Residential ADSL POTS Splitter

This guide provides the basic information required to install the ISDN Splitter in a customer premises.
Installation
The CPE-42 can be installed on any flat surface in a dry location inside the customer premises. The orientation of the CPE-42 is not important but it should be positioned to provide easy access to the RJ-45 connectors.
The installation of the splitter requires 2, #8 – 2.54 cm wood screws. The screws should be inserted into the tabs located at the top and bottom of the splitter and tightened until there is no noticeable movement when a light force is applied to the splitter.
Grounding
This CPE-42 does not require an earth ground.
Connectors
The CPE-42 is equipped with three RJ-45 jacks to enable quick connection to PHONE, LINE, and ADSL modem. Insert mating plugs from the phone, line, and ADSL modem into the appropriate jacks.

Testing the CPE-42
To test the CPE-42 for correct operation simply lift the handset of the phone connected to the PHONE port on the splitter. You should hear dial tone. If the ADSL modem is correctly connected to the ADSL Port on the CPE­42 the ADSL Status light on your modem should be illuminated indicating ADSL service.

Warranty
The CPE-42 is covered by a 3 year warranty under normal operating conditions. Defective units should be returned to Comtest Advanced Networks where they will be replaced or repaired and returned to the user. The CPE-42 contains no user serviceable parts. Opening the plastic housing voids the warranty and may expose the user to hazardous voltages.
