Keyboard Changes
Two keys on your Home Internet Appliance IA-2 are different from the keys on the keyboard illustration in the “Features” section of your iPAQ Home Internet Appliance IA2—Getting Started guide.
The Alt key is located next to the Ctrl key and currently has no function. The key is on the board to allow for future upgrades to the system.
The documented position of the Alt key (to the left of the @ key and the spacebar on the keyboard) is replaced on your keyboard by the tilde key as shown in this illustration:
Microphone
The small opening at the top of your unit (below the Display Control keys) is a microphone. The microphone currently is not active, but will be needed in the future as the Home Internet Appliance capabilities are expanded.

System Reset
Chapter 9, “Getting Help,” of your iPAQ Home Internet Appliance IA2—Getting Started guide refers to resetting your appliance with the following instruction:
Press and hold the Power On/Off button for 10 seconds to reset the unit.
This instruction is not appropriate for the iPAQ Home Internet Appliance, model IA-2. Should the need occur, reset the appliance by following the instructions below:
To Reset Your Appliance:
1. The power must be on.
2. Open the translucent plastic door on the lower front of your appliance.
3. Press the
System Reset
button on the left, as indicated in the picture below.
Omitted Feature
The future expansion slot shown in step two of the Quick Setup poster and the flash card port referenced in Chapter 2, page 2 of your Getting Started guide are the same feature. This feature is not included on your iPAQ Home Internet Appliance IA-2.
