Using Your Remote Transmitter
Arming
the Security System
To
arm the system, exit the vehicle,
chse
all doors, then -press· the ARM button. The parking lights
wi!! flash twice, indicating the system
is
armed. The doors will also lock
at
this time
(if
equipped and
connected). If ARM is pressed again within 20 seconds the siren-- will chirp twice. The status
indicator (red warning light on the dash)
will
blink steadily,-anee per second.
Pre-arm Mode
If the siren chirps and the parking lights flash
only·
once, this indicates that the vehicle courtesy light
is
on,
or
that an entrance is not closed securely. Check
to
see that doors, hood, and trunk are
properly closed. Once all entrances are secured (and the courtesy light is off), the system
will chirp I
flash again. The system is now fully armed. (If the entrance Is not secured within 4 minutes, the
system will arm and ignore the unsecured entrance until it Is closed.)
Disarming the Security System
To
disarm the system, press the DtSARM button. The parking lights will flash once, and the doors
will
unlock (if equipped and connected). If the DISARM button
is
pressed again within
20
seconds
the siren
will chirp once. The courtesy light will turn on for 1 minute,
or
until the vehicle is started.
Attempted
IntrusIon IdentifIcation
If the siren chirps four times when disarming, this indicates that the system was triggered in your
absence. The status indicator
will also flash rapidly. Perform the following operation
to
determine the
protected zone that triggered the system:
• After disarming, press the emergency override button. The siren will chirp to indicate the cause
of
the alann
trigger:
• Throughout this manual, 'press' refers to preSSing for less than 1 second; 'press and hold' refers to pressing for
more than 1 second.
"Siren'
also refers to the vehicle horn If it Is used
as
the alarm sounding device.
NOTE:
If you have chosen the Silent Arming Option, the siren will not sound when arming
or
disarming until the
appropriate button is pressed a second time.

may

necessary
at
times
to
disable
the

Sensor,
especially
when
parking
in
areas
{like
parking
garages}
where
extrema
vibration
may
cause
false
alarms.
Press
both lower
buttons
to
arm
the
alarm
system
and
disable
the
impact
sensor.
The
siren
will
chirp
three
times
to
indicate
that
the
sensor
is
disabled.
The
sensor
will
become
enabled
again
the
next
time
the
system
is
armed normally
Activating
the
Trunk
Release Feature
Press and hold TRUNK to open the vehicle trunk or hatch (if equipped and connected).
Turning on the Vehicle Headlights
Pres.
the LIGHTS button to turn on the vehicle headlights. The lights will stay on for 20 seconds,
or until LIGHTS is pressed again.
Using the Car Finder Feature
Press
FIND
on
the
remote
control
to
locate-your
vehicle.
The
horn
will
emit
five_short
cnirps
each
time
the
button
is
pressed.
Personal Protection
Alarm
(Real
Panic)
Pressing and hold the FIND I PANIC button to activate the Real Panic feature which makes the car
horn
sound
at
random
length
Intervals.
Real
Panic
duration
is
30
seconds.
The
Real
Panic
cycle
can be stopped prior to 30 seconds by pressing the FIND I
PANIC
button again.
Using Valet Mode
If
the
Passive
Arming
feature
is
enabled
on
your
system,
Valet
mode
temporarily
prevents
the
alarm
system
from
arming
automatically.
This
Is
useful
when
servicing
your
vehicle
or
anytime
when
you
don't
want
the
system
to
arm.
To
enter
valet mode: .
With
the
vehicle
ignition
ON,
press
the
ARM
button.
The
red
dashboard
warning
light
(status
indicator)
will
begin a double
flash
sequence,
indicating
that
the
system
is
in
Valet
mode.
Once
the
ignition
is
turned
off,
the
status
indicator
will
emit a quick
double-flash
pattern.
Note:
tn
Valet
mode,
all
keyless
entry,
convenience
and
remote
start
features
operate
normally.
To
exit Valet mode:
With the vehicle ignition ON, press the DISARM button. The red dashboard warning light (status
indicator)
will
turn
off.
This
indicates
that
the
system
has
exited
Valet
mode.
Hint:
To
prevent
your
security
system
from
automatically
arming
while
unloading
or
refueling
your
vehicle,
without
placing
the
system
in
valet
mode,
simply
press
the
disarm
button
on
your
remota
control
transmitter
after
turning
the
ignition
key
off.
Doing
so
places
your
system
Into a temporary
or
one
time
valet
mode.
Next
time
you
exit
your
vehicle
·the
system
will
arm
normally.

Illuminated Entry
When
the
alarm system is disarmed, the vehicle courtesy lights will turn

Your

Valet
mode
or
by
pressing disarm.
Ignition
Lock
If
all
doors

closed
and
the
vehicle
is
started
with

key,
the doors will automatically lock.
Ignition Unlock
When
the
ignition
is
turned
off,
the
doors
will
automatically
unlock.
When Your
Security
System
is
Triggered
Your
system
will
trigger
if
one
of
the
following
events
occurs
while
the
system
is
armed:

Any
protected
entrance
is
opened
The
vehicle
ignition
is
turned
ON.
The
vehicle
is
jolted
hard
enough
to
signal
the
impact
detector
Once
the
alarm
is
triggered.

siren
(or
horn)
sounds
and
the
vehicle
parking
lights

seconds.

The
Interior
Status
Indicator
The
Status
Indicator
is
a
high-intensity
red
light
mounted
in
a
visible
location
on
the
vehicle-
dashboard.
This
red
light
gives a visual
indication
of
the
alarm
system's
state
of
operation.

Changing the Remote Control Battery
The
12-volt
alkaline
battery
supplied
in
your
remote
control
should
last
approximately
one
year,
depending
on
usage.
When
the
battery
begins
to
weaken,
you
will
notice a decrease
in
range,
or
the
distance
from
your
vehicle
that
your
remote
transmitter
will
operate.
Follow
the
instmctions
below
to
change
the
remote
transmitter
battery.

1.
Insert
the
edge
of a coin
into
the
slot
at
the
top
of
the
remote
control.
Twist
the
coin
to
pry
the
remote
control
halves
apart.
2.
Remove the
old
battery and replace with a new one.
Be
sure
to
observe the
(+)
and
(-)
signs
In
the battery compartment.
3. Carefully snap the case halves back together, then test the remote control.
It
is
not
necessary to re·program the remote control after changing the battery.
Opened transmitter
Adding
Remote Controls to Your System
Your
system
has
the
ability
to
operate
from
up
to
four
(4)
remote
controls.
Follow
these
instructions
to
add a remote
control
to
your
system.
1.
Make
sure
the
security
system
is
disarmed
~nd
the
ignition
is
OFF.
2.
Open the driver's door.
3.
Turn
vehicle
ignition
ON.
4.
Press
and
hold
emergency
override
button.
After
15
seconds,
the
siren
or
horn
will
sound
two
(2)
times.
This
indicates
that
the
unit
has
entered
the
remote
control
programming
mode.
5.
Release
the
button.
6.
Press
the
ARM
button
on
the
remote
control
to
be
programmed.
The
siren
or
hom
will
sound
once,
indicating
that
the
system
has
"learned"
that
remote
control.
7.
Repeat
step 6 for
any
additional
remote
controls.
8.
Turn
the
vehicle
ignition
off
to
exit
the
programming
mode.
Test
all
remote
controls
to
ensure
that
they
work
properly.

Two-Car Mode
Your transmItters can be programmed to operate two separate vehicles, both equipped with the same model system.
In the two-car mode configuration the top two buttons are used
to
operate the
first vehicle and bottom two buttons are used
to
operate the second.
Note:
It is recommended that the transmitter memory should be cleared before programming two-
car mode.
To
operate 2 separate vehicles from one Remote transmitter follow these instructions:
1. Complete steps 1-5 from Adding Remote Controls to Your
System.
(See above.)
2. Press button 2 on the remote transmitter to be programmed to set operation of this system
on
buttons 1 and 2 - OR -- press button 4 on remote transmitter to set operation
of
this system
on buttons 3 and 4. The system
will
respond
by
chirping the siren (or horn) once, indicating
that the system
has
"Learned" this transmitter.
3. Repeat step 2 for any additional remote cont[ois.
4.
Tum
the vehicle ignition off to exit the programming mode. Test all remote controls to ensure
that they work properly.
Additional notes regarding
two~car
mode:
- Not all transmitters have to be programmed as
two~car
mode
- When a transmitter is programmed as a two car transmitter the following functions are not available:

Deleting
Lost
or
Stolen Remote
Controls
from Your System
If one of your remote controls is lost
or
stolen, follow these instructions IMMEDIATELY
to
remove the
control code from your system.
1.
Make sure that you have all remaining remote controls available.
2. Enter the remote control programming mode
by following steps 1 - 5 of
Adding
Remote
Controls to
Your
System (page 7).
3a.
If
you
have only one remaining remote control, press the
ARM
button
on
that remota
control
four
(4) times) pausing
at
least 1 second in between each press. Make sure that the
siren chirps each time
you
press the
ARM
button.
3b.
If
you have two remaining remote controls, press
the
ARM
button
on
each
remote
control
two
(2) times, pausing at least 1 second
In
between each press. Make sure that the
siren chirps 8ach time you press the ARM button.
30.
If
you have
three
remaining remote controls, press the ARM button on the first remote
control
two
(2) times, then press the ARM button on the other two remote controls once.
Pause at least 1 second

between each press .

4 Turn the vehicle ignition off to exit the programming mode. When
you
are finished, the lost
or
stolen remote control will no longer operate your system.
Programming Selectable Options-
This section explains the process for changing certain operating characteristics of your system. These,options were set
by
your installer at the time of Installation. These options should not need to
be
changed once installation is complete. Please exercise extreme caution as some of these options configure the system to interface with-your specific vehicle. Changing these options may result in faulty operation
or
vehicle damage. See
your
Installer
for
details.
Note: Remote
controls
must
be
'programmed
prior
to
these
steps.
1.
Repeat steps 1·5 of Adding Remote Controls to
Your
System (page 7).
2.
Press and release the emergency override button.
The
horn
or
siren will sound three (3) times. This indicates that
the
unit has entered
the
Option
Bank
One.
3.
Press the ARM button (button
1)
on
a programmed remote control to'begin option selections. The siren or horn will sound a number of times to indicate the number of the option.
4.
Press the DISARM button (button 2) to turn the option on or off. The vehicle red
status indicator on the dashboard
indicates whether an option is on or off.
• If
the
selected
option
is ON,
the
indicator
will
light.
If
the
selected
option
is
OFF,
the
indicator
will
turn
off.
• The
status
indicator
will
turn
on
or
off
when
an
option
is
changed.
5.
When changes are complete, press and release the emergency override button to select the Option
Bank
2.
(Siren or hom will sound four (4) times.)
6.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to change desired options.
7.
Turn ignition OFF to exit programming.

The Theft Protection Program is designed to provide the retail purchaser of a security system provided by CODE-ALARM, INC. ("CODE") an additional benefit, at no additional
cost to the purchaser, should their vehicle be stolen while protected
by
a CODE-ALARM
security system. While CODE has created this program
as
a way
of
showing appreciation
. to its customers, CODE RESERVES THE RIGHT
TO
UNILATERALLY CHANGE, ALTER,
MODIFY, OR DISCONTINUE
ALL OR PART OF THIS THEFT PROTECTION PROGRAM WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. THIS THEFT PROTECTION PROGRAM IS NOT AN INSUR­ANCE POLICY AND SHOULD NOT REPLACE AN AUTOMOBILE OR HOMEOWNERS
INSURANCE POLICY. THIS

Terms of payment:

must

be
considered a total
loss

to
theft

your
insurance

settled
all
claims
arising
from
this
theft
and

are
no
other
pending
legal
actions
as a result-of
this
theft.
How to file a request for payment:
If
the
above
conditions
are
met,
make
your
request
for
payment
by
submitting
the
following

CODE. The request for payment must
be
received by CODE no later than sixty (60) days after the
vehicle
is
reported
stolen.
1.
Copy
of
the
retail
sales
receipt
for
the
purchase
of
the
security
system,
clearing
showing
the
model
of
system
purchased
and
the
year,
make
and
model
of
the
vehicle
in
which
the
system
was
installed.
2.
A copy of the police report for the stolen vehicle.
3. A copy
of
the
paid
insurance
claim
and
reimbursement
check
from
the
insurance
company.
