Mechanical
Hood Switches
Mechanical Hood Switches Can Be
Damaged During Installation
Balancers are now equipped with mechanical
hood switches.
These switches can be damaged by the
switch actuator rod during installation if you are
not careful.
CAUTION
Styrofoam Separating
Hood Switches
Switch Actuator Rod
must Contact Styrofoam
at Center of Slot
To help avoid damage during installation, the
balancer is shipped with Styrofoam separating
the switches.
When the hood is installed, it is very important that the switch actuator rod contact the
Styrofoam at the middle of the slot and stay at
that position as the hood tube is pushed in.
As the hood tube is pushed in, the actuator
rod must push the Styrofoam in. Be sure the
Styrofoam is clear. If not, use a small screwdriver to push it in and out of the way.
If the balancer fails to operate, it may be
because one of the switches was damaged
during hood installation or the Styrofoam has
not cleared the switches.
