1. BEFORE STARTING
1. The Clarion Auto PC USB Navigation unit UDR12
is designed for use in cars with a negative
ground 12 V power supply.
2. Read these instructions carefully.
3. Be sure to disconnect the battery “
before starting. This is done to prevent short circuits during installation. (Figure 1)

To install the Speed Signal Cable:
1. Insert the Speed Signal cable securely into
the 3-pin sensor connector at the rear of
the USB Navigation unit.
2. Connect the opposite end of the Vehicle
Speed Signal line to the engine control
computer (or VSS) of your auto. (∗1)
CAUTION
Incorrectly connecting the Speed Sensor connection leads and the Vehicle
Speed Signal line can cause unpredictable results resulting in injury or
accident. Before connecting the speed
signal cables, check the vehicle engine
control computer (EC) position and
Vehicle Speed Signal line with the store
of purchase or the vehicle dealer-shop.

3. Connect the end of the ACC line (∗2) to a
power source that can be turned on and
off by the ignition switch (Accessory power
supply: ACC).
4. Connect the end of the Reverse Gear
Signal (∗3) to the
reverse gear lamp power). The

is only fed when the transmission is put in
reverse.
CAUTION
MAKE THE PROPER CONNECTIONS.
Failure to make the correct connections
can cause fire, damage or unpredictable results resulting in injury . or accidents.

4. CAUTIONS ON INSTALLATION
1. Prepare all articles necessary for installation of the USB Navigation unit.
2. If you have to do any work on the car body ,
such as drilling holes, consult your car
dealer in advance.
3. To increase the strength of the adhesive
tape or velcro, wipe any dust, oil, etc. off
the installation area.

INSTALLING THE GPS ANTENNA AND THE USB CABLE
To install the GPS antenna and the USB
cable
1. Wipe clean the bottom surface of the GPS
antenna (where the adhesive tape will be
installed).
2. Paste the adhesive tape onto the bottom
surface of the GPS antenna.
3. There are two different types of USB
connectors (In & out). Each cables is
uniquely color-coded. Please match the
colors and make certain that the proper
connections are made. (∗4)

and Auto PC source unit.
4. Improper installation may create errors
in vehicle positioning or cause
unpredictable results.
4. Wipe clean the installation location on the
dash-board where the GPS antenna is to
be attached.
5. Paste the GPS antenna onto the dashboard.
Notes:
1. Install the GPS antenna on the dashboard
in a location where the GPS signals will
reach adequately. (Materials other than
glass cut off the signals.)
2. Do not install the GPS antenna too close
to any air conditioner outlet, defogger, etc.

7. INSTALLING THE USB navigation unit
To install the USB Navigation unit:
1. Wipe clean the bottom surface of the USB navigation unit (where the velcro will be installed).
2. Paste the velcro onto the bottom surface of the USB navigation unit.
3. Paste the USB navigation unit onto the floor carpet under the seat.
WARNING
USB navigation unit
The USB Unit must be installed flat. Do
not install unit on any side.
CAUTION
When you install this unit into your
vehicle using screws, use M4 × 8
mm screws. Using other screws
can cause damage to the unit.

cords in such a way that they will not

securely until they lock.
2. If you are installing both a USB Navigation
unit and a USB CD changer, a USB hub
is required.

1. Do not open the case. There are no user

2. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the case.
Never use a rough cloth, thinner, benzine,
or alcohol, etc. For tough dirt, apply a little
cold or warm water to a soft cloth and wipe
off the dirt gently.
