SAFETY
• This tester is designed for indoor use only at a temperature of 0oC to
40oC.
• This tester is designed for “TOUCH” testing only. Do not maintain
continuous contact with the battery for more than 10 seconds.
• Do not use the tester if the tester or test leads look damaged, or if you
suspect that the tester is not operating properly.
• When, using the probes, keep your fingers behind the finger guards
• Always ensure that probes are dry and do not work with wet hands.

Indicator lights for: 5.0V, 12.0V, 12.5V, 13.5V, 14.0V, 15.0V
OPERATION
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
1. Make sure that the battery terminals are clean, all electrical
connections are secure and the alternator belt is tight.
2. Use the same connections to check the battery and alternator.
Connect the negative probe to the negative [-] battery terminal, and
touch the positive probe to the the positive [+] battery terminal.
BATTERY TEST: (TEST WITH ENGINE STOPPED)
LED lights 1 through 3 should be lit, if less than 3 are lit ,your battery
needs maintenance. (NOTE: some late models or larger vehicles may
cause 4 LED’s to light. This is OK)
ALTERNATOR TEST: (TEST WITH ENGINE RUNNING)
Idle the engine at 2000 RPM during test. (Some vehicles may require
higher idle for accurate test). If alternator is charging properly, LED’s 1
through 5 will be lit, if more or less than 5 are lit, your charging system
may need maintenance.
MAINTENENCE
This tester is designed to be maintenance free, there are no user servicable
parts.
CLEANING
• To clean the tester wipe with a damp cloth, Do not use abraisive
solvents.
• Make sure that no water gets inside the tester.
GUARANTEE
This CLARKE product is guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period
of 12 months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt as proof
of purchase.
This guarantee is invalid if the product is found to have been abused or
tampered with in any way, or not used for the purpose for which it was
intended.
Faulty goods should be returned to their place of purchase, no product can
be returned to us without prior permission.
