Server Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the internal system
components to cool before touching them.
CAUTION: Protect the server from power fluctuations and temporary interruptions with a
regulating uninterruptible power supply (UPS). This device protects the hardware from damage
caused by power surges and voltage spikes and keeps the system in operation during a power
failure.
CAUTION: The TaskSmart W2200 appliance servermust always be operated with the system
unit cover on. Proper cooling cannot be achieved if the system unit cover is removed.
Powering Down the Server
System power in the TaskSmart W2200 appliance server does not completely shut down from

Removal and Replacement Procedures 2-15
Guidelines for SCSI Hard Drives (Models 20 and 30)
Each SCSI hard drive installed into a TaskSmart W2200 appliance server must be c onfigured
with a unique SCSI ID number. Unique identification allows the system to search for the lowest
numbered dr i ve to use as a boot able partition. By default, the jumpers on Compaq SCSI hard
drives are set to ID 0 and may need to be reset when the drive is installed as an optional or
replacement drive in the server.
CAUTION: Installing unsupported hard drives may damage your system by consuming power
and generating heat in excess of the server operating tolerance.
This condition may result in a loss of system or data integrity, or both.
NOTE: Refer to the documentation that shipped with your hard drives to determine how to set the
jumpers on your SCSI hard drives.
