Ethernet Hub (TP1016C/ TP1016F**)

±Introduction

The Compex MicroHubâ/8 (TP1008C); Compex MicroHubâ/6 (TP1006C); and Compex MicroHubâ/16; (TP1016C/ TP1016F) are multi-port Ethernet hubs that bring unmatched flexibility to LAN environments. There are multi-wiring connections for up to 6 (TP1006C); or 8 (TP1008C); or 16 (TP1016C/TP1016F) UTP ports. In addition, there is: a BNC (TP1008C); or a BNC/AUI (TP1016C); or a Fiber Optic (TP1016F) port for easy, direct connection to different LAN media segments. The TP1006C/TP1008C;/ TP1016C/TP1016F hubs constantly monitor each port for signal quality and will automatically disconnect a device producing noise or excessive collisions. The disconnected device will be reconnected automatically when the error condition is cleared.

Caution: Compex will not be liable for any damage arising from using the hub operated from either the keyboard power tap or mouse port tap. Please check with your

computer equipment vendor on the availability of not less than 300mAmp at 5V DC on your mouse or keyboard socket.

± Features:

Cost effective, unmanaged hub allowing interconnection of different media such as Fiber Optic or Thin (BNC) or Thick (AUI) with UTP segments within a single device.

Connects up to 6;/ 8;/ 16 UTP 10Base-T link; and one Thin (BNC) and/or one Thick (AUI) Ethernet link or one Multi-mode Fiber Optic Link.

Detects network collisions and alerts all participating host devices. Amplifies and re-times received signals and transmits the signals to attached host devices in the event of a collision.

Preamble regeneration, signal retiming and restoration, extension of fragmented packets and jabber function for automatic partitioning to isolate network failure.

Global power, collision, jabber LEDs and individual port Link/Activity LED to aid network diagnosis and management.

Performs full 10Mbps Ethernet multi-port repeater functions and complies with IEEE802.3 standard for 10Base-T Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP); and 10Base-2 Thin Coaxial (BNC) or 10Base-5 Thick Coaxial (AUI) or 10Base-F (Fiber Optic).

TP1016F has 10Base-FL Port that support long distances up to 2km.

±Specifications:

Industry

Complies with IEEE802.3, 10Base-T and 10Base-2,

Standards:

10Base-5 or 10Base-FL standard, FCC Class A, CE

Mark.

Interface:

Supports 6;/ or 8;/ or 16 station ports for either clients,

servers or downlink hubs. A designated Uplink port

provides easy cascading to another hub: Port #1 (button

shift Left) for TP1008C or TP1006C; and Port #1 (button

released OUT) for TP1016C or TP1016F.

Link Distance

10Base-T : Requires UTP (3,4 or 5) cable.

Maximum segment length is 100m.

10Base-FL : Requires Multi-mode fiber Optic cable

with wave length 820nm. Maximum length is 2 km.

Uplink and

Requires 2 twisted-pairs UTP cable (Category 3, 4, and

Downlink ports:

5).

Segment length can be up to a maximum of 100

meters. When cascading using the Uplink port, the

segment length can be up to a maximum of 100 meters.
