De hieronder beschreven software-installatie kan enigszins afwijken, afhankelijk van uw computer. Dit
hangt samen met de gebruikte versie van Windows.
1. Inhoud verpakking

3. Installeren
Hieronder vindt u algemene aanwijzingen voor de installatie van de ExpressCard kaartlezer:
1. Doe de ExpressCard kaartlezer in de ExpressCard aansluiting van de computer. Schuif de kaart
voorzichtig naar binnen; pas als hij bijna op zijn plaats zit, is wat extra druk nodig voor een goede
verbinding.
NB: Sommige ExpressCard-aansluitingen klikken wanneer de ExpressCard op zijn plaats zit.
2. Zet uw notebook aan als u dat nog niet gedaan heeft.
Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003 en Vista detecteren de kaartlezer automatisch en installeren zelf het
juiste stuurprogramma voor de ExpressCard kaartlezer. Handmatige installatie van stuurprogramma's is
niet nodig.
4. Gebruik
Let er bij het plaatsen of verwijderen van geheugenkaarten op dat de ExpressCard kaartlezer niet heen en
weer beweegt in de ExpressCard aansluiting van de computer, anders kan hij onbedoeld los gaan.
Opmerkingen voor gebruik:
• Alle geheugenkaarten: plaatsen met de gouden contactpunten onder en aan de kant van de lezer.
• Geheugenkaarten kunnen op ieder moment worden verwijderd.
• Wanneer de ExpressCard kaartlezer goed is geïnstalleerd, verschijnt hij als verwisselbare harde schijf in
'Deze computer'. Om naar de geheugenkaart te gaan, dubbelklikt u op het pictogram van dit
schijfstation.
5. Veilig verwijderen
Voordat u de ExpressCard kaartlezer uit de ExpressCard aansluiting van de computer haalt, moet u de
lezer eerst stoppen met de Windows-optie 'Hardware veilig verwijderen'. Als u de onderstaande stappen
niet uitvoert, kan het systeem vastlopen en kunnen uw gegevens beschadigd raken of verloren gaan. Volg
de stappen die bij uw Windowsversie horen:
Voor Windows 2000:
1. Klik op het pictogram 'Hardware verwijderen of uitwerpen' in de systeembalk (bij de klok).
2. Klik op 'Usb-apparaat voor massaopslag stoppen'.
3. Wacht op de melding 'U kunt de hardware nu veilig verwijderen' en klik dan op OK.
Voor Windows XP/Server 2003/Vista:
1. Klik op het pictogram 'Hardware veilig verwijderen' in de systeembalk (bij de klok).
2. Klik op 'Usb-apparaat voor massaopslag veilig verwijderen'.
3. Wanneer het venster 'Dit apparaat kan nu veilig uit de computer worden verwijderd' verschijnt, kan
de ExpressCard kaartlezer worden uitgeworpen.

computer. This depends on the Windows version you are using.

3. Installation
General instructions for installing the ExpressCard Card Reader are provided below:
1. Insert the ExpressCard Card Reader into the ExpressCard slot of the computer. Push the card into the
slot gently, yet firmly for a solid connection.
Note: Some ExpressCard slot will click when the ExpressCard is fully inserted into slot.
2. Turn on your notebook if it is not already turned on.
Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003 and Vista automatically detect and install the correct driver for the
ExpressCard Card Reader. No driver installation is needed.
4. Usage
When inserting or removing memory cards, make sure that the ExpressCard Card Reader does not move
from side to side in the ExpressCard slot, otherwise it may accidentally eject from the slot.
Some usage notes:
• For all memory cards, insert with the gold pins forward and facing down.
• Memory cards can removed at any time.
• When the ExpressCard Card Reader is successfully installed, a Removeable Disk icon will appear in My
Computer. To access the memory card, double click the disk icon.
5. Save removal
Before ejecting the ExpressCard Card Reader from the ExpressCard slot, first use the Safely Remove
Hardware utility to stop it. Not following the steps below could lead to system crashes, data corruption or
data loss. Follow the steps below for your version of Windows.
For Windows 2000:
1. Click the Unplug or Eject Hardware icon located in the taskbar by the system clock.
2. Click Stop USB Mass Storage Device …
3. At the Safe To Remove Hardware box, click OK.
For Windows XP/Server 2003/Vista:
1. Click the Safely Remove Hardware icon located in the taskbar by the system clock.
2. Click Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device …
3. When Safe to Remove Hardware box pops up, the ExpressCard Card Reader can be ejected.

3. Instalación
A continuación detallamos las instrucciones generales para instalar el Lector de tarjetas ExpressCard:
1. Introduzca el Lector de tarjetas ExpressCard en la ranura correspondiente del ordenador. Inserte la
tarjeta en la ranura suavemente, pero con decisión, para conectarla correctamente.
Nota: La ranura del ExpressCard hará un “clic” cuando el Lector esté totalmente insertado en la ranura.
2. Encienda el ordenador en caso de no estar ya encendido.
Los sistemas operativos Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003 y Vista detectan e instalan automáticamente el
driver correcto para el Lector de tarjetas ExpressCard. No es necesaria la instalación de drivers.
4. Uso
Cuando introduzca o retire tarjetas de memoria, compruebe que el Lector de tarjetas ExpressCard no se
mueve de un lado a lado en la ranura ExpressCard. De ser así, podría salirse de la ranura de forma
fortuita.
Consejos de uso
:
• Introduzca cualquier tipo de tarjeta de memoria de modo que los pins dorados queden delante y
orientados hacia abajo.
• Las tarjetas de memoria pueden extraerse en cualquier momento.
• Cuando el Lector de tarjetas ExpressCard esté instalado correctamente, aparecerá un icono de unidad
extraíble en “Mi PC”. Para acceder a la tarjeta de memoria, haga doble clic en dicho icono.
5. Extracción segura
Antes de retirar el Lector de tarjetas ExpressCard de su ranura, utilice la función de “Extraer hardware de
forma segura” para detenerlo. El incumplimiento de estos pasos podría provocar errores en el sistema y
corrupción o pérdida de datos. Siga los pasos siguientes según la versión de Windows que utilice.
Para Windows 2000:
1. Haga clic en el icono “Desenchufar o extraer hardware” que aparece en la barra de tareas al
lado del reloj del sistema.
2. Haga clic en “Detener el dispositivo de almacenamiento masivo USB…”.
3. Cuando aparezca el cuadro de diálogo que indica que es seguro extraer el hardware, haga clic
en Aceptar.
Para Windows XP/Server 2003/Vista:
1. Haga clic en el icono “Retirar hardware de forma segura” que aparece en la barra de tareas al
lado del reloj del sistema.
2. Haga clic en el mensaje “Extraer de forma segura el dispositivo de almacenamiento masivo
USB...”.
3. Cuando aparezca el cuadro de diálogo que indica que es seguro extraer el hardware, podrá
extraer el Lector de tarjetas ExpressCard.
