The C4230 is a 5.8 GHz cordless amplified phone is perfect for
those with a moderate-to-severe hearing loss by
amplifying incoming sound up to 50dB/124dBSPL. The C4230
offers many features including a speakerphone and a
digital answering machine.

Visual Ringers
Flash to notify the user that the
phone is ringing.
The visual ringer is also used as
part of the design to emphasize
Clarity’s technology by drawing
attention to the earpiece speaker.
The “Talk” and “Speakerphone”
button will also light up, notifying
the user which button to use to
answer the call.
The visual ringers on the base are
sunken to allow the user to easily
access the handset.

Earpiece Shape
The earpiece is shaped
specifically to cup the user’s ear,
accomplishing a “custom fit”
experience.
Not only comfortable, but
functional. The “cup” forms a
sealed chamber around the ear for
better sound. This enables the
phone to work extremely well with
a hearing aid, reducing
background noise and feedback.

Parts Checklist

C4230 Installation
1. Connect one end of the phone cord into the C4230 base and the
other end into the telephone wall jack.
2. Connect the AC adapter to the back of the base and a 120V
wall outlet.

Battery
1. Open the battery compartment cover
2. Insert the battery where the (+) and (-)
touch the metal springs inside the
battery compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment cover
4. Place the handset in base for battery
to charge. You must charge handset 12
hours before initial use.

Features
TALK: To make a call Press the TALK button or predial
number and press Talk.
Volume Control: The dial controls the volume levels
of the handset, headset or neck loop and ringer volumes.
Boost: When pressed, an extra level of amplification
is added over the entire range of volume.
Speaker: Press the Speaker button to activate the
handset speakerphone. Press again to switch back
to earpiece.

Soft Keys: Press the soft key to select a menu item
displayed just above the key.
Arrow Buttons: Press up or down Arrows to navigate
through the menus.
Help Key: Press Help Key Button to dial preprogrammed
number.
Flash: While on a call, press CL/FL button to receive
Another incoming call.
Clear: While in the menu, press CL/FL to go back to the
main menu.
Redial/Pause: Press the RD/P button to redial the last
number dial or insert a 2 second pause.

Boost must be ON to activate tone selection.
Intercom: Press to call Base or other handset on system.
Headset Port: A 2.5 mm headset can be used.

Ringer ON/OFF: Switch to turn Handset

How to Make and Receive a Call
HANDSET
1. To answer a call, press TALK on the handset.
2. When placing a call press TALK and dial number or pre-dial number and
press TALK.
3. After completing a call press TALK again and return handset to base unit.
BASE
1. When receiving a call press the Speaker button on base.
2. When placing a call press the Speaker button then dial the number from
the base.
3. After completing a call press the SPEAKER button again.

Access Answering Machine from Handset
1. Select Messages from the Main Menu Screen.
2. The sub-menu will be displayed. Next, press the (soft key) Select to activate
each of the following functions: Review, Play/Stop, Skip, Answr ON/OFF, Memo,
Repeat Menu, Erase. Functions can also be activated by pressing the assigned
number on the keypad.

2. Next, scroll and select the desired speed to playback messages.
Choose on of the following: Normal, Slow or Slowest. Press the
(Soft Key) Save.
