LADDER SAFETY
DON’T exceed the maximum load, this ladder is built for maximum load of 150 kg.
DON’T Be tempted to use a ladder if you are not fit enough, or suffer from
giddiness or aren’t confident with heights.

DON’T spend long periods on a ladder without regular breaks (tiredness is a risk).
DO extended the ladder at least 1 m above the landing point;
DO remember that their safest angle of use comes when every 1 measure out
from the wall is matched by 4 measures up it. Remember the rule: ‘ONE OUT FOR FOUR UP’.
DO try to keep both hands free to hold the ladder as much as possible while you are climbing or descending - if you need to carry any tools, use a shoulder bag, belt holster or belt hooks.

BEFORE USE
1) Visually check the ladder is not damaged and is safe to use at the start of each working day when the ladder is to be used;
• General condition sound (clean & dry, free from wet paint, oil, mud etc)
• No cracks
• No rungs missing or loose
• Not painted (Ladders should never be painted, as this could hide dangerous defects from view).
• No stiles damaged or bent (Stiles are the outside uprights on a ladder.)
• No corrosion
• No sharp edges or dents
• No rungs bent
• Footpads are OK
• Any caps/rubber fittings are OK
2) Remove any contamination from the ladder, such as wet paint, mud, oil or snow;
3) Before using a ladder at work a risk assessment should be carried out respecting the legislation in the country of use.
POSITIONING THE LADDER
• When positioning the ladder take into account risk of collision with the ladder e.g.. from pedestrians, vehicles or doors. Secure doors (not fire exists) and windows where possible.
• Ladder shall never be repositioned from above.
• Identify any electrical risks in the work area, such as overhead lines or other exposed electrical equipment.
• Do not use this ladder in locations where it can come into contact with live electrical supplies.
1 Place the base of the ladder on an even, level surface.
• Ladders should not be positioned on slippery surfaces (such as ice, shiny surfaces or significantly contaminated solid surfaces) unless additional effective measures are taken to prevent the ladder slipping such as tieing the feet of the ladder to stakes in the ground, and placing a large flat wooden board underneath to help prevent it sinking.
2 The ladder should lean against a flat non-fragile surface and should be
secured before use.
• Leaning ladders are designed so that their safest angle of use comes when every 1 measure out from the wall is matched by 4 measures up it,
Note Remember the rule: ‘ONE OUT FOR FOUR UP’.

USING THE LADDER
GENERAL
This telescopic ladder can be extended from
• Closed (fig 1) to
• Full length (fig 2) or
• Intermediate lengths (fig 3).
LOCKING MECHANISM
The locking mechanism locks every rung with two steel locking pins that automatically spring into place when the ladder is opened (extended).
1. Push the locking levers together to release the locking pins and allow the ladder to close (fig 4).
2. To indicate that the ladder is securely locked, both locking levers should spring outwards towards the edge of the rung (fig 5).
OPENING THE LADDER FULL LENGTH
1. Place the ladder on a firm level surface and put one foot on the lowest rung to stabilise the ladder (fig 6).
2. Open the ladder from the top. Extend the top section fully, then the next section fully (fig 7).
• Check carefully that each locking lever is in the locked position before use.
3. Continue opening section by section, until the ladder is fully opened (fig 2).

OPENING THE LADDER - INTERMEDIATE LENGTH
To open the ladder to any intermediate length, proceed as follows:
1. Place the ladder on a firm level surface and put one foot on the lowest rung to stabilise the ladder (fig 8).
2. Leave the steps that are not going to be opened as a group at the top.
3. Grip the lowest step of the group with both hands. Extend its section fully.
• Check carefully that each locking lever is in its locked position before use.
4. Continue opening section by section, all the remaining sections should be opened completely (fig.9).
CLOSING THE LADDER
1. Hold the ladder in an upright position with both hands, and your thumbs also in an upright position, push the locking levers with both thumbs toward the middle of the rung (fig. 4)
2. Close the sections one by one, lowest rung first.
NOTE! To avoid the risk of getting your hands trapped, do not put them on or
between the rungs while closing the ladder.
ADJUSTING THE LENGTH OF AN ALREADY OPENED LADDER
1. Close the ladder completely first (See “Closing the Ladder”) ,
2. Open the ladder to the desired length (See “Opening the Ladder Intermediate Length”).
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The telescopic ladder should be cared for and maintained in accordance with the following instructions:
CLEANING
I . The telescopic tubes must be kept clean. Dirt, filings, paint spots, glue etc.
must be wiped away after use, and before the ladder is closed. Also wipe the rungs of the ladder.
2. For liquid cleaners use a small quantity on a piece of soft tissue or cloth. After cleaning, open all the sections and wipe every tube dry with paper or cloth. The ladder always must be kept dry and stored in a dry location.
3. The plastic end caps should always be in place to prevent dirt from getting into the tubes and causing damage.
4. The ladder must not be used without the rubber feet and the plastic end caps.
