READ these instructions before placing unit in service KEEP these and other materials delivered with the unit in a binder near the machine for ease of reference by supervisors and operators.
This is a supplement to your operating manual and covers the installation and use of the COATS
®
Wheel LIft. If you do not have your original operating manual, please call COATS at 1-800-688-6359 to request an additional copy.
Wheel Lift Installation
Always DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL POWER before servicing equipment. This prevents electrical shock or accidental movement of the systems operated by the electrical power.
Always DISCONNECT AIR SUPPLY before servicing equipment. This prevents acciden­tal movement of systems operated by com­pressed air which may result in personal injury. BLEED THE AIR SYSTEM by actuating all the valves.
STAY CLEAR OF MOVING PARTS when reconnecting the unit to the air supply. The position of control valves may have changed during the servicing of the machine.
50xx, 60xx, 70xx Series Instructions
1. Disconnect the electric and air power supplies to
the machine and wait for the air pressure to deplete.
2. Disconnect the supply air line from the bottom of
the lift control valve.
3. If applicable, remove lube bottle and bracket
located on the chassis side panel. Set lube bottle aside.
4. If applicable, install new lube bracket on tire
changer tower using the supplied 6-inch hose clamp. Be sure to position hose clamp and bracket were it does not cover any important safety information on the large safety decal. Place lube bottle into bracket.

5. Remove three bolts from transmission as shown
above. Reserve bolts for later use.
6. Place lift mounting bracket on chassis and align on
the three holes.
7. Install lift mounting bracket to chassis using the
three reserved transmission bolts.
Important: Torque bolts at 30 foot pounds.
8. Install tire lift on tire changer using six fasteners
(three on each side into lift bracket/chassis).
9. Attach pedal guard to the lift, as shown above.
10. Disconnect output air line from filter lubricator
assembly. Now run air line from wheel lift to back of tire changer. Attach wheel lift airline with tee fitting into output side of filter lube unit as shown. Reattach out­put air line at tee fitting.
Note: If necessary, use Teflon™ tape or equivalent on
threaded fittings.
11. Functional test the wheel lift.
