ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Connect the mains lead to a standard, 230 Volt /50Hz electrical supply through an approved 13 amp BS1363 plug, or a suitably fused isolator switch.
WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
IMPORTANT: The wires in the mains lead should be wired up in accordance with the following colour code:
Green & Yellow - Earth
Blue - Neutral
Brown - Live
Connect the GREEN & YELLOW coloured cord to the plug terminal marked with a letter E or Earth “ “ symbol or coloured GREEN or GREEN & YELLOW.
Connect the BROWN coloured cord to the plug terminal marked a letter “L” or coloured RED.

If this appliance is fitted with a plug which is moulded on to the electric cable (i.e. non-rewireable) please note:
1. The plug must be thrown away if it is cut from the electric cable. There is a danger of electric shock if it is subsequently inserted into a socket outlet.
2. Never use the plug without the fuse cover fitted.
3. Should you wish to replace a detachable fuse carrier, ensure that the correct replacement is used (as indicated by marking or colour code).
4. Replacement fuse covers can be obtained from your local Clarke dealer or most electrical stockists.
FUSE RATING
The fuse in the plug must be replaced with one of the same rating and this replacement must be ASTA approved to BS1362.
We strongly recommend that this machine is connected to the mains supply via a Residual Current Device (RCD).
If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt any electrical repairs yourself.

MAINTENANCE
• Keep the work lamp clean by wiping with a dry cloth. DO NOT use solvents as a cleaning agent.
• Check the power cable to ensure it is sound & free from cuts/ cracks etc.
TO REPLACE A FLUORESCENT TUBE OR LAMP STARTER:
Before attempting to replace a fluorescent tube, ensure the work lamp is switched off and isolated from the electrical supply by unplugging from the socket. Allow the work lamp to cool down for a few minutes after switching off, before performing any maintenance tasks. Handle the lamp tubes using either a glove or a piece of cloth.
1. Pull off the rubber surround from around the lamp and lift away the clear front cover.
2. Remove the upper retaining clip (1) from the top of the lamp by sliding upwards.
3. Remove the lower retaining clip (2) by sliding upwards.
4. Release the fluorescent tube from the upper spring clip (3) and pull the tube upwards from the connecting socket.
5. Replacing the tube is a reverse of the above process, taking care that the four pins of the lamp line up with the corresponding four holes inside the connecting socket.
6. To remove a defective starter (4), simply twist it gently anti-clockwise and pull it from the socket. Gently twist clockwise to replace.
