Application
The CPE-01V splitter provides xDSL signal separation from the voice line within the customer’s re sidence, and can use either single wires or RJ11 connectors. The CPE-01V also supports a secondary single-service line.
The CPE-01V does not require an earth ground. If using the IDC, only use 22AWG, 24AWG or 26AWG solid conductor wire. RJ11 wiring can be 22AWG, 24AWG or
26AWG stranded or solid.
Instructions
Mount the CPE-01V to a smooth surface, using a #4 or #6 Pan Head screw, suitable for the surface material, no shorter than 3/8”. CPE-01V orientation does not matter.
Pull each IDC towards you, until it swings open and stops.
The CPE-01V has three connections:
Modem – customer’s xDSL modem.  Line – the incoming line.  Phone - customer’s telephone
Each connection is shared between an RJ11 and IDC connector. Each connection can accommodate only one type of wiring.
If the IDC wire has been previously used, cut-off approximately ½” from the end, before inserting into the IDC connectors on the CPE-01V.

If using the IDC:
Carefully observe the proper orientation of the TipRing leads. Do not remove the insulation from the wire and maintain the wire twist. Insert each pair of wires into the appropriate IDC connector about ½”.
Press the IDC closed, until the IDC latches lock into place. It will take some force to close the IDC, with the thicker wire gauges taking more effort.
If using the RJ11: With the RJ11 latching tab facing the installer, press it into the appropriate opening, until it locks into place. See table below for pin assignment.

Testing
½”
To test the CPE-01V for correct operation, simply lift the phone handset - you should hear dial tone. The modem status light should be illuminated indicating xDSL service. You may have to refer to the xDSL modem
users guide to correctly interpret the meaning of its status indicators. Once tested, secure the wires.
Warranty
The CPE-01V is covered by a 3-year warranty under normal operating conditions. Defective units should be returned to Comtest Networks where they will be replaced or repaired and returned to the user. The CPE-01V contains no user serviceable parts. Opening the plastic housing voids the warranty and may expose the user to haza rdo us voltages.
