User Guide of Dot-matrix Printer Network
Interface Manager
Welcome to use Dot-matrix Printer Network Interface Manager, which is a management
software used to manage on-line network dot-matrix printers. It provides following
functions:
¾ Scan on-line printers.
¾ Discover and correct the printers with incorrect network configuration.
¾ Config and control printer.
¾ Upgrade network module of printer.
¾ Monitor print job.
¾ Monitor received/sent network packets.

Installation Guide
Please follow these steps to install this software:
1、 Double-click the file Setup.exe, then pop-up the following confirmation dialog.
2、 Click “Cancel” to exit installation, otherwise, click “OK” to start installation,
then pop-up the following window for install path.

3、 Click “Cancel” to exit installation, otherwise, click “OK” to execute installation,
and pop-up the following processing window.
4、 Finally, show the following window which means installation success.
Click “OK” to complete the installation.
If you have selected checkbox “Run Dot-matrix Printer Network Interface
Manager” before clicking “OK”, after completing the installation, the management
software will be started up.
Operating Guide
Starting up this software, the following welcome window will be poped-up firstly.
Then switch to the following main window.

There are function buttons on the top of the main window, a printer list which lists all
printers found in the middle; and a tip which shows the number of printers at the
bottom.
Explication of Function Buttons:
z Scan
Scan on-line printers.
Scan scope: the subnet which this software locates at, and the subnets listed at
Option->Config->Network segments scanned.
z List
Switch to list mode.
In this mode, you can browse all on-line printers’brief information. Thereinto,
MAC address is physical address, Check Sum is firmware file’s check sum.
z View
Switch to view mode.
In this mode, you can only browse a selected printer’s detailed information.
z Manage
Switch to management mode, required to input the current printer’s password.

In this mode, you can browse a selected printer’s detailed information and
modify its configuration. Further more, you can reset its password and get an
upgrade.

printer, it will auto switch to view mode.
z Option
Switch to configuration interface.
Here, you can add/delete subnets in which the software scans on-line printers;
enable/disable system tray minimization, set refresh cycle for status.
z Help
Switch to help interface.
z About
Show version and declare the copyright.
z Exit
Exit this software.

Explication of The Interface In Management Mode:

z General
Show printer’s brief information. To manage printer conveniently, you can
change Name、System Location、System Contact、Job Timeout, and there are
three function buttons used to print printer’s configuration、reboot print server、
restore to factory set respectively.
z JobMoniter
Show the most recent 10 jobs’ brief information, and the number of all jobs
since power on.
z Network
Show print server’s TCP/IP configuration, and you can reconfigure it.
Show statistics of the received&sent packets in the network.
z Tools
Provide two functions: setting printer’s password and upgrading its network
module.
Explication of Special Cases:
z Printer with incorrect network configuration
In this case, the printer will fail to connect to the network.
Solution: firstly, make sure that the printer and the PC on which this software is
installed are in the same subnet. In this case, this software will discover the
printer automatically and pop up the following window so that you can correct
the network configuration.

z Printer is busy processing jobs
In this case, the printer may fail to respond to the requests from this software
immediately, as a result, the software can not access the printer or get
information from the printer.
Solution: click “Scan” button to scan again.
