Clifford NIGHTVISION User Manual

NightVision Operating Instructions
Congratulations on your purchase of the Clifford NightVision Headlight
and Courtesy Light Automation System. NightVision is completely automated, there’s nothing you need to do or adjust.
When driving at dusk:
NightVision will automatically turn on and, if retractable, raise the headlights.
When driving at dawn:
Precision Activation:
NightVision automatically and unerringly turns the headlights on or off only when necessary. For instance, if it is dark when the car’s engine is started, NightVision instantly turns on the headlights, yet when the vehicle is driven under an overpass in daylight, the headlights will not turn on. Even more importantly, when passing through a very brightly lit area at night, the headlights will not switch off. However, if you drive into a dark parking structure during the day, NightVision will turn on the headlights within five seconds of entering the structure, and will turn them off five seconds after you drive out of the structure.
When you park your car at night:
NightVision keeps the headlights and courtesy lights on for 30 seconds after you turn off the engine to light your way out of and away from the vehicle. The headlights are then automatically extinguished.
RainCheck™— rainy day safety feature:
When the vehicle’s windshield wipers are turned on — day or night — NightVision will automatically turn on the headlights for as long as the wipers are on. This feature delivers an extra margin of driving safety since it increases the vehicle’s visibility to all other drivers on the road.

Manual Control of Headlights
If you wish to manually turn on the headlights, simply turn on your vehicle’s headlight switch. This will override NightVision’s automated control of your vehicle’s headlights.
If your vehicle also has a car alarm
I
f your vehicle is equipped with a two (or more) channel remote controlled
car alarm, you will benefit from two additional NightVision features:
Remote Headlight Activation:
1. Press button II on your car alarm remote control.
2. The headlights will turn on for 30 seconds to light your way toward your car.
Smart Courtesy Lighting:
1. Press button I to disarm your car alarm.
2. The interior light(s) will turn on for 30 seconds or until you start the engine, whichever occurs first. At night, this gives you a clear view inside your car before you enter, and provides enough light for you to properly secure your packages even after you close the car doors.
