemakkelijk te kunnen vinden.

• Als er geen TV programma’s gevonden zijn, kunnen de < en > toetsen
alleen gebruikt worden om te schakelen.

• Wanneer u reist naar een ander land of een andere regio, zult u
opnieuw moeten zoeken naar TV kanalen.

TV Kijken

Wanneer de TV Box klaar is met zoeken, laat het eerst beschikbare kanaal
zien op het scherm.

U kunt op de volgende manieren: van TV kanaal veranderen:

• Druk op de < en > toetsen op het Digital TV controlepaneel, links en rechts
toets op uw toetsenbord, de CH S en T toetsen op de afstandsbediening, of
Channel + / - in het popup menu om te veranderen van kanaal.

• Druk op een nummertoets om het gewenste kanaal te selecteren.

• Druk op de

Recall

toets op de afstandsbediening om te schakelen naar

het vorig bekeken kanaal.

Picture-In-Picture modus

Picture-In-Picture (PIP) modus stelt u in staat tegelijkertijd verschillende
kanalen te bekijken.

1. Druk op de Setting (PIP) toets op het Digital TV controlepaneel om een

tweede kanaal weer te geven in een kleiner scherm, in het hoofdscherm.

2. Druk nogmaals op de toets om zes verschillende kanalen weer te geven

met dezelfde grootte.

3. Nogmaals drukken schakelt de functie uit.

Andere functies van de (PIP) modus.

• Druk op om het kanaal te veranderen in het PIP scherm.

• Dubbelklik op het PIP scherm om het kanaal te verwisselen met die van
het hoofdscherm.

• Het PIP scherm kan van formaat veranderd worden en op elke positie in
het scherm worden gezet.

Kijk voor meer informatie bij Video instellen op pag 22 over PIP instellingen.

Opmerkingen:

• PIP modus is alleen beschikbaar als de verschillende kanalen door
hetzelfde TV station uitgezonden worden.

• Wanneer een TV station minder dan zes kanalen uitzendt, zal dit in de
overige schermen van de zes kanaals PIP modus zwart beeld geven.

• Wordt alleen door de USB 2.0 versie ondersteund.

• Als de videokaart VMR 9 hardware acceleratie niet ondersteunt, zal de PIP
functie niet beschikbaar zijn.

• De Digital TV Box stelt u in staat om een kanaal op te nemen, terwijl u
kijkt naar een ander kanaal, zolang de twee kanalen maar van hetzelfde
TV station komen.

TV Kijken

Geluid/Audio instellen

Om het volume aan te passen, doe het volgende:

• Draai aan de ronde volumeknop op het Digital TV controlepaneel, druk op de

+ of - toets op het toetsenbord, of druk op de VOL S en T toetsen op de
afstandsbediening om het volume aan te passen.

• Druk op de Mute toets op het Digital TV controlepaneel of op de

afstandsbediening om audio uit te schakelen. Druk deze nogmaals in
om het weer in te schakelen.

• Druk op MTS op het Digital controlepaneel of op de afstandsbediening om te

luisteren naar een SAP (Secondair Audio Programma) zoals het weer of
verkeersinformatie. Deze functie werkt alleen wanneer het ondersteund wordt
door de uitzender.

Video instellen

Druk op de

Om verschillende beeldinstellingen aan
te passen, druk op de Setting toets,
selecteer Setting in het popup menu, of
druk F2 op het toetsenbord, dan naar de

pagina.

Voor standaard TV instellingen:

• Verplaats de balk om de
helderheid aan te passen.

• Selecteer een aspect ratio om het gewenste schermformaat te kiezen. U
kunt kiezen tussen User define, 4:3, 16:9, en 2.21:1. U kunt dit ook
veranderen door bij de optie Aspect Ratio vanuit het popup menu de
gewenste instelling te selecteren.

Wanneer u de Picture-In-Picture (PIP) functie gebruikt, kunt u twee instellingen
configureren:

• Het hoofdscherm of PIP scherm voor opname.

• De mate van doorzichtigheid van het PIP scherm.

Instellingen Capture/Opname configureren

U kunt aangeven waar u afbeeldingen en opgenomen TV programma’s wilt
opslaan, opgenomen programma’s wilt omzetten in DVD formaat, en specificeren
hoelang u wilt opnemen doormiddel van de

TimeShift

functie.

Om aan te geven waar u uw afbeeldingen wilt opslaan:

1. Druk op de

tekst box om te bepalen waar u uw

vastgelegde afbeeldingen op uw harde schijf wilt opslaan.

Opgenomen bestanden omzetten naar DVD formaat.

1. Klik in de Original File tekst box om het bestand te selecteren welke u wilt

omzetten.

2. Geef een naam in voor het DVD bestand in de Target File tekst box.

3. Klik op de Transfer toets.

Opmerking: Wanneer u de PIP functie gebruikt, kijk op pag.22 bij

Video

instellen

hoe u het juiste scherm selecteert om vast te leggen.

Om het aantal minuten in te stellen die u wilt opnemen met de

TimeShift

functie,

verplaatst u de TimeShift Setting balk naar het gewenste aantal minuten.

Afbeeldingen vastleggen

Druk op de Capture toets op het Digital TV controlepaneel, Druk op de C toets
op het toetsenbord, of selecteer

Capture

vanuit het popup menu om een

afbeelding vast te leggen van het huidige beeldscherm. Een afbeelding is

vastgelegd in een aangegeven directory als aangegeven in Configureren
Capture / Recording instellingen op pag. 23

Opnemen van TV programma’s

U kunt met de TV Box op verschillende manieren TV programma’s opnemen en
afspelen. U kunt op elk moment handmatig opnemen of u kunt vooraf een timer
opname instellen dat automatisch opneemt.

Opmerking: Wanneer u gaat opnemen, zullen alle andere functies
worden uitgeschakeld. U kunt alleen het volume aanpassen en de Stop
toets gebruiken om de opname te stoppen.

Time Shifting

De

Time Shifting

functie gebruikt u om een korte opname van een TV
programma te maken. Dit is handig wanneer u tijdelijk wordt onderbroken door
bijv. een telefoontje. Deze opnames kunnen 1 tot 10 minuten duren afhankelijk

van uw instellingen als beschreven in Configureren Capture / Recording
Instellingen op pag. 23.

Om een korte opname te maken gaat u als volgt te werk:

1. Druk op de Time Shifting toets op het Digital TV controlepaneel, wacht
ongeveer 10 seconden, druk dan op Play of de Enter toets op het
toetsenbord om verder TV te kijken.

2. Verplaats de

Progress Bar

om een willekeurig deel van de opname te

bekijken.

3. Druk op de Stop, Time Shifting toets of spatie om de opname te stoppen.

Opmerking: Wanneer u een tweede opname maakt met deze methode,
zal deze de eerste opname vervangen.

Handmatig opnemen

Om handmatig een TV programma op te nemen:

Instellen timer opname

Om een TV programma op een vastgesteld tijdstip op te nemen:

1. Druk op de Setting toets, selecteer Setting vanuit het popup menu of druk

op F2 op het toetsenbord. Dan gaat u naar de Schedule Recording tab.

2. Selecteer het kanaal dat u wilt opnemen in de

Channel

drop down menu.

3. Geef een naam in voor het programma om op te nemen.

4. Geef de start- en eindtijd in.

5. Klik op File Path text box om te specificeren waar de opgenomen
bestanden opgeslagen moeten worden.

6. Druk op de

Add

toets om het nieuwe opnameschema vast te leggen.

7. Herhaal de bovenstaande handelingen als u meerdere programma’s wilt

opnemen.

Opmerkingen:

• De geprogrammeerde opname gebruikt de systeemtijd van uw PC voor
de opname. Zorg ervoor dat de systeemtijd van uw PC gelijk staat voor

• Alle opgenomen programma’s worden opgeslagen in MPG (DVB
media file) formaat met programmanaam, datum en tijd van opname.
Bijvoorbeeld, een bestand met de naam
PTS_1(20040510-143928).mpg was opgenomen van het PTS_1 TV
programma op 10 mei 2004, gestart op 2:39:28 pm.

Instellen timer opname m.b.v EPG

Om een voorgeprogrammeerde opname in te stellen m.b.v de Electronic
Program Guide (EPG) functie:

1. Selecteer het kanaal dat u wilt opnemen.

2. Druk op de ProgList toets op het Digital TV controlepaneel.

De linkerzijde van dit scherm geeft het huidige TV kanaal weer. De
rechterzijde geeft een omschrijving van het huidige kanaal.

Het onderste gedeelte geeft een lijst met programma’s weer met de
tijden wanneer ze worden laten zien.

Opmerking: De begin- en eindtijd zal worden omgezet naar uw

systeemtijd, dus zorg ervoor dat uw systeemtijd en tijdzone gelijk staan
ingesteld.

Afspelen van opgenomen programma’s

Wanneer u opgenomen programma’s wilt afspelen:

1. Druk op de Play toets in het Digital TV controlepaneel om opgenomen

bestanden te openen.

2. Zoek het gewenste opgenomen programma op uw harde schijf vanuit de

dialoogbox en klik op Open om het programma af te spelen. Het bestand

Infrared sensor: Point the remote control towards this sensor to transmit

remote control commands.

Getting started

Getting started

Inserting the remote control battery

To insert a battery into your remote control, do the following:

1. Use a pointed object such as a pencil to press the recessed switch on the
back of the remote control (1) and then slide the battery compartment
door in the direction of the arrow (2), while keeping the switch pressed.

2. Insert a CR2025 3V Lithium battery pack into the battery compartment with
the correct polarity as shown.

3. Slide the battery compartment door in the direction of the arrow until it
snaps back into place.

Note:

When using the remote control for the first time, open the battery

compartment and remove the plastic cover around the battery before

using it.

Installing The Digital TV

First install the application and drivers BEFORE you connect the Digital

TV Box to the computer!

•

All the dialog boxes shown in this section are for Windows XP. Some

dialog boxes and folders may vary for different versions of Windows.

•

DirectX 9.0 is installed automatically if the currently installed version is

an earlier version.

Digital TV, provided on the software CD in your package, is the software
application that enables you to view, record and play back digital TV programs
on your computer. To install Digital TV on your computer, do the following:

1. Insert the software CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive. If installation

doesn’t start automatically, Locate the

Setup.exe

file on the CD and

double-click it.

2. You’ll be asked what language you want to install. Select the language you

want to install and click Next.

3. The installation program will install the drivers for the Digital TV-Box. Click

OK

.

4. To install the drivers, Windows will ask 3 times to install the drivers.Click

“Continue Anyway”. When installation of drivers is complete, klick OK.

5. Click Next to begin installation. Click Change to specify the desired folder

to install to otherwise click Next then Install to continue installation using
the default location.

6. Click

Finish

to complete the installation procedure.

Connecting the Digital TV Box

Connect the antenna and the USB cable to the TV Box as follows:

1.

Connect the digital signal antenna to the antenna jack on the TV Box.

2.

Connect the small (type B) end of the USB cable to the USB port on the
TV Box. Connect the larger (type A) end of the USB cable to a free USB
port on your PC or portable computer.

Notes:

• The driver names for the DVB-T USB adapter and firmware loader
may vary for different versions of the TV Box.

• All the dialog boxes shown in this section are for Windows XP. Some
dialog boxes and folders may vary for different versions of Windows.

An icon saying that your computer has detected new hardware is
displayed in the taskbar and the installation wizard starts. Click the

Install the software automatically (Recommended)

option and then

Overview of Digital TV

Digital TV enables you to view, record, and play back digital TV signals with ease
and simplicity. The simple user interface of this application makes watching TV
on your PC a quick and convenient task.

The Digital TV control panel consists of the following buttons:

Displays the current digital TV program or video file.

1. Volume dial: Changes the volume.

2. Status Window: Displays the status of the current digital TV program or video
file.

3. SNR: Signal to Noise Ratio displays the RF signal quality.

5. Mute: Turns the volume off.

6. Time Shifting: Quick recordings of up to 10 minutes.

7. Capture: Captures a still image of the current picture frame.

8. Hide: Minimizes the Digital TV screen.

9. Zoom: Maximizes the Digital TV screen.

10. Close: Closes the Digital TV screen.

11. Pause: Pauses playback.

12. Rate: Speeds up playback. Changes the PIP window channel when in PIP mode.

13. Stop: Stops playback.

14. >: Goes to the next track of a video file or changes the TV channel.

15. <: Goes to the previous track of a video file or changes the TV channel.

16. Play: Starts playing a video file.

17. Record: Begins recording the current TV program.

18. Setting: Configure various video capture and TV settings.

19. PIP: Switches between different Picture-In-Picture (PIP) modes. This feature
is only supported by the USB 2.0 version.

20. EPG: Electronic Program Guide (EPG) provides details about the channel such
as what programs are on and provides an easy way of setting up scheduled
recordings.

21. MTS: Turns on MTS for listening to SAP (Secondary Audio Program) while
watching TV.

22. Autoscan: Automatically scans for TV channels.

23. Open File: Open a video file for playback.

24. Channel List: Brings up a list of channels.

25. Progress Bar: Slide the bar to select a particular section of a video file.

26. About: Displays various information about Digital TV such as version number.

The Popup Menu

The popup menu can be used as another way to perform some of the more
common functions. Click the right-mouse button to access the popup menu.
Play: Starts playing a video file.

Stop: Stops playback.

Pause: Pauses playback.

Channel + / -: Changes the TV Channel.

Record: Begins recording the current TV program.

Capture: Captures a still image of the current
picture frame.

Full Screen: Maximizes the screen.

Aspect Ratio: Changes the screen size between standard
TV and Widevision display.

Setting: Configure various video capture and TV settings.

Close: Closes the TV Box.

Keyboard Hotkeys

In addition to the buttons on the control panel or the popup menu, you can also use the
keyboard hotkeys to perform various functions. The keyboard hotkeys are listed as follows.

Enter key: Starts playing TV or a video file.

+/- keys: Changes the volume.

‹ / Œ keys: Changes the TV channel.

Space bar: Stops playing TV or the playback of a video file.

F2: Configure various video capture and TV settings.

C key: Captures a still image of the current picture frame.

Scanning for TV channels

Now that you have set up your TV Box and installed the necessary software, you
can scan for available channels and watch digital TV. To scan for available digital
TV signals, do the following:

1. Click the

AutoScan

button on the Digital TV control panel.

2. The scanning process takes approximately 4 to 6 minutes to complete. Click

OK to proceed.

3. The TV Box starts scanning for available digital TV signals.

The tuner searches over the 6, 7, and 8 MHz bands for digital programs.
Click

Cancel

at any time to stop the scanning process.

Notes:

• Make sure you are in an open environment where there is a good signal
while scanning so that it is able to find all channels more easily.

• If no TV programs are found, the < and > buttons can only be used for
going to the previous or next tracks while viewing a movie file.

• You will need to scan for TV channels again if you travel to a new
country or region.

Watching TV

Once the TV Box has completed scanning for channels, it displays the first
available TV channel in the TV screen.

You can change TV channels using one of the following methods:

• Press the < and > buttons on the Digital TV control panel, the left and right
buttons on the keyboard, the

CH

S and T keys on the remote control, or

Channel + / -

in the popup menu to change the channel.

• Press the number keys to select the desired TV program.

• Press the

Recall

button on the remote control to jump to the previously

viewed channel.

Picture-In-Picture mode

Picture-In-Picture (PIP) mode enables you to view several channels at the one
time.

1. Press the

Setting

(PIP) button on the Digital TV control panel to display a

second channel in a smaller screen, within the main screen.

2. Press the button a second time to display six different channels of the same

size.

3. Press it again to turn this mode off.

Other functions of PIP mode are as

follows.

• Press the button to change the PIP screen’s channel

• Double-click the PIP screen to swap the PIP screen’s channel with that of
the main screen.

• The PIP screen can be resized and placed in any position on the screen.

See Adjusting video on page 22 for more information on PIP settings.

Notes:

• PIP mode only works for different channels broadcast from the same TV
station.

• If a TV station is only broadcasting less than six channels when in six­channel PIP mode, the remaining channels display a black screen.

• Only supported by the USB 2.0 version.

• If the video card does not support VMR 9 hardware acceleration, the PIP
function will be disabled.

• The Digital TV Box enables you to record one channel while watching
another as long as they are broadcast from the same TV station.

Adjusting audio

To adjust the volume, do any of the following:

• Turn the round volume dial on the Digital TV control panel, press the + or

-

keys on the keyboard, or press the VOL S and T keys on the remote control
to change the volume.

• Press the

Mute

button on the Digital TV control panel or on the remote

control to disable the audio. Press it again to re-enable it.

• Press MTS on the Digital TV control panel or remote control to listen to SAP

(Secondary Audio Program) such as weather or traffic information. This
function will only work if the broadcasting company supports it.

Adjusting video

Press the Zoom button on the Digital TV control panel or the Full screen button
on the remote control to view the TV program in full screen (maximized) mode.

To adjust the various picture settings,
press the

Setting

button, select

from the popup menu, or press F2 on the
keyboard then go to the Adjust page.

For normal TV viewing:

• Move the slider to change the
brightness.

• Select an aspect ratio to set the
desired screen size. You can

When using the Picture-In-Picture (PIP) function, you can configure two settings:

• The main picture or the PIP picture to record.

Configuring Capture / Recording Settings

You can define where capture images and recorded TV programs are to be
saved, convert recorded programs to DVD format, and specify the number of
minutes to record for the TimeShift function.

To specify where still images are saved:

1. Press the Setting button, select Setting from the popup menu, or press F2
on the keyboard then go to the Other page.

2. Click the Recording File path text box to specify where the captured

Capturing still images

Press the

Capture

button in the Digital TV control panel, Press the C key on the

keyboard, or select Capture from the popup menu to capture a still image of the
current picture frame. A still image is captured in the specified directory as
described in Configuring Capture / Recording Settings on page 23.

Recording TV programs

The TV Box provides the additional feature of recording and playing back your
favorite TV programs. You can record a TV program manually at any time or you
can set up a timer recording that will record the program automatically.

Note: When you start recording, all other functions are disabled. You can

only adjust the volume and use the Stop button to stop recording when

the TV Box is recording.

Time Shifting

The Time Shifting function is used for recording a short time segment of a TV
program. This is useful when you are interrupted momentarily such as a
telephone call. This records from one to ten minutes depending on the settings
as described in Configuring Capture / Record in g Sett ings on page 23. To perform
a quick record:

1. Press the Time Shift ing button on the Digital TV control panel, wait for
about 10 seconds, then press Play or the Enter key on the keyboard to con­tinue watching TV.

2. Slide the

Progress Bar

to view any part of the ten minute recording.

3. Press the Stop, Time Shifting button or space bar to stop recording.

Note: When you do a second recording using this method, it will record

over the first recording.

Recording manually

To record a TV program manually:

1. Press the

button on the Digital TV control panel or on the remote

control to start recording. You can also select Record from the popup
menu.

2. Press the Stop button on the Digital TV control panel or on the remote

from the popup menu.

Setting up timer recording

To record a TV program at a scheduled time:

• All the recorded programs are saved in MPG (DVB media file) format

PTS_1(20040510-143928).mpg was recorded from the PTS_1 TV
program on 10

th May 2004 starting from 2:39:28 pm.

Setting up timer recording using EPG

To set up a scheduled recording using the Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
function:

1. Select the Channel you want to record.

button on the Digital TV control panel.

The left side of this screen displays the current TV channel.
The right side provides a description of the current channel.

The bottom section provides a list of programs with times they will be
shown.

3. Press the Record button and the Schedule Recording page as

described in Setting up timer recording, appears. Refer to this section for

further information.

Note: The start and end times will be converted to the computer’s time so

you will need to ensure your computer’s time and time zone are set
correctly.

Playing back recorded programs

To play back recorded files:

1. Click Play button in the Digital TV control panel to open recorded files.

2. Locate the required recorded file on your hard drive from the dialog box
shown and click

Open

to start playback of the file. The file starts playing

with the status window displaying the playback status (see Status
Window).

3. Stop playback by pressing the Stop button on the Digital TV control panel
or on the remote control.

4. Pause playback by pressing the Pause button on the remote control.

After installing Digi tal TV, why do I still find the Found New Hardware

Wizard pop up on my computer screen when I connect my TV Box?

For Windows 2000 and XP, a USB as well as DVB adapter driver is required. If you
change USB ports, you need to install the driver again. Refer to

Where can I find the drivers for my portable digital TV Box?

The driver for Windows 2000 and XP is located on the CD that came with the TV Box. See

Why do I still have pro b lems detecting hardware?

This happens if the drivers were not installed correctly, or the software installation process
terminated early or abnormally. Check the list of hardware devices using Device Manager.
To access Device Manager, click the System icon in the control panel and choose the
Hardware tab. Click the Device Manager button to view the Device Manager screen. If a
device named Digital DVB-T USB 1.X adapter is present under Sound, video and game
controllers, but has a yellow! mark next to it, as shown, or a USB device is displayed with
the error icon, you will need to reinstall the drivers.

Incomplete driver installation

Accessing the Device Manager screen may vary slightly depending on the Windows
version you are using.

With the USB connection still plugged in, double click the device name and, when the
following dialog box appears, click Reinstall and follow the original installation
procedure.

? Why can I not find any channels during auto scanning?

• Check that the antenna is connected to the TV Box properly with the cable.

• Make sure that DVB-T signal is available where you are geographically located.

Why does my TV Box fail to play video?

• Make sure that a sound card has been properly installed on your computer and is

working properly. Even if you do not want to listen to audio while watching TV, the
sound card should be installed for correct operation of your TV Box.

• Make sure that you have DirectX 9.0b or higher installed on your computer.

• Check the DVB signal strength in the status window (see

Status Window

)

and verify that DVB signals are available in the area where you are located.

When showing TV programs, the picture playback is not smooth. Why d oes

this happen?

• Digital TV uses a software MPEG-II decoder for decoding the video signals. Hence,

the video quality is dependent on CPU speed. Make sure that your computer has a
CPU such as a Pentium IV 1.8 GHz or higher (or AMD equivalent). See

• In order to have your CPU operating with maximum efficiency, we recommend that

you close all other applications on your computer when watching digital TV
programs.

• Make sure that the Power Saving function in your portable computer is disabled, as

this could slow down the CPU performance and affect the operation of Digital TV. We
recommend that a portable computer with the Intel Centrino™ mobile CPU not be
used due to its

Power Down

feature.

Primeros pasos

Insertar la pila del control remoto

Para insertar una pila en el control remoto, haga lo siguiente:

1. Utilice un objeto puntiagudo, como por ejemplo un lápiz, para pulsar la
llave empotrada en la parte posterior del control remoto (1) y, a
continuación, despla ce la tapa del compartimento de la pila en la dirección
de la flecha (2), manteniendo la llave presionada.

2. Inserte una pila de litio CR2025 3 V en su compartimento con la
polaridad correcta tal y como se muestra en la figura.

3. Desplace la tapa del compartimento de la pila en la dirección de la flecha
hasta que oiga un peque ño chasquido.

compartimento de la batería y retire la envoltura de plástico que recubre
la batería antes de usarla.

Instalar el programa Digital TV

Digital TV, incluido en el CD de software del paquete, es la aplicación de
software que le pe r mitirá ver, grabar y reproducir programas de TV digital en su
PC. Para instalar Digital TV en su PC, siga esto s pasos:

1. Inserte el CD de software en la unidad de CD-ROM del equipo. Si la

Realizar las conexiones

Conecte la antena y el cable USB al Receptor de TV como se indica
a continuación:

Receptor de TV.

2. Conecte el extremo pequeño (tipo B) del cable USB al puerto USB del
Receptor de TV. Conecte el extremo más grande (tipo A) del cable USB a
un puerto USB libre de su PC o equipo portátil.

Instalar el controlador

Los controladores correspondientes al Receptor de TV se proporcionan en el
CD de software incluido en el paquete. El dispositivo requiere dos c ontroladores:
uno para el adaptador USB DVB-T y otro para el cargador de firmware. Siga las
instrucciones que aparezcan en la pantalla con el fin de instalar el controlador

1. Conecte el Receptor de TV al PC utilizando el cable USB.

2. En la barra de tareas aparecerá un icono diciendo que se ha detectado un
nuevo dispositivo de hardware y se iniciará el asistente de instalación.
Haga clic en la opción Instalar automáticamente el software
(recomendado) y, a continuació n, haga clic en Siguiente en el cuadro de
diálogo Nuevo hardware encontrado para iniciar la instalación del
controlador.

La aplicación Digital TV le permite ver, grabar y reproducir señales digitales de
TV de forma fácil y sencilla. La sencilla interfaz de usuario de esta aplicación
convierte al hecho de ver la televisión en su PC en una tarea rápida y cómoda.

Teclas de acceso directo del teclado

Además de los botones del panel de control o del menú emergente, también
puede utilizar los accesos directos del teclado para realizar diversas funciones.
Los accesos direct os del te clado son los siguientes.

Tecla Intro:

Inicia la reproducción TV o de un archivo de vídeo.

Teclas +/-: Cambia el volumen.
Teclas ƒ/„:

Cambia el canal de televisión.

Barra espaciadora: etiene la reproducción TV o la reproducción de un archivo

de vídeo.

F2:

Configure varios parámetros de captura de vídeo y TV.

Tecla C: Captura una imagen fija del cuadro de imagen actual.

Buscar canales de televisión

Una vez establecido el Receptor de TV e instalado el software necesario, puede
buscar los canales disponibles y ver televisión digital. Para buscar las señales de
televisión digital disponibles, rea lic e el sig u iente procedimiento:

1. Haga clic en el botón AutoScan del panel de control de Digital TV.

2. El proceso de búsqueda tarda entre 4 y 6 minutos en terminar. Haga clic en
Aceptar para continuar.

3. El Receptor de TV comenzará la búsqueda de las señales de
televisión digital disponibles.

El sintonizador busca los programas digitales en las bandas de frecuencia de

Modo Imagen en imagen

El modo Imagen en Imagen (PIP) le permite ver varios canales simultáneamente.

1. Pulse el botón Configuración (PIP) en el panel de control de Digital TV

para mostrar un segundo canal en una pantalla más pequeña dentro de la
pantalla principal.

2. Pulse el botón una segunda vez para mostrar seis canales diferentes

del mismo tamaño.

3. Púlselo de nuevo para desactivar el modo.

A continuación se incluye n otr a s f un cio nes del modo PIP.

• Pulse el botón para cambiar el canal de la pantalla PIP

• Haga doble clic en la pantalla PIP para cambiar el canal de la pantalla PIP

Ajustar el audio

Para ajustar el volumen, realice una de las siguientes operaciones:

• Gire el control de selección giratorio del panel de control de Digital TV,
pulse las teclas + o - del teclado, o pulse las teclas VOL S y T del control
remoto para cambiar el volumen.

Puede especificar dónde guardar las imágenes capturadas y los programas de
TV grabados, convertir programas grabados a formato DVD y especificar el
número de minutos a grabar para la función

Capturar imágenes estáticas

Pulse el botón Capturar en el panel de control de Digital TV, pulse la tecla C del
teclado o seleccion e Capturar en el menú emergente para capturar una imagen
fija del fotograma que aparece actualmente. Una imagen fija se capturará en el
directorio especificado como se describe en Configuración de los parámetros de
Captura/Grabación en la página 23.

Grabar programas de televisión

El Receptor de TV proporciona funciones adicionales para grabar y reproducir
sus programas de televisión favoritos. Puede grabar un programa de televis ión
manualmente en cualquier momento o configurar una grabación programada que
grabe el programa automáticamente.

Nota:

• Cuando inicie la grabación, el resto de funciones se deshabilitarán. Sólo
podrá ajustar el volumen y utilizar el botón Detener para detener la
grabación cuando el Receptor de TV esté grabando.

Time Shifting

La función

Time Shifting

se utiliza para grabar un segmento de un tiempo
reducido de un programa de TV. Esta función resulta útil cuando le interrumpen
momentáneamente, como por ejemplo, una llamada de teléfono. Esta función
graba de uno a diez minutos dependiendo de la configuración descrita en
Configuración de los parámet ros de Captura / Grabación en la página 23. Para
realizar una grabación rápida:

1. Pulse el botón Time Shifting del panel de control de Digital TV, espere
durante 10 segundos y, a continuación, pulse Reproducir o la Tecla
Intro del teclado para continuar viendo la TV.
