1. Introduction
VCP-WIFI-R3 is an AC-powered Emergency Voice Call Point with Wi-Fi capability, having one button that can be used to make calls when there is an emergency. VCP-WIFI-R3 can work with routers that support Wi-Fi network, providing network connection for making outgoing voice calls and receiving incoming calls for two-way voice communication.

3. Getting Started
3.1. Equipment required
The following equipment is required to use VCP-WIFI-R3: A router supporting 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
3.2. Hardware Installation
The VCP-WIFI-R3 can be mounted on the wall or deployed on a flat surface.
Wall Mounting
Ensure VCP-WIFI-R3 is fitted at approximately chest height where the button can be easily accessed and operated.
1. Break through the 2 knockouts on the Wall Mounting Bracket.
2. Use the 2 holes as a template to mark off the holes’ positions. Make sure that the triangle symbol on the bracket points straight up.
3. Drill 2 holes and screw the bracket onto the wall.
4. Connect a 5V 1A AC-DC adaptor to DC jack of VCP-WIFI-R3 and keep the cable well-placed.
5. Fit VCP-WIFI-R3 onto the mounting bracket. Make sure the imprinted mark on VCP-WIFI-R3 is aligned with the upper mark on the bracket.
6. Rotate VCP-WIFI-R3 clockwise to the lock position.

The VCP-WIFI-R3 can be deployed on a flat surface without being installed at a fixed location.
1. Clean the back of VCP-WIFI-R3 with degreaser.
2. Connect a 5V 1A AC-DC adaptor to DC jack and keep the cable well-placed to the right or left. (Picture 1)
3. Remove the protective cover of Anti-Slip pad and apply to the back of VCP-WIFI-R3. (Picture 2)
4. Place VCP-WIFI-R3 at desired location. (Picture 3)
3.3. Wi-Fi Setup
VCP-WIFI-R3 requires a working Wi-Fi router to provide network connection for dialing/receiving voice call. VCP Wi-Fi setting can be configured using WPS protocol.
1. Make sure VCP-WIFI-R3 is under AP Mode (indicated by two beeps around 50
seconds after power on). If the VCP-WIFI-R3 has been paired with another router before, please first manually reset the device (Please refer to page 16 Hardware Factory Reset).
2. Press and hold the ALARM button on VCP-WIFI-R3 for 10 seconds, release the
button when 2 beeps are emitted.
3. VCP-WIFI-R3 will enter WPS mode for 90 seconds. During the 90 seconds period,
activate WPS function from your wireless router to pair with VCP-WIFI-R3.
4. If WPS pairing is successful, VCP-WIFI-R3 will emit 2 beeps to indicate success and
then reboot. WPS setup is complete
<NOTE>
If WPS pairing fails, VCP-WIFI-R3 will reboot automatically when the 90 seconds
period (WPS mode) expires. 50 seconds after rebooting, VCP-WIFI-R3 will emit 2 beeps and enter AP Mode.

4. Local Programming Webpage
After completing Wi-Fi setting, use the local programming webpage to configure VCP-WIFI-R3 settings,
In order to locate VCP-WIFI-R3 on local network, a specific Finder software is provided by Climax to locate VCP-WIFI-R3 on LAN. To install the “Finder” software”
Step 1. Insert the supplied CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive Step 2. Find the Finder software in the CD-ROM. Install and execute the Finder. Step 3. Finder will automatically search for VCP-WIFI-R3 on LAN and display its
information. If available, the VCP-WIFI-R3s LAN IP address, Firmware version and MAC address will be displayed
If VCP-WIFI-R3 is not displayed, check VCP-WIFI-R3 AC power and make sure its Wi-Fi is properly setup and click Search to update the panel information.
Step 4. (Optional)You can choose to edit the VCP-WIFI-R3 network setting manually
by clicking on the panel column, then click Configure Setting

The LanType is default to DHCP and does not require manual input of
IP/Netmask/Gateawy/DNS setting. If you wish to configure these setting manually, change LanType to Static.
After finish changing network setting, enter the user name (default: admin) and
password (default: cX+HsA*7F1) then click OK to confirm. The user name and password can be changed later in the VCP-WIFI-R3s configuration webpage
Step 5. Click the VCP-WIFI-R3 information column and click on Open Web Page”, or
double click on the VCP-WIFI-R3 column to link to the panel configuration webpage. Your default browser will start automatically to connect to the LAN IP displayed in Finder.

4.1. Connecting to Webpage
If default login user/password is not changed, webpage login will be disabled 1 hour after power on. Please reboot the device and retry connection.
Step 1. Double click the VCP-WIFI-R3 column on Finder, or enter VCP-WIFI-R3s LAN
IP Address in your browser. Step 2. Enter the login username and password Default username: admin Default password: cX+HsA*7F1 tep 3. You will enter change password page. Enter and repeat a new password
(username change is optional), take care that both username and password
are case sensitive. Click OK to confirm.
Step 4. Upon confirming new username and password, you will enter the Welcome
page. The webpage will prompt you to re-login with new username and
password.
The Welcome page displays VCP-WIFI-R3 info. Click on the pages and folders on the left to access VCP-WIFI-R3s various functions.

5. Network Setting
5.1. Wireless
The Wireless webpage display current VCP Wi-Fi setting. Wi-Fi setting can only be changed by factory resetting VCP and using to reprogram Wi-Fi setting. Wi-Fi setting cannot be changed on the webpage.

6. System Setting
6.1. Change Password
Edit the username and password used to log into VCP webpage under “Change Password page.
Enter a new name or new password and click “OK” to confirm the username and
password change. The username and password are case sensitive.

6.3. VOIP
The VOIP setting is used to program VCP voice call function.
VOIP SIP Setting
Server: Your VOIP server URL, factory default is set to Climax Home Portal Server.
If you use your own server, a SIP VOIP server is required. We recommend using an Asterisk server.
User: Enter your username in the VOIP server Password: Enter the password.
ALARM Button
Enter the call recipient for VCP to dial when the ALARM button is pressed.

6.4. Audio Setting
The Audio Setting provides user to adjust to the preferable volume of communication. (If Audio Setting did not display, please refresh the entire webpage)
There are three options available: Low, Medium and High options for Speaker Volume and Mic Volume. When setting is complete, two beeps will be emitted.
*Do not adjust the volume when speaking, settings will fail if do so.

6.5. Date & Time
The following page is displayed when you click on “Date & Time”:
Under the Date & Time heading, you can edit time and date. As the page does not automatically refresh itself with the time, you can click on Now to refresh to your current time. Under the Time Zone heading, you can choose your time zone. Under the Internet Time heading, you can tick the box Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server to adjust to internet time. The scroll down bar of Server allows you to choose from a selection of time servers. Click on “OK” to confirm the settings.

6.6. Dynamic DNS
The “Dynamic DNS page provides VDP public IP information.
Dynamic DNS Server: Set the server used by VCP to acquire its public IP
address.
Public IP address: The public IP address shown is required to for remote access
of the VCP via port forwarding.

6.7. Firmware
The following page is displayed when you click on “Firmware
You can update VCP firmware: Click the “Choose File” button, browse and find the correct file, and press “Apply” to apply the setting. Please follow the onscreen instruction to complete the update.

6.8. Factory Reset
Factory Reset function will clear all VCP setting, event records and restore all settings to factory default.
You can choose to reset VCP to the factory default setting by clicking the “Yes” button. After factory reset, use WPS to repeat Wi-Fi setup process. Please refer to page 5 3.3.

Hardware Factory Reset
1. Disconnect AC power.
2. Press and hold VCP ALARM button and reconnect AC power. Do not release the
button.
3. Keep holding the ALARM button for about 30 seconds until VCP emits 2 beeps, then
release the button.
4. Factory Reset is complete, VCP will reboot and enter AP mode.

6.9. Backup & Restore
You can store the current settings by clicking on the “Download” button. If you wish to restore the previously stored file, click on “Choose File”, find the correct file and click on “Apply” to restore to the previous setting.

6.10. System Log
The System Log displays system operation history. You can choose how many reported events are displayed by selecting the drop down bar near the bottom of the page, or click Download button to download detailed system log file into your computer.

6.11. Logout
Click “Logout and confirm the action to disconnect from VCP webpage.
6.12. Reboot
The Reboot function allows you to restart the VCP. Press Reboot and confirm, VCP will automatically start rebooting process and countdown the remaining time.

7. History
7.1. Event Log
The Event Log records system events.
You can choose how many events are displayed on the page by selecting the drop down bar near the bottom of the page.

8. Operation
VCP is capable of both making an outgoing emergency call and picking up an incoming call. Before using VCP, make sure to complete the VOIP settings first.
Outgoing Call
VCP can store a call recipient in VOIP setting. After the call recipient is set in the VOIP setting, pressing the ALARM button will initiate the call to the call recipient. To cancel the call, press and hold the ALARM button for 8-10 seconds before the call recipient answers the call. When the call recipient picks up the call, VCP will automatically open two-way voice communication. The user can terminate the call at any time by pressing the ALARM button for 8-10 seconds.
Incoming Call
VCP will automatically pick up any incoming call without any button press and establish two-way voice communication. User can terminate the call at any time by pressing the ALARM button for 8-10 seconds.
